Awesome computer. I still have mine from December, 2006 (Intel Core 2 Duo @ 2.16 GHz, 2GB RAM, 320GB Hard Drive and a NVIDIA 7600GT). The only thing I have upgraded was to OS X Snow Leopard 10.6.3 and it runs great.

maybe someone set it up to wake up at certain times or something, go to system preferences then go energy saving and uncheck wake for ethernet network access and then click schedule and see if wake up at certain times is on.

how about the new iMac with 3.06 ghz core 2 duo? there's also a big difference how the system (OS X) works with the hardware. To make it easy, you get more power out from a processor using a Mac. Also, what people don't think about is that the second-hand value on macs are extremely good, compared to a PC. that in the long run doesn't make your computer that expensive. and last but absolutely not least, the operating system OS x 10.5. Vista is a joke compared to it. I have used both. tata

Well, i have to agree with djDboy1100, mac is too expensive. I have a macbook myself (for educational purposes) and I enjoy it very much, but for the amount I had to pay for it I could buy a stronger windows based laptop/workstation. But then again, i prefer mac OSX over Vista/XP. Too bad I like to play games every now and then as well. :(

this guy is a complete moron, please do not listen to anything he has to say. the imac is not apple's high end machine, the mac pro is, and is WAY more expandable than the imac. up to 32 gigs of ram, up to 4 TB of hard drive space in four bays, and multiple gpu options, with the standard graphics card having two dual link dvi ports which can support two 30" displays at 2560 x 1600.

That kid was kind of dumb, If he really is a music producer and he's making a living from it he should of went with a mac pro or G5. Sure he'll spend another grand but he could update is RAM to 16gigs, have more then on HD (which is needed if you are recording audio and running virtual intruments) and could of upgraded his computer later on.

You don't need much to do music dude.. My 3 1/2 year old laptop could do great music and that's with 1.5 ghz pentium m, 1 gig of ram, and a firewire external HD for mixing tracks. My current 2 ghz core 2 duo imac w/ 3 gigs of ram and a 250gig hd + 1 TB external is more than I would ever need, in fact I bought it to edit video.

You will, there's not much of a difference between using Boot Camp and an actual PC. I can play the Windows version of C&C 3 at the highest quality with no lag while a million units are attacking each other. Shitty game btw.

i love the imacs, theyre so awesome. the movie 300 was edited in the beta version of final cut 3, thats right the beta version. final cut has been used to edit tons of feature films, and i will always use macs.

Why the heck does it matter.... Avid is theatrically accepted because its been out longer you fools... Premiere Pro really is only used now because of its big brother After Effects paving the way.
