One of the best all time Australian bands, I went and saw them whenever they played, I saw them support INXS, Ride, and The Cure (separate occasions) and in each of these shows they shat on the headline acts.
The synchronicity between Marty Wilson-Piper and Peter Koppes guitars, one on each side of the stage used to elevate me to another place.
If you were listening to these guys in the 80s and other great bands, you shake your head and say where did it all go. Where did all this talent go. Look at what musical rubbish surrounds us now.
And if you're still listening to them in the 'noughties' (they're still recording astonishing albums)...there's no need to shake your head (unless it's in time to the music;)
I think I could listen to this song every day of my life with great pleasure. My favourite band sining my favourite song. Brilliant!

The Church were/are a fantastic band..and SEANCE is my all time fave LPby them.
Why they never became superstars is beyond me... although the LP STARFISH was a success in the US and "Under the Milkyway" still gets airplay.
But early Church is where it's at..and "It's No Reason" is one great song!

Me encantan The Church, son los mejores. Ellos son capaces de transportarme por los cielos y soñar con un mundo muy, muy, muy bonito. Gracias.

Maybe you have just dispelled the fact that there has been very bad music in the 80's, as well as there is much fantastic music today.
And it has never been that easy to discover great music - as soon as you overwhelm your nostalgia, there is a light at the end of the tunnel. ;-)
