If Moon Stomp TKO paid for this performance they should get a refund. Judging by the "applause" at the end there were maybe three people in the audience. If there were more they were either sitting on their hands or walked out before the finish.
Just saw Kenny Vance and the Planetones do this last nite. You gotta give this group credit, they sing their hearts out and are keeping Doo Wop alive . God Blessem
Right on the money, emeralddream1. You can still get the original Zircons on the Relix 'Best of Acapella' CDs (LPs then, of course). These guys try hard -give 'em credit - but I'll take the 1963 Zircons (both groups).
@emeralddream1 I 1000% agree with you...This isn't The Zircons they couldn't come close, beside their terrible! Everybody search The Zircons "Lonely Way" and you'll see and hear the real thing.
The Persuasions do a bang-up job on this, but I believe they altered the lyrics a bit from the original ones. If you haven't seen the "Looking For An Echo" movie, it's time to buy that DVD.
I liked the cover. But I must tell without disrespect the lead singer is not as good as the rest of the band. I love the bassman, the big guy has a good voice and falsetto, and the lady gives a nice touch. But the lead seem to be trying to sing over his range. (or he is as tone deaf as me :-P)
Sorry I'm very critic but I liked, so keep on the good work ;-)
Happy New Year and TKS for your comment, this is the LITTLE guy :-p on Bass. H: 5.5ft, W: 143lb, High-C to Low Low A, any other question?
5 years ago, Santiago TAMURA the lead singer begun to recruit for new doo-wop band and wed be together. This is his band, and I think he made a GJ on music. I hope you check all of THE ZIRCONS on YouTube, thats what he made and prepared.
Even if he sings not so well, when you wanna sing doo-wop, you gonna plan to set the best members, dont you?
I'm totally agree with you. The best members to sing with is the ones you have fun singing together. Anyway I wish I could do half as good as the lead does here ;-)

Reicheg wrote songs for acappella group, The Persuasions, who originally recorded "Looking For An Echo" on one of their 1970's albums.

I don't care if it's not some people's idea of "perfect"...as an avid, lifelong doo wop fanatic, I'm up on my chair applauding! Great job everyone!
