  • this is definitely the hypocracy of the democrat loyalists. when the evil bush (i mean that) was doing all this stuff they were calling for his head. but now because the first black democratic president is doing it, it's apparently fine. i'm still stunned this guy recieved a noble peace prize frankly.

  • It saddens me only 2,092 views.

  • VOTE RON PAUL TO CLOSE ALL USA ARMY BASES !FOR PEACE !WAKE-UP!USA!

  • Here's a guy that calls it like it is and he is seen as rare, that's certainly true, but it's also sad that this type of reporting is not the norm. Go Jeremy.

  • Jeremy Scahill is a very rare EXCELLENT journalist.

  • Jeremy Scahill is the rare liberal who refuses to worship Obama like Chris Matthews does. Jeremy investigates and reports wrongs regardless of who the President is. Im sure Chris "chills down my leg" Matthews would find a way to defend Odrama no matter what evil he does.

  • "When once a republic is corrupted, there is no possibility of remedying any of the growing evils but by removing the corruption and restoring its lost principles; every other correction is either useless or a new evil.'"--Thomas Jefferson

  • If these things are happening now and this isn't bogus, then Obama is a worst thug than Bush ever was for letting it continue and not saying a word about it to the American people. If any of this is at all scandalous, why wouldn't Obama say something instead of merely continuing merrily without change? One more case for Obama being a big mistake. Come one 2012 so we can vote this monstrosity out of office!!!

  • Where does he get his information? From former militants? Why wouldn't they lie about the United States? Seems fishy to me and I don't exactly trust everything this guy is sayig.

  • @BigFatBetty

Because he is illuminati a puppet.

  • I think Barack W. Bush is doing a fine job...

  • AIPAC owns Obama and Bush!

  • @MrSpieldose

Compared to oil industry's and military contractor's influence in Washington, AIPAC is a relatively marginal lobbying organization.

This whole AIPAC owns the government conspiracy theory originates from Alex Jones-type conspiracy theories about Jewish control over the media and government. Its racist, anti-semitic, and ridiculous, so please don't fall for this race-baiting garbage.

  • Jeremy Scahill in 1989 was exposing himself to pre-schoolers on a playground. He blamed his mistreatment by his home town priest as turning him to this kind of thing. He got couseling but got angry at his therapist and beat her before being arrested by police. Durring his time in county lock up he claimed that he was raped several times.

    So I'm not believeing him...

  • @BadBunnyRides: Source?

  • damn, the Obama people are about as low-life as the Bush people these days...

  • Jeremy Scahil is the freakin' MAN.

  • Good reporting done with visible slant. Like shooting a buildings architect because the doorman was rude. Blaming Democrats for crimes committed under Bush? How is it Bush gets so little of your righteous blame? Your uncovering of illegal acts is great, so why don't you aim them at the correct parties responsible? By ranting at Obama rather than responsible parties looks like you want attention rather than resolutions. Inflammatory reporting with an agenda.

  • No one is letting Bush off the hook for his war crimes, but it is absolutely unacceptable for Obama to be continuing the occupations of Iraq and Afghanistan, where innocent civilians are STILL being tortured and killed. If Obama wants to make these his wars then he will have to accept the fact that he is now a war criminal as well.

  • escalating the crisis in Afghanistan mind you. Sometimes Obama supporters annoy me even more than the neocons.

  • Absolutely. There is nothing worse than a war criminal with oratory skills, intelligence, and a nice smile. Sometimes Obama makes me miss Bush, because at least everybody knew Bush was a horrible person.

The amount of liberals, socialists, and libertarians that fell for Brand Obama is appalling. What did they think would happen? He was supported by the same corporations that have chosen our candidates for over 20 years.

I dont know whether to laugh or cry at our impending societal collapse.

  • I think it was chris Hedges who said something along the lines of "President Obama does one thing and brand Obama gets you to believe another."

  • @psykotrol i cry.....

  • @Poonard ok...

  • Obama was a war criminal within about the first hour of his administration.

If you look closely, his foreign policy is almost an exact mirror of Bush's.

The only difference is that instead of launching cruise missiles into dense neighborhoods to kill terrorists and level the entire block with them, he sends in commando strike teams.

A marginally better policy, but nothing really worth noting.

  • Obviously no one since they are photo documenting their own abuse and then releasing them publicly.

  • Jeffblack13: OK, but then WHY are US and 'Security' troops waging war on the 'freedom fighters' currently defending civil society in Iraq & Afghanistan from US imperial aggression? This just shows America's atrocious hypocrisy, as idiotic as signs advertising the Gitmo illegal prison complex with, "Duty bound to protect freedom." Many Americans today haven't the slightest understanding of incredible duplicity in the US's 50-yr history invading 50+ countries, destroying 30+ liberation movements.

  • Its hard to take anybody seriously that cant even spell "pacifism" correctly, let alone one that derides journalists as "punks"

Because he chooses to criticize actions that have been thoroughly condemned by the international community (without exception), hes a punk?

Even Israel, one of the most notorious human rights abusers, said that we have no right to criticize them for their horrendous treatment of Palestinians, since we are effectively doing the same thing.

    Youre a total hypocrite

  • @psykotrol you sound like a MUSLIM TURD who is the most MURDERous in human history and a COMPLETE MORON like muslims. Blame it on israel and the U.S. while muslims mass murder and genocide so many races and cultures worldwide. YOU'RE A TYPICAL LIBERAL SHITHEAD that needs to be smashed in the face.by those of us who don't your stupid insane views. SHUT THE FUCK UP and IF YOU LIVE IN THE U.S. GET THE FUCK OUT BITCH

  • @ohm300mk2

Typical reactionary comment by an ignorant extremist. Its funny how you claim Muslims are "complete morons", since the word Algebra is derived from the Arab word al-jabr. Have you even finished your algebra classes yet? Or are you still on pre-algebra? Or should I call it "freedom math", so as not to offend your "real American" sensibilities? lol

Can you name one crime committed by Muslims as an entire group that can even remotely compare to the actions of the US government?

  • @ohm300mk2

I'm sorry that you find my moral consistency against aggression and State-sanctioned murder to be so abhorrent. I personally find the actions of any agent that has initiated aggression to be intolerable, and that includes the fundamentalist extremists that killed themselves in order to kill thousands of American. Either murder is wrong for all parties, or its acceptable for all parties. If I'm to condemn the actions of Al-Qaeda, I must also condemn the actions of Mossad and CIA.

  • @ohm300mk2

Hahaha oh god I cant believe I didn't see it sooner.

Pretty much everything you said can be paraphrased from Idiocracy:

"You talk like a fag and your shits all retarded"

    want Starbucks? pfahahaha

  • yes, criticizing and exposing your own side is the most crucial aspect of any journalist that claims to have integrity. You have responsibility for your own actions, and if you cant do that, then why bother being a journalist at all?

All you are at that point is a mindless servant of power

If we ever hope to be redeemed for our actions, the first step is recognition of crimes. Thats the most basic step of any society that claims to be moral

  • Scahill is incredible. What a great journalist.

  • Indeed. And I hope this creates some waves - and will not only be talked about at DemocracyNow but in other media too.
