I don't really agree with the AA thing as an example (though I understand your point). Some people are forced by the court to attend AA meetings as part of their sentence for DUIs etcetera.
The point of admitting is to get people to willingly attend, not because they were forced or because their family wanted them to and admit that they want help.
But yeah, I get the point. Great videos, keep em coming.
Uhm....'accusing the average atheist of not knowing what evolution is is like accusing a law school graduate of not knowing about law' WHAT!? Are you saying atheists are inherently knowledgeable about evolution by virtue of them being atheists? That to become an atheist you must research evolution? Conversely are you saying that to know about evolution you must be an atheist? That is the most backwards ridiculous "logic" ever. Im not religious but I can see why people tune atheists out.
The satanic bible is an invention of the hippie age. The christian bible has introduced the figure of Satan a LOT earlier, and with it satanists, whether they be real or imaginary (throughout the ages, probably both). LaVey came later and founding a cult does not grant power to define a words semantics.
Hey, #4 is super important, but honestly, I hate it when Christians attempt to use philosophy out of context to suppourt their claims, even though they go into the field prejudiced for something.
Darwin DID want evolution to be understood in a broader sense than the biological evolution, but there are a lot of narrow senses of evolution which are hugely distinct.
but definitions are dependent on usage, and as it stand, satanist is more often then not used to describe a devil worshiper, even do they don't exist.
sir455fugg, I'd recommend you stop your bally , seeing as the solution to your problem is simple, call yourself a LaVeyanist, to avoid the confusion. If the christian devil was called Athos I would not call myself an atheist.
Mutations that cause increased information in the genome: nuclear-mitochondrial translocations (numts), endogenous retroviruses (ervs), microsatellite repeats, translocation of mobile elements, insertions-deletions (indels), frameshifts (start/stop codon mutations)...
The other problem with the "Good Person" test is that the logic that makes you a thief from stealing just once, also makes you a good person from a singular act of good.
You can take the logic one step further by saying "And if God is Good, like the bible says, and I am good, then therefor, I must be God".
Are you kidding? If I were a god, I'd either be a deus who doesn't interfere, or The Anonymous Rockstar in human flesh, making spiderman and Iron Man look like girl scouts.
I dont fucking answer prayers. I'm god. Figure out your own problems.
I'm not an expert in any way shape or form Dechha, but for the extra information in a genome, you may want to look at Down's Syndrome. Not that I understand it, but I believe I saw this as an answer to this question(it's been awhile too). Hope that helps.
Actually, Dawkins did not answer the question in that article. He mentioned Shannon but did not show exactly how information is gained. Please look at the paper linked to from my channel. In that paper I showed explicitly how information is gained, using the well established method from Shannon. You can run the program yourself and watch the information appear in a few seconds! This program has defeated Dembski's attempts at refutation several times now.
Not defending Hammie twit, But I figured that I should say something.
Water is an intermediate (in this context, meaning medium) radiopacity to X-Rays. It depends on the intensity of the beam.
In some very basic nuclear sciences, I believe that substances with high hydrogen content can deflect more gamma radiation than more complex atomic structures.
Like using lube oil as a shield around a nuclear reactor
I just did. It is sort of the standard formula to do psychological remodeling, in special the coming-into-contact-with and modeling of an internalized superior personality (called by different traditions Godhead, Magus-self, The Inner Spiritman... Some call it Jesus!), in this case one that helps to overcome alcohol addiction. And the God that they refer to is "any power strong enough to keep you from the temptation of drinking", which can be ones wife, too.
I honestly can't tell if you're defending it or not. The 12 step program seems cult like to me, and not having any clear numbers on how effective it is, (some equal or even lower then the rate of unaided recovery, about 5%,) makes it a wist of time.
This program is in itself, especially its abstracted form, not good or bad. It is a tool. It is what can be used to change a persons psyche. Who effects what change how to what end is what makes it good or bad. Cults use it to create blindly obedient followers. AA uses it to help people getting themselves off alcohol. Chaos magickians use it to make themselves who they want to be. And Christians use it to internalize the Jesus that is always looking over their shoulder.
I don't know the exact procedures that AA works under, but if they accept being used as one of the rehabilitation program which people can be sentenced to go to by court, then those statistics wouldn't surprise me in the least. They'd be hammering both nails and screws.
he wasn't being serious... most chirstians really assume eating babies and sacrificing humans is common practice in satanism. ask anyone of them... they'll bring up an urban legend to support the idea.
Number five: Yes to all of them. Bite me, mother fuckers!

The image of Satan pre-dates Christianity, because his image was borrowed from other cultures.

No True Scotsman fallacy. That'd be the same as a Protestant calling Catholics Jesus worshipers, not Christians.

Ah, you had a run-in with LaVeyan satanists. Not all see the devil metaphorically.

Yeah, but everybody ought to know that x-rays are used for taking dental and bone pictures, which ignore the water in our body.
So a blanket "can't pass through water" statement is just stupid.
