this choir is absolutely amazing but their biggest problem comes up in "kalla kalla". Their individual "la's" are very muffled and not very clean and crisp. Other than that, great job. :-)
@MusicEdACB I think it does however, add to the fact that this is a mourning/moving on mass performance for the conductor, and this choir is also trained fully in the classical style, and Italian operatic movements are known for such slurring. A bit of enthusiasm during those la-la-las however, would have added contrast. This is meant to be David's duplex of emotion... 9/10
@Icyveins906 I think just a tad bit more separation, and a little more "lilt" (as our choir director calls it) on those dotted patterns would address the issues both of you are noticing. It's such a drastically small change vocally, but aesthetically makes a really big difference. Yet another Whitacre piece I'm going to bug him into doing!
