Black patent malt is the malt responsible for that really burnt flavor that you find in some Porters. It's a malt that is really sensitive and can ruin the whole beer if the brewer doesn't know how to use it.

I am drinking the Flying Dog Gonzo Imperial Porter as I watch this and yes this is a good beer. It's 7.8% and I do feel the alcohol. I would buy a six pack, but would just drink one or two at a time.

This beer is delicious! It would go great with a cheesecake! I dont think it should be consumed by the six pack, but it definitely delivers a nice buzz! If this comment doesnt make any sense its because I just had three of these puppies :)

i am finally catching up on my videos, and i saw this on your beer video list, and i had to watch it, since i once tried this beer, and did it blind fold, and it totally tricked me. i thought it was extremely hoppy for a porter, and i didnt taste cofee burnt at all like most porters taste like. flying dog makes good beer. try the in heat wheat if you ever get a chance.

we got a spiller. one of these gave me a buzz.
