  • COME ON...!!!!"

with BLACKMORE and with GILLAN DEEP PURPLE is DEEP PURPLE better than BLACK SABBATH of course..!!"""

  • This song is a "runaway from Black Sabbath" and "coming back to Deep Purple from early 70s".

  • deep purple is a classic phenomena light years ahead of their time. the keyboards of jon lord alone forever changed the face of music history

  • 3:51 blackmores face is the best thanks for posting the quality video/audio is great. best one ive seen for this video.

  • DP's best song. but they have a ton more of great songs.

  • I remember seeing this on MTV, good video.... to bad MTV stopped playing music and started playing social construction.

  • rock!!!

  • ok

this one has the good volume

    good

  • I am returning,, the echo of a point in time,,

    arent we FUCKING ALLL>

This song is so beyond beyond.I was 13 when it came out,,it was like nothing else mattered,,,for a while... ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ahjhhahashgdclkuguj

  • COLD BEER

  • F----- EH!! Rock gods!!!!

  • My dad used to listen Deeep Purple when he was young , the whole neighbourhood were against our family ...maybe because of my dad's love for rock music I listen rock as well

  • Gillan is my favorite vocalist!!! His voice is awesome. #1 vocalist in the world

  • In 1985, I skipped school with my friend Tony. He had a brand new copy of "Perfect Strangers" in the cassette deck of his AMC Hornet. We drove around all day smoking weed and drinking Wild Irish Rose....Every time I hear this it takes me back. Yeah we got busted but I got a great memory. Long time ago. I haven't seen my buddy in 23 years. If you see this Tony, pass the bottle!!....

  • How I can relate to that!

  • Great story bro.

  • This is what huge speakers were made for. Those power chords on top of those BASHING drum beats are outta this fucking world.

  • Love the casualness as the backdrop to an otherwise classic rock song from a rock band that has influenced every dick and puss on the planet.

  • SUPER !!!

  • This might be the best song ever written. Deep Purple is one of those bands that has lived a thousand rock n roll life times long before the internet came along - heck - even long before MTV came along. This video was made during a reunion 20 years before the idea of a reunion became a tired cliche

  • maybe it's just me but I actually think Ian Gillan is hot in this video. Maybe because he's smiling

  • CANCER CURE = RICK SIMPSON'S HEMP OIL

    Ted Kennedy R.I.P.

    Google ... "pubmed"

    Enter words ... "Cannabinoids Glioma"

  • A time when rock ruled!!

  • Amazing!!!!!!

  • #1 SONG OF ALL TIME!

  • 0:37 Ritchie Blackmore IS SMILING

  • 1:18 !!

  • boy, do i remember the partying i did listening to them thru the seventies into the early eighties ;-} wouldn't trade it for anything.

  • Man Deep Purple kicked ass on this album. Gillan and Blackmore were a great duo. But i find it sad that people like posthuman need drugs to enjoy music like this. This is fucking rock and roll my friends.

  • jnl9363 ...

CANCER CURE = RICK SIMPSON'S HEMP OIL

  • This was and is the band of all time

  • total agreement!!! DP & MJ, perfect combination for perfect strangers!!! Yeah!

  • Seen them in concert long ago, he can keep a voice note longer than anyone I've ever seen.... definitely professional.

  • You might want to check out Judas Priest as well...

  • In my opinion, Deep Purple's "Perfect Strangers" is their last best album! I still get a buzz listening to the LP today, even better when you're buzzed on Mary Jane! Viva Deep Purple! & viva my gal, Mary Jane! 2 things sweet Mother-Earth has given to us to celebrate with! Rock n' Roll!

  • ma! wheres the meatloaf?!?!??!!

  • Let me have sex with his girl Mary Jane? I think the "Mother Earth" would be very happy to see her go to bed with a South American ...

  • Unforgettable. I was only 19 !

  • Ritchie smailes :-)

  • Don't get used to it!

  • You must be crazy to confuse the music of Deep Purple with the music of Zeppelin cashmere! Only if the beat of drums that the rest has nothing to do! I think you are musically "retarded" to make such a comparison! Vai is masturbating her asshole that you must have sperm in the head instead of brain!

  • Amazing!!!!!

    Ian Gillan, hot voice!!!!!

  • Perfect and the best formation of the group!

  • MK2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • gillan , powerful!!!!

  • What a powerful song. Perfect Strangers was one of the top 10 concerts I ever saw.

Great memories of the college experience.

Thanks for posting this. Now I gotta go dust off my CD and put it on.

  • If you don't remember where Her Purple Mountains Majesty lie. If you don't remember Queen Elizabeth I as THE FIRST, THE LAST & THE ALWAYS of surname Telphi of HEBREW. IF you don't remember King Charles I was beheaded by Cromwells ignorance. If you don't remember George Washington I as the King that Never Was...then you can't see what is in England today.

  • What is quite obvious I know David sweet Duke that he is however I am Queen & its empire down...down. The day has come for Soverignty over Soverign and its hard to say if the Lost Book illustrations have Rothchild or a region of India noted for Scorpions underfoot. Ready willing & ABEL the Angel of Death will knock his own Cain end for end. Its time for Elizabeth to remember Mary and the Victorious. Thy will be done Thy Kingdom Come.

  • brilliant vocals, brilliant music. damn this band is good!

  • Your my over Lords what thinks man protects me & by power covets the rite to what is between my thighs. No ECHO you R decendents and each generation binds me into enslavement. Everyone thinks they OWN me by soul sold or by whatever connection is oblivious to scrutiny..........

