this is what makes me not miss Frusciante on this album so much. John is my favorite all-time guitarist, but I need to give Josh his due. This song has some real emotion in the guitar, and it's one of my favorite Chili Pepper songs.

I'm not a fan of a lot of the guitar work on this album, but I think in time Josh will grow to have ore chemistry with the band, and I think I'll start to not miss John so much in the coming years while he's doing his own thing.

I think this song illustrates how much Anthony has improved over the years, not just as a vocalist but as a heartfelt lyricist. I'm not saying he was ever bad, but the first 2/3 albums don't even compare to this (vocals-wise). I think by BSSM he was singing more melodically as well as having some deeper lyrics. OHM was really dark and deep, but I think he did a great job on that as well. And after that, he's just been amazing. In my opinion. Beautiful song.
