They were legitimate combat units of both countries. Gradually, years after they were incorporated into the military, the 8492, composed of Gray Men Belkan nationalists, gradually became inactive in the military, and began secret operations off government radar.

I like the Offnir and Grabacr Squadrons. They have some really cool manuvers and are the only ones that are a challenge to the Razgriz.
