I'll send you a message because there's not enough room here. But I'll sum up what I want to say to use water or herbal tea instead of lemon juice--it offers less dye uptake. Whether or not coffee adds color is still up in the air. Henna doesn't active per se. It just releases its dye. If you can see the color change, some dye has been wasted. Get it on before you see it turn brown. And use only BAQ henna. Anything offering specific colors is questionable. Lawsone is simply orange.
I really enjoyed your video! I've been doing henna professionally for about ten years and I found when I did'nt use oil in my mixture it made the hair really dry. I would also put my clients under a dryer to speed up processing, the heat seems to make the color release and take better. When I do my own at home I usually sleep in it over night with a plastic cap wrapped in a towel to create the heat. I've never added lemon juice. But I'm going to try your technique. Thank for the great tips!
