I'm a little dissapointed that the Lib Dems and SNP couldn't form a coalition, not because of an independence referendum but because I hope it doesn't put policies like a local income tax at risk.
I mean there's a quite a lot of common ground between the two parties and I just hope the Lib Dems will try make things work for Scotland rather than being a spiteful opposition.
If you get a tour of Parliment, make sure you take your video camera and bone up on the history to give us all a multi-part history and working knowledge tour of Scottish politics. Hard summer work for your subscribers ... :)))
Hey wasn't that the seat where they announced the LibDems had about 300 more seats than they acctualy did?
Congrats anyway! It's a shame the Lib Dems didn't do so well overall. Hopefully they'll agree to a coilition with SNP. They've ruled out one with Labour compleatly now.
Surly you too would prefer a coilition over a minoity goverment? Lib Dem and SNP policies are probly the most closely matched of all parties! The main diffrence however being Independance.
If they can find a way around this then we may see some real progress for Scotland!
Good, if the SNP refused to budge, then thats that.
The referendum bill will be defeated in Parliament, and the SNP will have to twiddle their thumbs for 4 years, lol (I can sound really nasty sometimes)
Well the Lib Dems will support the policies they agree on in the parliamentary votes, like a new-Forth bridge, income tax (once the figures are sorted out) etc...
Well Done for retaining the seat, a little surprising giving SNP and Lib Dem votes elsewhere. Still I'm sure Jeremy Purvis is a better local MSP than Christine Graham.
It'd be good to see a video of what you made of election as a whole given that the Liberals didn't have a great night everywhere. I mean I doubt you'll be posting a video of the Roxbourgh and Berwickshire declaration. :P
Snow Patrol are fucking gay and politically irrelevant.

Is congratulations the correct thing to say? Well anyway, I am happy your party won out, even without your vote

It's definately the correct thing to say! :D Nationally we didn't go so well, but locally, all our hard work paid off!

Well on an issue-by-issue basis I'm sure the Lib Dems would support the policies it agreed with on a parliamentary vote.

Well, I have a feeling I wouldn't be allowed to have a camera in there (we certainly weren't in the debating chamber when I went on a guided tour)

I meant 300 more votes, sorry! Didn't they call at first 10,990? and then correct it?
DeltaNC 4 years ago
Yeah, but we all knew the correct result beforehand anyway. And the Presiding Officer corrected himself immediately after.
I hope they don't go into a coalition and let the SNP make a fool of themselves on their own.

Well, it looks like we have our answer! Lib Dems are out! There will be no majority administation.

I was there at the other declaration (same place) and I was saving my memory on the camera for the TE&L result. We knew that Euan lost anyway though.
I'll be doing an analysis video of the whole country's results later on...but I still want to relax a bit more, lol!
And we thought we lost it too. Jeremy had even phoned up Nicol Stephen telling him he'd lost. All the spoilt ballots went to the SNP.

I'm very happy indeed! :)
I might get taken on a tour across the Parliament now :D

That would be great! Remember to take your camera!

I'll take it, whether or not I'm allowed to use it is another question.
And it would be a while until I got the chance anyway, Jim needs time to get used to his own office first :P

LOL! If they don't allow you to take vid/photos, then you'll have to do scetches for us!
: )

Congrats! No doubt due to the hard work of all those volunteers ... :)

Well, we did do an awful lot! lol
24,000 leaflets!!!
We certainly deserved to win...although for the entire night we thought the SNP had won.
