What the fuck, I don't get this. Why are they killing him for breaking the China and why is that funny? Who's being told to "think of something else" and why is THAT funny? You Swedes have a really strange sense of humour, or I'm missing something.
It's about one's self image in society. You ever tell a story about an argument with someone, and purposely leave out some of the stuff that helps the other person in the argument? This scene is a visual representation of feeling powerless and pathetic in today's structure. Never being heard. Never being understood. Watch Dr. Strangelove again. LIke thinking if you were run over, and people just came over and watched....----no....body....cares...for.....me.....
he did the tablecloth trick but not too successful in pulling of the trick, broke the china and hen got sentenced to death.
Since he's not that relaxed and easy to strap down, the last comment "du kan val forsoka tanka pa nagot annat" means "try thinking about something else" (easy thing to do just before being executed?)
And wtf would you have done to the child killers, rapists and other pieces of shit that plague our society? Coddle them for life in a nice, cushy prison with 3 meals a day, college and a fan club? Kill the bastards!
I live in the US and true we have our flaws. I don't agree with what a person does that he or she deserves to die this way. I think it is torture. I think my government should go back and look at the Constitution which forbids cruel and unusual punishment. Thomas Jefferson would have put a stop to this if it was going on in his time as President.
@SgtZippzapp But think about the family of the victim. Take Ted Bundy as an example. He killed maybe 30 women. Each of them had two parents, each of them might have had siblings and each of them might have children. So many lives ruined by one disgusting piece of filth who killed for no other reason than his own pleasure.
@SgtZippzapp Yes. Definetely. Bundy erased his right to live by killing so many victims. Here in Sweden, for instance, we've got murderers released after a few years - thankfully the conservative government seems to be making their stays at the penitentiary longer. How many lives is the freedom of a murderer worth? I ask you this. Until recently, the original Laser Man was to be released soon. How many more people should die before he'd be locked away for good?
isnt the guy who pulls the lever meant to wear a hood so the people behind the glass dont see him or a curtain over the window so people dont see until the prisoner is strapped into the chair
In Virginia, the corrections officer who pushes the button to start the electricity is hidden behind a two way mirror the entire time. The inmate is brought into the chamber by six guards, all of whom have their nametags removed and strapped down in front of the witnesses. The only time the curtain is closed in front of the witnesses during an electrocution is after the inmate has been declared dead.

It's a shame it's taken out of context.
The cut that begins this scene is so funny. The way it all builds up.
It's hilarious.
People won't get it from watching just this.
