Two things how are WASRs in CA now did the laws change? and you can buy a spikes tactical AR lower for $250 and add a del-ton upper for 400 bucks, Its a lot less expensive to do it this way and the price isn't all in one shot, so its not as painful either.
good job man, you can run dirt cheap ammo through that no problem i hear, i just finished my ar15 and i am now looking at getting the same ak you have for a shtf situation, would you recommend it?
Another good platform is the Ruger "mini series" I own a mini-14 which fires .223/5.56 NATO, its a lot cheaper than an AR, very well made. Over the 2 years I've had it I have not had a single malfunction with it.
I don't need a gun; I just taped a picture of my mother-in-law on the beach to the end of a shovel. Anyone who sees it will be paralyzed in horror, and if I run across a blind man, I can just beat him with the shovel.
a point you didn't mention in your vid is that the AK is near PERFECT for an urban or neighborhood environment. may not be too accurate 400 yards down the road, but when was the last time you shot 400 yards down a hall way or across the street for that matter? I own and Egyptian Maadi and I'm an engineering student, this weapon put simply is the apex of simplicity. The 7.62 it shoots will easily go through the drywall of a house and out the other side, nice thing to have in a SHTF situation ;)
Prepper, check out Hillary and Walter Cronkite talking about the one world government, TRAITORS. This video is the reason why Hillary is not being allowed to serve after her term is up. Must watch and pass on, unfuckingbelievable to say the least: watch?v=iUuXxA2UgOA

