Have u lied? Have u stolen? Jesus said if you look at a women with lust u have committed adultery with her in your heart.
If God judge’s u by the Ten Commandments will u be innocent or guilty? Heaven or Hell? The Bible teaches despise the value of your eye compared to the value of your soul. would u sell your eye for a million dollars? And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: Except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish. needgod.com
I was adressing other Chicanos that pump racial hatred yet bump and love jams by black people. Your sensitivity to a comment that was not directed at you is duley noted.
Thank you for taking the time to post this wonderful record by Carla Thomas. She put her heart and soul into it. What a great record. If you love the good slow ones, this one you hug and kiss. I never get tired of listening to this song.

Thanks for this. Her many live versions later don't equal the innocence of it. The youthfulness of her voice matters-- you really see this sweet young girl too scared to let the boy know. I saw her do it at the Apollo in 1966, introduced by Rufus Thomas proudly as a nice "college girl." He had just done "Walking the Dog" with a million bumps and grinds so he was proud of her, moving up. She carried herself onstage very demurely.
This song brings back memmies of me strolling to school listening to oldies and junior high, times of when my parents met this song was from their days growing up this song was past down to me and I adore it and finally put this piece of the puzzle where it fits aia this is you to me.
Man, This kind of music is NOT made anymore, and more's the pity!!!!!! This IS music, not that crap that passes for music. Carla, where have you gone??
The Queen of Memphis Soul! Firme! Any haters that got something to say about her race or whatever, keep that shit on quiet mode. I will smash on a vato for disrespecting these memories.
Ditto - thanks for this song. We can't ever let music like this die. Still so freakin' cool, just like it was when it was "on the charts." Keep the soul, my friend!
Thank you for sharing! Do you know a track called "A boy named Tom"?
