  • Wish I could hear Doug better in this mix... but don't let gripe stop your from grooving to this song!

  • Dang it I thought this was a cover of RHCP behind the sun!!!! Epic song, not liking this as much. no no no.

  • They still have it. Saw them live a while ago. As solid as ever.

  • I like this! I'd like to Eric Gale play a solo on this! I heard Eric the first time while I was at NAAM in Jan ,2011.

  • Nice videos, keep it up. New release of BRANDON JAROD late OCT. AWESOME!

  • Normal people playing in a normal studio... how the hell can they do such a god's job !

  • When you hear this sincere and beautiful song you can be sure that a lot of so-called music awards are made of shit !

  • I didn't care that much for the song, but Corey really sang his ass off here.

  • @robibm2003 Did you care for New Orleans on August 29, 2005 ?

  • @robibm2003 P.S. : I Wish My Beer Was As Cold As Your Heart

  • I wish they had done so much more by now, but I'm glad to see them together again.

  • tell you what.....corey glover sounds rediculous live....his voice was phenomenal. he and Lajon Witherspoon of the best band on the planet SEVENDUST were seperated at birth......check the old pics of glover..........identical!!! both fucking great lead singers!!

  • saw these guys tonight.....fantastic!

  • aguante living colour!!!!!

  • every video i see of L.C., Corey Glover had the long black dreadlocks and now he's bald, it's so weird!

  • So cool!

  • They still rock!

  • They played in NJ last week. The show was GREAT. Unfortunately the turnout was very poor. Great group of musicians, glad to see they still rock.

  • @idigcars I get to see them on July 20th here in NY at the same place I same them play on their way to record Stain. this is going to be a great show for sure.

  • q buena cancion that`s is a good song

  • What a band, Jesus! Thanks to Mick Jagger...

  • This has been my favorite record since i rediscovered these guys a few months ago.....love burned bridges...ROX!.........................Kato

  • This is the best song on the whole album.

  • mr. benharperfan21 - you are absolutely correct about the true meaning of "the real LIVING COLOUR FAN". i've been a fan since the late 80's. although, the group is "clueless" to this current generation. music now is fabricated toward the masses to sell a "product" not the music. Living Colour has continued to put out music under their terms... not towards the masses. REAL MUSIC = REAL FANS. i just wish the group or Corey would tour in the Mid-West again. (Chicago) hint hint.

  • Corey Glover is a fucking amazing singer.

  • @4cien Damn straight. He must be good or he wouldn't have been in a touring production of Jesus Christ Superstar

  • This is one of the most important bands of my generation and had a huge impact on me as a musician. Fantastic!

  • Corey Glover has come a long way from being the brother who stabs himself in the leg to get out of Vietnam at the end of Platoon.

I've been an LC fan going all the way back to their Vivid days. Awesome musicians. How much do you all think Muzz is regretting leaving the band?

  • hearing this for the fist time .... wow.

  • Living Coloür has done it again. They consistently make music that moves me or even challenges me to think. Awesome album guys, amazing lyrics...

That said, the backing vocals went from serviceable to unbearable in the recording. Hey, I'm not knocking the band, just pointing out a flaw every LC fan knows about. It's always been a weak point.

  • its just good to see them performing again!! i saw them twice in england in '94 and they blew me away, but i was a fan back at the beginning in '88. those guys and fishbone destroyed all i had previously portrayed metal/rock! their music gave me a lot of influences kepp on keepin on vernon!!

  • epic

  • that's The Music

  • I know Doug Wimbash personally and he's the consumate professional. He's played with the Rolling Stones, Paula Cole, and countless others. Just a "funk bassist" is hardly the word i'd use. Living Colour broke up for quite a few years and is now making the music they want to. Record sales reflect for the most part what 12 - 15 year old girls buy. Real Living Colour fans know, and real music fans know the real deal. Music sales don't mean a goddamn thing.

  • I agree! Mister Wimbish is one of my bass playing idols, I love his style. I've seen a few shows and had trouble keeping up which pedals he used (busy dancing, haha!), there were so many! His voice is pleasant as well.

  • @benharperfan2 I agree. You can sell all the records you want, but will it matter in the long run if your music is absolute shit? LC is one of my favorite bands of all time because they don't try to sound like everyone else and they do their own thing on their own terms. The Chair In the Doorway is one of the best CDs I've listened to in years. I love the hidden track at the end. The first time I heard it, I did a bigtime spit take.

  • @benharperfan2 I love the work Doug did with Joe Satriani as well. You're absolutely correct-music sales don't mean shit. It's about quality, not how many platinum records you sell. Punks like Justin Bieber need to realize that.

  • @benharperfan2

I wonder why is it that generally bass players are like the coolest friendlyst people, I have noticed whenever I met bands it's usually the bass player seems the nicest. I'm sure all the guys are cool just something I noticed :)

  • @benharperfan2 Yeah, but it's always nice to know they are getting the props though.

  • @benharperfan2 -a +i

    Go figure !

  • @benharperfan2 Not a goddam thing! Beautifully put.

  • @benharperfan2 I've heard Doug Wimbish playing with Joe Satriani and he is an amazing bass player. It is too bad that bands like LC, KingsX and others don't get their due, but we real fans know exactly what these bands are about and they are the ones we will support regardless. Well done!

  • They lost one of their guitar players didn't they and got a new one? The guy in the purple plaid isn't the same one in the late 80s and early 90s is he?