This is my first time watching one of your videos. It's nice to see someone be honest and say that they went with an AK because of the price and not going into the internet commando crap of how unreliable the AR is. I appreciate honesty a lot, and you will do well with that rifle. Too bad you are in the People's Republic of California.
@rawimpact since the rifle no longer has a pistol grip, its a featureless rifle. secondly this video was done for demonstration and all gun laws should be followed per your state. thank you for watching.
check bullet button? wtf are you talking about you dumbfuck troll? perhaps you mean a loaded chamber indicator? AK's and AK clones do not have those. no pistol grip? who the fuck cares about a pistol grip. goddamn, learn some shit before you go around trolling idiot.
@kingofthe40oz you should learn a little... in CA, we have ridiculous gun laws. A long arm with any "evil feature" (pistol grip, etc) can't have a detachable magazine. So we have a "bullet button" in the place of a regular magazine release. Since it can't be activated with a finger, instead requiring a tool (like the tip of a bullet), it satisfies the legal definition of a fixed (non-detachable) magazine. It's a way to get around the "evil features = evil assault weapon"thinking in our laws.
@rawimpact Maybe if you live in the communist state of california. For most the the rest of the free country, prefectly legal, EVIL flash hider and all, LMAO.
Id take a WASR over an AR anyday.... in a SHTF situation, the ak will be around after you have disentigrated in to dust and the bullet is in some cases over 3 times heavier than the AR (.223)... And your could practically run over it with a tank and it will still shoot... An AR? fat chance...
@Fallout3ispwn run over a ak? you do realize its receiver is sheet metal right? Atleast the AR is forged from a single block of heat treated aluminum, not spot heat-treated like the AK
@Fallout3ispwn You over estimate the 7.63x39 bullet. It is a weak 30-30 and due to its solid nature it tends to punch clean holes with little transition of energy. Sure it can punch through cinder blocks...but in terms of killing potential it is a relatively low trauma round. As for being around after an AR disintigrates in an SHTF, I surely hope you plan on buying a truckload of ammo because the second it starts all import of the ammo is done. You will run out eventually. Every agency uses 5.56
@HatrXx78 Valid points, but the 30-30 is a nasty round, primarily used on deer. Would you rather have a gun that shoots a round that was developed for varmint hunting or one that is used for deer hunting? Just a thought.... And about the ammo, you are correct i would eventually run out... And maybe another perspective would be the AK's reliability, it is unsurpassed.
@Fallout3ispwn To be honest, the AK "reliability" is over rated. Yes, I own a few AKs and all of them are high end, as in not Century Arms crap... They do jam and they do get broken shells stuck in the chamber hence why every AK vendor sells "broken shell" extractors. I like both systems. I'm not an AR fanboy etc, but a lot of the internet AK myth is just that...myth. The AK bullet is grossly ineffecient. It wastes all of its energy by not transferring it to the target. If I had to choose.. .308
ak-47(or 74) systems are amazing that wasr-10 you have will have some mag wobble but thats about it, only because it doesnt have the indentions to hold the mag still. On a budget nothing beats the AK systems.
California is so Gay!!!! The government there is so liberal and corrupt, you wonder why the rest of the nation does not want their ways in Washington!
Based on your needs and budget it's a very wise choice. I do wonder about the availability of the 7.62 x 48 ammo here in the US, however. You're going to be able to loot and pilfer .223 and .308 very readily in the U.S. ????
@lifesgood1911 What the hell is a 7.62 x 48? AK-47s shoot 7.62x39mm and they are extremely common in America. You can find them in almost every Walmart.
For "SHTF" preparation / society collapse preparation: anyone thinking of buying / acquiring metal plate to put beneath their windows and mount on the inside of their doors? Would there be a point to it against an AK47 round? if so what kind of metal and what kind of thickness?
@gunthaarz Useless! A simple "fly-over" incorporating LAN vision can place a round in your head through the roof. You would never even know you were being watched.
@djgrooveline Oh, you study wing tsun? My brother has studied jujutsu and has fought a few wing tsun students and finds them especially annoying to break. Sometimes his dojo has meetings with various Chinese and Japanese dojos, out of wing tsun, taijiquan and aikido he finds wing tsun the hardest to fight, eventually he decided to supplement with some sport judo techniques to deal with it.
Never fought it myself, my brother teaches me everything he knows but I've never competed unarmed.
Respond to this video... wing tsun is pure combat. we train to hit, hit, hit, hit, hit. don't want to fight wrestlers, but they need to ask themselves how many times they'll eat a punch before they get a single leg takedown.
@ihaterobbie123 ad hominem? wow! someone studied logic, and how! and as a technician of wing tsun kung fu, what would i know about martial arts? jeez, you got me cornered. save your college schedule for your mama. go play with your sword skywalker. next time you want to insult people, check their profile first turd. then you wont look dumb.
@ARTONY92 if shtf, then all those cali mods come off. besides i made mine a featureless rifle to overcome the bullet button. but at 18 you would know.
My main battle rifle is a Lancaster Arms (they no longer sell the the public) AK-74 with a Bulgarian base rifle with a stainless steel barrel. I have years of experience with the M-16 platform and hate it. Combat is not a rifle range, and I want my rifle to work in a filthy dirty battle environment... Same as the Tula 9mm comment I made on another video too, you can get 1080 rounds of 5.45x39mm for 120 bucks. That's STEEL CORE ammunition that will punch through armor and steel plate too. :)
Everyone bashes the wasr10, I own one and it's great, pull the trigger and it goes boom every time. I have never had a jam and all I shoot is Russian surplus ammo. Screw the haters, it is a good rifle for the price.
@djgrooveline my bad man at 1:54 and towards the end of the video when your hand partially covers the grip it looks like a regular pistol grip. I double checked and that definitely is not. looks smaller than the monster man grips what is that?
@robledo6301 its a regular grip. however, I have since removed the grip to be california compliant. i'd rather have no grip than a bullet button (which I removed). monster man grips are an abomination.
@djgrooveline i keep mine on to develop muscle memory. its just a more efficient way of holding the AK as its how it was meant to be. I tied a hex key to my trigger guard with 550 cord. speeds up the BB reloads a lot.
@djgrooveline do you live in central CA? BLM land dude. Just drive out into the middle of nowhere with your epic truck, find a solid background and get some practice in.
the ar is motte reliable than an ak. As long as route not afn ignorant 3rd world idiot who can't clean a gun. It sucks to have the bullet button, but hey in wrol that will be easy enough to modify. Now that the wife has been "convinced" that a couple new guns are a good for her to have. We decided on an saiga 12 for her CQ and AK for her mid range. We live not far from you, so yeah its sad we have to have the bullet buttons on the clips.
@djgrooveline your the second person to ask me for a link, unfortunately I don't have one atm (kinda camera shy) but I just may have to go ahead and made a quick video of it.
If you look hard enough, you can find an AR for less then 700$ The trunnion is marked 1977, but the receiver is made recently. The parts are taken off of military rifles, then they make a new reciever and with the military parts.
I have had 3 ar 15s I have a sar1rom and a polish 1960 ak milled res.I kept a full setup ar 16 inch quad rail dot .4000 rounds I would not trade my AK s for an ar NOWAY i love my 1960 polock. That ar is now my bastard child.LoveBIG TOM WINGHAM
@916edward pretty sure its not an "ASSAULT" rifle as they run $15,000-$30,000 dont let the media lie to you. what he is holding is a simple semi auto rifle
@916edward don't get caught up in the vernacular. a pistol can be construed as an assault weapon depending on which politician u talk to.. it looks mean. but its not. ruger makes a mini 17(?) that shoots 7.62x39 and it looks like an everyday ranch plinker.
@916edward then you sir have no idea at all what you are talking about, an Assault rifle is a weapon capable of full or select fire. What djgrooveline is holding is not even an "AK" [Russian A(vtomat) K(alashnikova) or automatic gun of Kalashnikov, after Viktor Timofeevich Kalashnikov]
seeing as it is only semi auto it is not a true "AK"
your logic makes no sense as you define an assault rifle to be any rifle/pistol that fires 7.62X39. so I guess a fully automatic AK74 would not be
@916edward fail to see your point, the AK74 and AK47 fire totally different rounds while the M16/M4/AR15 all fire the same round. point being its not an assault rifle if it only fires semi auto. so an M4 would be an assault rifle while the AR15 would not even though they fire the same round and look almost the same.
the size of round has nothing to do with defining the rifle as an assault rifle.
@cbr6864 - it does in California Any firearm which is a variation, with minor differences, of the AK or AR-15 type (i.e., series weapon), regardless of manufacturer, is an assault weapon under the original Roberti-Roos Assault Weapons Control Act of 1989. These assault weapons are listed by the Department of Justice in the California Code of Regulations, Title 11, Chapter 12.9, Section 979.11 (11 CCR 979.11)
@cbr6864 no not according to me but according to 12276. As used in this chapter, "assault weapon" shall mean the following designated semiautomatic firearms:
(a) All of the following specified rifles:
(1) All AK series including, but not limited to, the models identified as follows:
(A) Made in China AK, AKM, AKS, AK47, AK47S, 56, 56S, 84S, and 86S.
@916edward WOW...... you can use google search......your a tool and a prime example of why you have such screwed gun laws. I couldnt care less about your screwed up states gun laws.
@cbr6864 don't make comments if you don't like the answers I was not talking to U in the 1st place I was talking to DJ. I've lived in TX before too and they got there own little special problems so don't toot your horn on that one either
You can build a good AR-15 for less than $600, negating your budgetary concern.

