hi how do you make the hem of the skirt flow so naturally? do you put ruffles on the cake itself that the fondant will follow the contour, or thats all fondant that just flows like fabric?

@kookooroo2 The waves are from how the fondant drapes - not from cake underneath; )

how do you do the embossing? I assume before you lay the fondant on the cake, but how does it not get smudged when you apply it and press it in place, especially on the bodice?

@kookooroo2 You can use impression mats on the fondant before putting it on the cake and it doesn't smudge if you are very careful with it ; )

@ritzi35 You can use textured rolling pins or embossing mats. Anything that can give a clean impression in the fondant. I use plastic lace mats as well.

@DisneyDiva93 Yes it is a whole doll in there (without the clothing & with her legs wrapped in cling wrap). I got the doll from Big W but they dont sell them anymore. I think they are made by a company called Simba. This Ariel is better than the Mattel ones ; )
