Two things how are WASRs in CA now did the laws change? and you can buy a spikes tactical AR lower for $250 and add a del-ton upper for 400 bucks, Its a lot less expensive to do it this way and the price isn't all in one shot, so its not as painful either.

Also Ruger makes a mini-30 which fires the 7.62x39(AK round) and a mini-14,6.8 which fires the 6.8spc

Another good platform is the Ruger "mini series" I own a mini-14 which fires .223/5.56 NATO, its a lot cheaper than an AR, very well made. Over the 2 years I've had it I have not had a single malfunction with it.

a point you didn't mention in your vid is that the AK is near PERFECT for an urban or neighborhood environment. may not be too accurate 400 yards down the road, but when was the last time you shot 400 yards down a hall way or across the street for that matter? I own and Egyptian Maadi and I'm an engineering student, this weapon put simply is the apex of simplicity. The 7.62 it shoots will easily go through the drywall of a house and out the other side, nice thing to have in a SHTF situation ;)

@kingofthe40oz you should learn a little... in CA, we have ridiculous gun laws. A long arm with any "evil feature" (pistol grip, etc) can't have a detachable magazine. So we have a "bullet button" in the place of a regular magazine release. Since it can't be activated with a finger, instead requiring a tool (like the tip of a bullet), it satisfies the legal definition of a fixed (non-detachable) magazine. It's a way to get around the "evil features = evil assault weapon"thinking in our laws.

Id take a WASR over an AR anyday.... in a SHTF situation, the ak will be around after you have disentigrated in to dust and the bullet is in some cases over 3 times heavier than the AR (.223)... And your could practically run over it with a tank and it will still shoot... An AR? fat chance...

@Fallout3ispwn You over estimate the 7.63x39 bullet. It is a weak 30-30 and due to its solid nature it tends to punch clean holes with little transition of energy. Sure it can punch through cinder blocks...but in terms of killing potential it is a relatively low trauma round. As for being around after an AR disintigrates in an SHTF, I surely hope you plan on buying a truckload of ammo because the second it starts all import of the ammo is done. You will run out eventually. Every agency uses 5.56

Would you rather have a gun that shoots a round that was developed for varmint hunting or one that is used for deer hunting? Just a thought.... And about the ammo, you are correct i would eventually run out... And maybe another perspective would be the AK's reliability, it is unsurpassed.

@Fallout3ispwn To be honest, the AK "reliability" is over rated. Yes, I own a few AKs and all of them are high end, as in not Century Arms crap... They do jam and they do get broken shells stuck in the chamber hence why every AK vendor sells "broken shell" extractors. I like both systems. I'm not an AR fanboy etc, but a lot of the internet AK myth is just that...myth. The AK bullet is grossly ineffecient. It wastes all of its energy by not transferring it to the target. Based on your needs and budget it's a very wise choice. I do wonder about the availability of the 7.62 x 48 ammo here in the US, however.  You're going to be able to loot and pilfer .223 and .308 very readily in the U.S. ????

Sometimes his dojo has meetings with various Chinese and Japanese dojos, out of wing tsun, taijiquan and aikido he finds wing tsun the hardest to fight, eventually he decided to supplement with some sport judo techniques to deal with it.

My main battle rifle is a Lancaster Arms (they no longer sell the the public) AK-74 with a Bulgarian base rifle with a stainless steel barrel. I have years of experience with the M-16 platform and hate it. Combat is not a rifle range, and I want my rifle to work in a filthy dirty battle environment... Same as the Tula 9mm comment I made on another video too, you can get 1080 rounds of 5.45x39mm for 120 bucks. That's STEEL CORE ammunition that will punch through armor and steel plate too. :)

@djgrooveline i keep mine on to develop muscle memory. its just a more efficient way of holding the AK as its how it was meant to be. I tied a hex key to my trigger guard with 550 cord. speeds up the BB reloads a lot.

Aks jam too.ive shot over 10k rounda out of my ar with no malfunctions save one , and that was due to a crappy magazine using that logic a bat is more reliable than an ak. Don't just automatically fall in with the ars.jam and malfunction crowd, that's a sign of ignorance.

If you look hard enough, you can find an AR for less then 700$ The trunnion is marked 1977, but the receiver is made recently. The parts are taken off of military rifles, then they make a new reciever and with the military parts.

@916edward fail to see your point, the AK74 and AK47 fire totally different rounds while the M16/M4/AR15 all fire the same round. point being its not an assault rifle if it only fires semi auto. so an M4 would be an assault rifle while the AR15 would not even though they fire the same round and look almost the same.
