hi im doing an extended essay on picasso's blue period- can someone confirm that these are all the paintings that he had done between 1901 and 1904?? and does anyone have a reasonable hypothesis as to why he changed his style later on in the rose period? one more thing......if anybody knows where i can find letters that he wrote to family or friends during the rose or blue period----i appreciate any help
@santawade - You should really do your own research ;) but I'll offer my view. I feel that the Rose period was a sort of therapy for his grim misery during the Blue. He had returned to Paris, and was becoming more respected in the radical and exclusive scene there. He was in a happy though volatile relationship with his muse Fernande, and was totally infatuated with France - the brothels, the colorful impressionism, and of course the circuses - which led to the first Rose piece, the Acrobats.
can some one help me i dont nkow the name of this painting picasso made but he made it when a city in spain got bombed by nazis thats what it was about
His Blue Period is my most Favourite. Such poor, lost, foresaken souls. They all have a haunting and misplaced look about them, I love his Rose Period too. Beautiful Post.
Terrific video. The blue period is fascinating, and so is Billy Holiday. And (big smile) I see that you have attracted a new young artist who says he can paint better than Picasso. I hope you'll do a collection of his art next?
you must confess... you read my mind, because blue period is my favorite of Picasso works and Billy Holiday voice is a masterpiece...so this video is my favorite art lession! ^_^ Thanks Chris for this 5***** gift! CIAO Donni
