  • hey man did u fix this..? cos my has the same problem ..!!

  • is this a macbook or a motorcycle?

  • What year is this macbook from?

  • turn it offfffff

  • august 2006, thats about 5 years ago hes probaly already got a new one by now

  • It's making dubstep.

  • There's probably something caught in it somewhere. Poor computer. I have a soft spot for computers. :'( Don't let it die.

  • The fan could also be grinding.

  • That's a CPU fan, it's clogged, I have had much experience with this, If you open the computer the small fan near that vent should have something clogging it if not it needs to be replaced. I would do it myself don't take it in, don't run the computer too long it will overheat, hope this helps.

  • mine started to do that. idk what to do! i don't have the money to take it in

  • Sounds like your fan is goin out

  • My mac was looked at, they uncrewed the bottom, and now i hear that everyday when im on my computer -,-

  • dust in the fan, check the operating temp. but does sound like a wood chipper in the background...:)

  • its too hot on the bottom! let it cool, does this help at all, i don't know, mine does that sometimes.

  • OMG THE SAMES BEEN HAPPENING TO ME! except that i'm on a macbook. i dont know how to get rid of it!

  • Mine just started tonight!!! Ughhh

  • aliens are trying to communicate with you!

  • yep same noise as mine. sounds like a mountain bike

  • mine does that 2!!! :(

  • thats a bad ball bearing in your fan

  • same probleme :(

  • i have the same issue

  • Same here what do I do?

  • dude, my macbook is makign the same noise now

  • its you're fan hitting something

  • Lol i was trying to watch ur video to see if the noise was the same as mine, but i couldnt turn my speakers up over the noise its making D:

  • ive been having the same problem with my MBP it started last night

  • sounds like your hard drive was about to die, bad head. Did it die?

  • I have exactly the same problem. I sent it back to Apple, they replaced the logic board, but the sound is still there every time I try to use my Firewire Audio interface. It makes recording impossible.

  • i know what it is. it s a chupicabra pro

  • @CPGANGchannel im sure you commented this so people would like it and you would feel awesome. but they didnt. and its because your not funny and that was a terrible joke.

  • im having the same problem with my MBP and it's the same model as yours. the problem just happened today! what did you do with it in the end?

  • It's a chainsaw! Quick, open it up and give it sum wood dude!

  • Mine was doing this too! Did you ever figure out the problem/how to fix it?

  • @judyfriend13 its your fan I took mine apart today to investigate, your fan could be dirty, and need to clean it :D after I cleaned the fan it seemed to stop, for now any way

  • Turn off your motorcicle!

  • the fan's shot. replace the fans

  • sounds like a CPU fan or a drive whine.

  • mine's doing this too...weird...

  • Tell that guy in the background to put the saw away, I wanna hear the noise! :D

  • OMG!!! Hahahahahha... this is weird!

  • eject the cd? lol.. no clue ;p

  • This happens to me a a few times already, but usually goes ok again after I just ignore it for few hours. Quite worrying though.

  • BANG!

  • That's either the CPU fan rubbing something or your hard drive is about to die.

  • hmm maybe there's a chewbacca inside it...

  • Macs are perfect and PCs suck. Which apparently, making funny noises, crashing, and shitty tech support make macs the greatest. DURRRRRRRRRRRR.

  • Mine's the same noise too.... How do i fix that??

Aren't macs suppost to be good and silent and resistant???

  • needs a new fan

  • happens here as well. not as loud as yours, but Im afraid it will be in a few days. What to do? Tnx. :)

  • ITS DEFINITELY THE FAN, i ignored this and my fricken macbook pro (early 2008) over heated... and the logic board fried. i suggest you back up everything on you macbook and make sure you fix this or youll lose everything! :S

  • same exact sound as mine

  • my laptop makes the same exact noise

  • sounds like chewbacca

  • mine has the same problem idk how to fix it....

  • Vrrrrrrooooooooooooooom!

  • sounds like a boat :D

  • Mine is making the same fricking noise.

  • sounds like the processor hotrod quieter got busted XD

  • My old Macbook Pro did that. It was very annoying.

  • This sounds like the fan.

  • your cd drive trying to read a shitty disc

  • It does this without a disc in the disc drive

  • its the fan

  • sounds like the cd drive on my old pc that was like on total crack

  • Yep... Tis the fan.

My current HP laptop has (nearly) the same issue.

It gets stuck on itself and starts making that noise. I HAVE to thwack it or else it will start overheating. I watched SpeedFan (CPU temp measuring thing) while it was stuck once, and while on idle, the temperature kept going up and up and up. On normal idle it goes around 140-150 degrees F. (AMD Dual Cores in laptops can be a freakin fireball) It went up to 200 F. Only get that when gaming.

