  • Epic..this makes me want to just kick a final bosses ass!

  • @PeteDorr I could say the same thing! I really need to find this game now!!!

  • OMG EPIC~!

  • and to think the first chapter had jazzy lighthearted music (with a few exceptions)

  • Who cares if this games japanese. It's got a sword-wielding nun in the pic. Sign me up.

  • @nonnatural

  • Wow, I'm impressed. Are the gameplay and story in these games good because they put a lot of effort in just the battle theme. Hopefully this came to US.

  • @TalesOfGod XSEED is localizing the PSP versions as we speak. Sora no Kiseki FC (first chapter) is going to be released sometime after Ys I & II Chronicles is released, but the second game, Sora no Kiseki SC, is going to take quite a while longer, since it's 2 UMDs, and XSEED isn't planning on cutting anything out of it. As for Sora no Kiseki the 3rd, it's also going to be localized by XSEED, but it's going to take a while. Hope that helped.

  • @Pr0udDragon T_T

DAMN IT!! I looked at the spoilers of the games before because I thought that they wouldn't come to the west like a lot of other great games. I don't know everything about the game but I do know a few important things :(

Well I'm still going to buy it, to support the company. :)

  • If Symphony of the Night, Aria of Sorrow etc aren't RPGs then neither is Ys 3 or Faxandu.

  • @HotChicksMan Symphony of the Night is pure side-scrolling action RPG.

  • @HotChicksMan Ys is one of the pillars of the acton RPG style...

  • @granotatotoleto Yep, I was being a tad sarcastic. I see all 3 games as being Platforming RPGs, and Falcom itself is part of the foundation of RPGs in general, PC, Console and handheld. Faxandu & Ys3 are very much RPGs so SotN, which has a very similar playstyle should count as well.

  • Somehow it reminds me with Overdosing Heavenly Bliss, which is by the way another uber epic theme from this game.

  • i hate it when rpg song take so long to get it to the gud part...but i guess its worth the wait, dont you think?

  • @2Gud4Games yep, after 1 minute, its too much

  • That's the thing with OSTs. In the game you prefer it this way as a lead-in, and after that one time you don't hear it again as its not part of the loop :o

  • From 0:01 to 0:57 it seems quite dark, but after that it's epic as hell. Pretty cool song.

  • Good song, but a bit...

    Pf, I don´t know jiji:)

  • Very nice intro to set up for the rest of the climatic song.

  • This song is addicting

  • Good ol' Falcom. Love their work.

  • GOD! i have been looking for this song forever T-T

  • Okay song, but the opening kind of drags along...

[haven't played the game so I wouldn't know]

  • This BGM starts playing before the final battle actually begins. IIRC, the battle starts at around 0:57, so it fits pretty well.

  • Played through all 3 of the games in this series, and I must say they really did a good job on the games this time around. When I started into LoH series I did one of the english games and it kinda but a damper on my view for the series, then I saw this and fell in love. Not only do I love the style of the graphics, the music has heart in it, which at times it hard to find now a days. It's a pipe dream hoping this gets into english, but at least I can play with some of the JP I have learned.

  • You serve a decent point.

Castlevania is arguably a RPG and a nonRPG

It has the elements of both at present!

But I still do see the reasoning it not being an RPG.

Yet it having weapons, accesories, puzzles, storyline, and character customization/levelups it can be an RPG

So yeah, actually it's decently both.

  • Not really both so much as it's a trick of all trades.

Its more like the frankenstein of multiple game genre's only assimilating a little of multiple ideas. Officially Konami more commonly call it an Action Adventure, Platform Adventure in the past and only have ever used Action RPG once and never again since.

Its better put that even Konami doesn't know what their own game is. So simply go with the broadest genre title. There is a reason the portmanteu 'Metroidvania' exists among gamers.

  • Though wouldn't a trick of all trades include both, "RPG" and "Action" styled gameplay in it?

Castle Van. has Platforming, Action, Role playing, and puzzlers in which the player plays through. All which includes, "Action" and "RPG"

I see your point though. But the previous comment mentioned only those two genres. I only wanted to argue against the two, rather bring a whole new argument up.

You're right though; it does have all the kinds of genre mixed with it.

  • is it "cry for me, cry for you"?

  • Sounds like a remix of it.

  • Castlevania is not a RPG the games have always been action platformer games. The elements present are no different from the custom elements done by say Megaman Zero or DMC series.

  • Granted, but over time Castlevania has continued its evolution and seemes to take on more and more RPG elements as time goes on. The most recent one, Order of Eclessia, shows this rather well. The customization and depth of story reach far beyond MOST platformers. I'll agree and say that the romps though Draculas abode are still platformers ar heart like Megaman Zero or Metroid, but its got more depth than one expects from that kind of game.

  • Castlevania are not RPG's.

  • this is a beautiful song

  • good choice!! 5/5
