  • Hello,

    I use Cubase as well.

Which plug-in are you usin for the bass?

To jump on the "higher bass", does it come from your keyboard or do you just change the tone?

    Greetings

and much respect for all your tunes!

    One Love

  • truly wickid choon

  • Wicked tune.

  • I guess it wouldn't hurt to ask if you guys have got any suggestions on a good reggae/dub bass guitar? I've been reading that Fender P-bass hits those low notes.. I wouldn't know..

  • fender jazz bass was the favoured guitar in the 70s for jamaican musicians, in the 80s a headless hohner{copy of a stienberger}if you want subby bass then go for a five stringer

  • a 70's fender jazz will cost ya a bit but will give you a nice vintage tone.. the original L2 steinberger from the 80s resonates massively in the low end as its made of pure graphite.. flat wound strings go a long way for that dub sound also

  • Thanks for the suggestions on basses! Everythign has changed for me since I first asked that question! I now own a Schecter Studio 5 and two Squier 4 strings, and an AmpegBA115! I've definitely hit my "bottom end"! I still suck at bass though! You can youtube me, "lkdubby"..

  • Thanks for this 3 part series, very helpful! This video introduced me to the Yamaha cs01 and makes me wonder if this is where the REAL low end bass comes from in my favorite dub music?! I've been trying to decide which bass to buy to achieve that sound.. Maybe I don't need one at all, just a cs1!