Nice, good luck hitting anything outside 100 yards.a cheap $700 ar will put a 77 grain hp in someones eye at 400 yards.
focallength 1 year ago
@focallength wasr can hit 200 yards out. and when you AR jams up on your in the middle of the firefight you'll know why i went with the AK.

Does the rifle have to have a bullet button and stuff since its in California?
esh325 1 year ago
@esh325 yes. and they have option called a monster grip but i didn't get specifics.
djgrooveline 1 year ago
If you look hard enough, you can find an AR for less then 700$ The trunnion is marked 1977, but the receiver is made recently. The parts are taken off of military rifles, then they make a new reciever and with the military parts.

You made an excellent choice! Even if I had the money to spen on an AR I would choose an AK instead. I absolutely love H&K's and CETME'S .308 too.

djgrooveline 1 year ago
@916edward pretty sure its not an "ASSAULT" rifle as they run $15,000-$30,000 dont let the media lie to you. what he is holding is a simple semi auto rifle
cbr6864 1 year ago
@cbr6864 - if its a 7.62x39mm, in my book thats an assault rifle!
916edward 1 year ago
@916edward don't get caught up in the vernacular. a pistol can be construed as an assault weapon depending on which politician u talk to.. it looks mean. but its not. ruger makes a mini 17(?) that shoots 7.62x39 and it looks like an everyday ranch plinker.
djgrooveline 1 year ago
@916edward then you sir have no idea at all what you are talking about, an Assault rifle is a weapon capable of full or select fire. What djgrooveline is holding is not even an "AK" [Russian A(vtomat) K(alashnikova) or automatic gun of Kalashnikov, after Viktor Timofeevich Kalashnikov]
seeing as it is only semi auto it is not a true "AK"
your logic makes no sense as you define an assault rifle to be any rifle/pistol that fires 7.62X39. so I guess a fully automatic AK74 would not be
cbr6864 1 year ago
@cbr6864 -just like AR-15 is not a M-16 right it has the same fire power
916edward 1 year ago
@916edward fail to see your point, the AK74 and AK47 fire totally different rounds while the M16/M4/AR15 all fire the same round. point being its not an assault rifle if it only fires semi auto. so an M4 would be an assault rifle while the AR15 would not even though they fire the same round and look almost the same.
the size of round has nothing to do with defining the rifle as an assault rifle.
cbr6864 1 year ago
@cbr6864 - it does in California Any firearm which is a variation, with minor differences, of the AK or AR-15 type (i.e., series weapon), regardless of manufacturer, is an assault weapon under the original Roberti-Roos Assault Weapons Control Act of 1989. These assault weapons are listed by the Department of Justice in the California Code of Regulations, Title 11, Chapter 12.9, Section 979.11 (11 CCR 979.11)
916edward 1 year ago
@916edward
an assault rifle according to you.
cbr6864 1 year ago
@cbr6864 no not according to me but according to 12276. As used in this chapter, "assault weapon" shall mean the following designated semiautomatic firearms:
(a) All of the following specified rifles:
(1) All AK series including, but not limited to, the models identified as follows:
(A) Made in China AK, AKM, AKS, AK47, AK47S, 56, 56S, 84S, and 86S.
(B) Norinco 56, 56S, 84S, and 86S.
(C) Poly Technologies AKS and AK47.
(D) MAADI AK47 and ARM.