  • Yes: they replaced their previous bassist, Kevin "Muzz" Skillings, with this present player, Doug Wimbish. Wimbish has been with the band since the "Stain" disc.

  • Naysayas Must Keep Their Playahatin @ the Door.

This album is an incredible journey of honest expressionism, free thinking, and tight-knit, talent-laden, theory-study and human openess. It is a great creation!

    Creation is what matters most.

  • saw these guys in I think 1989 at alpine valley, wi opening for the stones. man, they should have been bigger.

  • i don't people knew what to make of them back in '89. they were completely the opposite of whatever was happening in music back then.

  • Maybe so, but it seems that they want to play more laid back music nowadays anyway.

    Im quite new to LC

What has doug done before this? He should be able to play the older stuff too in order to be in the band. Right? Anyway. Think Vivid is better than "the chair"...

  • That's ridiculous. Wimbish got his start playing with Sugarhill Gang and Grandmaster Flash (He played that classic bassline on "White Lines") and is one of the most accomplished bass players out there. He's every bit the "funk" bassist that Muzz was, and then some.

  • @rokstar48

Apparently you have no idea who exactly Doug Wimbish is as a player. A "rock" bassist? You have got to be fucking kidding me. Look up...well, numerous things...but start with "Living Colour - Love rears it's ugly head [ live @ Jo Soares]. That would be Doug playing a thick jazz groove on an upright bass. Doug is way more of a Jazz/fusion/funk player than you will ever know. Rock bassist? You have to be fucking retarded.

  • @TheMegaTroll

fucking retarded!?.......whatever you cock!........put Muzz next to Doug both playing and then tell me who is the more funky player and who is more suited to Living Colour. Really pisses me off as a musician when people who arent Living Colour fans and who know nothing about music comment on pages....mega troll jock!

  • Mi banda favorita de rock negro hace muchos años. Siguen bien.

  • living colour is the band!!

  • Perfect.Great band.The greatest one.Greetings from Poland.

  • increible loco me quede con las re ganas de ir al pepsi la puta madre

  • Yo los vi acá en Neuquén Argentina el mes pasado. Geniales. gracias por su musica.

  • Polska Poland i will see ya again another time fuckin` great

  • ooohh nice ! a new album !!

  • tremendoooo,por favorr q voz q musica !!!

  • Que buen Temaaa!! Increible Vernon con ese Tapping

  • awesome. Saw them at the Highline. As usual, they kicked butt and took names.

    The new disc rocks!

Play NYC again when y'all get back guys!

  • lo mejor de este video es que tengo mi entrada para verlos en la trastienda el mes que viene!

  • See!! Y Ayer la rompieron en el Pepsi.

  • absolutely great

  • if you can, go see them live. you are guaranteed an incredible night. the whole band allowed pictures w/ fans, meet & greet & autographs to everyone after the show. very gracious. go to a show & buy the album so they want to do it again!

  • What's up with Will Calhoun here? He plays with little energy. It sounds a little sloppy, too.

  • its probably so he doesnt drown everyone out

  • I'm sure it's because they are in a radio studio. It's unusuall for a band to play in this situation, they play really quiet, and the tempo is slow. All this has affected their performance.

  • He's a great drummer too. I wonder if it's because he's in such a confined little area with no room?

  • One of the best bands on the planet are back!!! Beautiful song.

    4EVALC-LC4EVA

  • That guitarist is amazing.

  • My boys are back! One of the best bands out there indeed! Welcome back Living Colour!!!! Hope someone uploads the Jimmy Fallon Show version of this, i had an equipment malfunction & taped nothing but blue screen!

  • When did Tim Meadows start playing bass with these guys??? This is a great tune. I really dig this band. How does the guitar player sing backup while playing that riff (flawless during the entire song). Also, listen to the drums closely between :14-18 and hear the little change he puts on the beat on the cymbal -- it's awesome!

  • The bassist is Doug Wimbish.

  • Who is Tim Meadows? It's Doug Wimbish on bass (he's in the band since they recorded "Stain" or even before), and I think it's Doug singing backup vocals.

That delicate detail from Will between :14-18 on the Hi-Hat is really nice, but it isn't so awesome. It's just a double stroke combination. He did it faster on "Funny Vibe" a long time ago.

    Anyway, they're GREAT!!!

  • Tim Meadowns is an actor from SNL and starred in The Ladies Man. They look a lot alike.

Sometimes the best things aren't necessarily the most difficult. I'll check that tune out.

Yeah, I really like these guys, great to see 'em back.

  • They never really went away

  • They broke up in 1995 and then reunited in 2000. This album is the first to chart since 1993.

  • The best song from "Time's Up" years ... but - you can do it better.

    Anywhere - greetings from Poland.

  • Anyone know what guitar Vernon's playing these days? I loved those rainbow ESP's he used to play back in the 90's. I've never seen one like this before. Looks somewhat like a Parker, but I'm not sure.

Oh, and I still can't get used to Corey without the braids...

  • It's Parker DF824VR, I think. Sweet song, nice to see them recording again, Living Colour are ace.

  • Nice song, great vocals, cool tapping verse riff, badass chorus.

  • Corey sounds better with age. and vernon still shreds with the best. Doug and will are in their own league. They are the best and most diverse rock band today. Their new album is outstanding. Best of the year so far.

  • Phenomenal. Best band out there by a mile. Great to have them back. Just got the new album & it's one of their best.