  • @TheBagelTornado An update on that, (this is a secondary account) the internal fan on my HP laptop is now fully dead. It won't even turn. It was reaching temperatures upwards of 210F and shutting down automatically to prevent damage, even while running only Firefox. Temporary fix though; Put my giant fan right on the vent and it works better then what the fan inside it ever did.

Internal fan ever breaks? Just stick a high powered fan on it, cheap fix. ;D

  • It is the cooling fan. Do not 'tap it' to make it go away. If you have the knowledge to remove the casing and replace the fan I suggest you do so; or have a professional do it for you. A fan that is not cooling as it was designed will cost you much more money in the long run; like replacing a burnt out board or processor.

  • Hey there, I looked at this video after googling 'macbook noise' as mine's been making same agonised squealing... Thanks to 'SaveDaveCampaign' comment below, I also tapped the back lightly and all stopped, I now have a nice quiet Macbook again! Cheers! :-)

  • Your fand have been dis-aligned.

    Try to fix it!

  • It sounds like the fan is screaming out in agony while slowly being crushed and killed.

  • Maybe your fan or hard drive ..

  • just means the fan is out of alignment - the blades are hitting something. makes sense right?

  • I GOT MINE FIXED. I took it to the shop and got both fans replaced.

  • well thats an overheating problem + a FAN thats needs to be changed :s bad thing

  • i just had the same problem. I just lighlty tapped the back as someone suggested and it worked! *Try it at your own discretion though*

  • ok... that is NOT happy

  • Could ANYONE answer my question?

Ok everytime i turn on my macbook Mac os x it makes this weird noice in the right top side of my keyboard.

And everytime i turn on youtube for a while it makes this statick noice in the speakers! The noices come and go out of no where! I would call but it is Thanksgiving and all bestbuys and mac stores are closed! :( Please help reply)

  • @OfficialChristina4u same with mine bro. Top right fan seems like it is spiinning out of control. Had the computer for about two years and its worked fine until the other day I heard the noise. Sometimes it quietens down a bit but not for long.

  • @Sakal799 yea i think i will be getting a new on but thanks so much and i wish you luck on getting yours back to normal.(fixed)

  • its perfectly fine just replace the fan at apple store. or do it yourself. i have the same issue its dust in the fan.... it goes on and off for me...

  • where did you purchase your fan? it is now happening to mines.

  • how much do Apple charge for cleaning or replacing the fan....?? My macbook makes a fan noise to, but its not as bad as this guy's lol, just annoying, its really low, but gets a lil louder when the fan speeds up

  • Sounds like fan needs cleaning - happens with any computer over time.

  • MAC zealots, time to FACE REALITY!! Apple is giving you crap Quality control (china) while marketing it with glossy nice appearance, high price, overselling the quality.

  • okay. I had the same think but i found out what it was. It is the fan in the laptop i might stop but if it does not send it back to apple for then to give you a new fan

  • isn't their speakers in that same spot

  • O.o its the fan, that it is dead

try to put some oil on the ball bearing of the fan

  • It's gonna explode!

  • It's committing suicide with a chainsaw.

  • it sounds like a motorboat

  • it sounds kinda like a vaccume

  • the corvette engine inside the mac choked and died in last seconds :'(

  • OMg, my computer is doing the same thing. I tap and it stops for a minute, but today it's been going all day long. How do I work on it myself ?

  • THAT'S COMPLETELY NORMAL!... ok no it's not... your fucked.. but hey if you need great wallpapers for your mac check out my channel!

  • could be a little ball joint on the fan

  • mac wants to be a turbo powered car. lol

  • Holy crap!

  • dude check inside maybe there is a corvette running ahah

  • lol or a chainsaw

  • lmfao

  • that's the fan rubbing a power cable. i had that problem with my external do-it-yourself firewire hard drive. just tuck in the wires.

  • easyyy!

the fan hitting a long wire!

take the long one out replace it with a shorter 'Luzhniki' wire. tuk it in and bresta bingo!

p.s YES I said 'bresta bingo'!

  • i know what that is....thats the fan hitting against loose wires, the service guy didnt go a great job lol....he most likely didnt tuck in the wires very well

  • Sounds like an L10-11 taking off.

  • ahahaha lol nice one :D

  • mine just started doing the same thing!!

did you find out whats wrong with it?

  • That happened to me and it caught on fire. It singed my ball hair.

  • this just started happening to me today >.>

    fml

  • fuck, i have the same noise its so god damn annoying

  • Similar (but much louder) issues with my iMac -- turned out to be fans AND logic board. Don't know if that would apply to MBP but would advise taking to an Apple Genius Bar if at all possible -- only way I ended up getting decent help.

  • sounds like your hard drive or something wrong with the fans

  • I had that noise on my old HP laptop... And it's was the fan!!!!

  • Sounds like something is dieing, THANK GOD I got an iMAC

  • lol it's not the hard drive or the disc drive obviously it's just one of the fans. just needs to be replaced.

  • lol time for a new computer

  • @ethanswish123 lol don't be an idiot.

  • i got the same problem =/

can anyone tell what should i do with it...

  • well there are only 5 moving parts inside a macbook pro that could be making that noise. could be the two rear fans or the cpu fan, could also be the disc drive, or it could be the hard drive. Sounds more like somethings stuck in one of the fans or the disc drive is stuffed.

  • Hi, i buy´d my MacBook Pro 15inch for n week ago. Well, when i´m turning my macbook on, it´s making some sounds.. like the hard-drive are working or something..

"i don´t know " - but can anyone tell if it is normal that my MacBook are making these sound´s when i open my Mac..?

    -Thanks

  • you cant trick me thats not a macbook thats a motorcycle

  • OMG!!! that's exactly what i got!

  • it sounds like is that hard drive something is stuck or lose open it and see whats going on

  • My MacBook is doing this aswell right as I type this :S... Ironic, the day decide on which new laptop I want to get my Macbook throws a bitch fit

  • That's jealousy for ya. ;)

  • dude,maybe..it's givin birth to a new macbook pro.....

  • ROFL!!!! XD

  • @mano24790 i agree. get a new one. looks older than the dirt under the keys

  • dude open it and see if something is stuck inside

  • Maybe it's a transmission from alien life-forms on another planet. Lol. =oD

  • haha maybe it's trying to tell you something

  • lol do you have a diesel generator instead of a battery? hahaha :P

  • Download smcFanControl from the mac website. Works.

  • i think your mac has a shaver inside

  • that would piss me off so much

  • Mine is doing the same thing. It is a cooling fan it has two one under each speaker. Mine is still under a parts warranty, I am not happy at having an 9 month old $2,300.00 computer that is broken.

  • Mine was grinding so I fist pounded it, and wouldn't you know it that bitch shut up right quick.

  • Kinda sounds like a race car!!!!

  • Hard drive spinning. Make back up as already said

  • that sounds like a getting ready to crash harddrive make back up now!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • in the last 20 seconds it sounds like a car tryin to start

  • I have the same problem... is it the fan?? I dust my keyboard all the time? How do I repair this? I been looking all over the net before going to an Apple store which I don't have money for.

  • is your computer less responsive when you hear this noise or not? If it is, then it's very likely your HD, if it is not, it is probably a bad cooling fan.

  • I have the same problem too. Both on my osx and xp. I took it to the genius bar and told them that I was listening to music and web browersing and it started to make noise like that. Annd they told me some stupid response. "You need to get an external hard drive to run your music from" I'm starting to loose hope in mac =(

And I don't download stuff, so that's not the case

  • My MBP does the same thing when I run games with boot camp. I think it's because i downloaded Fallout 3 torrent. My computer was downloading every night for a week.

  • yeah... definately a fan

  • fan.... a dusty fan , that's all

  • Its probably a noise coming from underneeth the keyboard; go to apple, they usually fix it under warranty ;D

  • your cooling fans are broken

  • This is What happens when you download from torrents and leave ur computer on overnite for 1 month.

  • I have this problem, and I don't use torrents

  • i wonder why macbooks get so loud anyway

  • you must vacuum clean the ventilation (cooling system)

    that works !!!

  • the bearings are bad, but it could also the bearings of a fan

  • The fan frame is bent inward and outward so the fan hits the frame.

  • mabey its an alien signal lmao

  • got a chainsaw in there ;)

  • mines doing that! it just started last night, i'm like so depressed over it

  • you need to replace your fans

  • y u gotta insult ppl when theyre in need of help. that aint rite.

  • bad fans

  • that is a fan you should make an appoinment on the aple store and they will fix it for free is you are still under warranty but that is a fan problem

  • that's a bad fan, go and change it...

  • It mated with your lawnmower

  • I have got this problem. Just solved when apple change for a new MPB. This is fan problem. Don't use programs that change the fan velocity

  • Hey, I have the same problem with my mac, not as fucked sounding as the on here (holy fuck thats loud) but still pretty shitty. You say, Apple gave you a new Macbook?

    Peace

  • u must be making those sounds yourself, dont believe everything you hear.

  • Fan? I know my Crappy Dell Laptop Clicks like hell, similar to that, either that or its decided to turn into a lawnmower!! XD

  • i think that is the graphic card i have this with my computer too