Get off my fucking back & come as family or friend both are terms I've not seen fullfilled!

  • what are you saying ?

  • She's butchering the history of FreeMasonry within the Antient and Moderns branches that includes the House of Windsor [German by heritage who later became King George] and it's timeline in medieval to modern European History.

  • LMAO @ the Moped man. Seems a little thin skinned to me. Didn't mean to hurt your Pop sensibilities- now stop sitting in the corner and holding your breath or you might really hurt yourself. It'll be OK. Good boy.

  • O My Time Mag - Whiz Kid-amundo no mo Finding a place in time is better than all else and raising one without stress but peace of music with math/science and Blackmore's spirit of excellence:

A strand of silver through the sky

Touching more than you can see

The Voice Of Ages in your mind

ooooooo, in the aching of death in the night

Precious Life, Precious Life, Life, Life

  • Geezzzz part II Now working in an ultimate aero(space) and I am playing more Deep Purple than anything else No joking....I'm exposing the next "great generation" to music and I love that they find it as incredible, as well as a mathematical impossibly. It all starts in the simple idea or argument of Newton's space and time, that this simple "knocking", as described is someone justified in the rate of speed, upon your (perfect metal of titanium) backdoor. ;-)

What a cool world to live in.

  • Cheesy but still great

  • Thank-you MushZoomZ for putting this video on for us to enjoy! Please keep up the good work!!

  • I read an interview with Ritchie, when asked if the Blackmore's Night audience ever request his old stuff, he says he will play a crowd favorite or two. He says his favorite songs from the old days (both Rainbow and DP) were "Gates Of Babylon," "Child In Time" and this one, "Perfect Strangers." I would throw in "Burn," "Highway Star" and "Stargazer"!

  • The age of the guitar gods!

  • i like them regardless of who is in it, as long as ian gillan is singing

  • Moped- Are you trying to be funny? Gillan wasn't a good vocalist to begin with?

    OK.

ATTENTION If you listen to Britney or Miley in your normal life you should NEVER comment on REAL talent. Seriously, I think it is time for you to check into rehab- get clean and sober before you do some real damage to yourself.

  • You're right come to think of it Gillan was never a good vocalist. Coverdale was the best Purple ever had.

BTW, I don't listen to Britney and Miley or any of that teen bubblegum garbage.

  • Don't try to be funny...you're just no good at it. Leave it to comedians that know what they are doing. OK

  • ritchie rules of course..morse is good but the band died when blackmoore left

  • Exactly. Without Blackmore... what is the point.

  • I Think all these British bands beat our American bands with their music and lyrics. So Shakesperian...

  • Excellent track

  • Deep Purple was over when Blackmore left in the 90s. Sorry but that is a fact. Blackmore was DP, although Morse is good... he will never be DP.

  • & What about jon lord? & ian paice ????

all 3 where the original forming members in M1 -THE 1ST LINE UP & GAVE THE GROUP IT'S UNIUQE COLOUR!

  • Blackmore is not DP. Gillan & His voice is DP!

  • Without Blackmore and his guitar, DP never would have never made it.

  • Heavier than any of the shit released in the last 15 years.

  • Sometimes you just need to listen to this song...

  • Yup - one of the Top 10 best rock songs ever.

  • isso e metal porra hehehehehe

  • THAT'S A REAL TOP ROCK SONG!

  • Steve Morse is a R&R GOD!!!!!!! I have had the privelege of seeing both Blackmore and Morse Deep Purple and Morse kicks ASS!!!!!!!!!However Ritchie has a few years on him and experience speaks volumes! when Morse is Ritchies age? I can't wait to see what he's putting out!!!!!

  • best lyrics ever.

  • Mr. Jon Lord.....

  • GREAT SONG!!! GREAT VIDEO!!!

However, Ian (the Lead Singer) REALLY neads ATTENTION!!!

  • This is definitely one of DEEP PURPLE's top 3 BEST ALBUMS of ALL TIME.Every song is GREAT !!! This song in particular is excellent -very psychedelic for a PURPLE tune. That's what makes it so fucking great. I have to say though, that I like Steve Morse as the guitarist MORE THAN Ritchie Blackmore, though Blackmore was & is a RnR Legend.

  • On January 18, 1985 they kicked off there U.S. tour in a little bitty west Texas town known as Odessa. Which was a suprise considering you have L.A. , New York Dallas , and many other large cities to kick off a major US tour none the less we were honored to host them on there first US tour in 10 years and I remember like it was yesterday Ian saying that what a great place to start there North American tour. GO MOJO

  • Thats awesome, they shot this video in or around Stow Vermont.Thats where they recorded this album also.I just wish they would get Blackmore back and do one more tour with him.

  • I agree one more album too.

  • Thanks for the audio, can't turn this up loud enough!

  • Love it !!!!!!!!!!!

  • I'm 30 now and my older cousin put me onto this song. I all ready knew who Deep Purple was but I hadn't heard it yet. I love this video which I didn't see till many years later. Brilliant concept and editing. I love it the song is timeless!!!!

  • pornobrillen forever B-) deep purple was one of the first modern bands i came across (i'm 21) .. now i'm addicted to speed metal and they sound rather soft ^^ but still great

  • LOL, i'm 18 and i realy like this one

i'm not use to hear stuff that are over 20 years, but this one is realy great

    Classic metal rules

  • Stowe, Vermont is where this video was recorded, and this song too I think

  • one of the all time great voices of rock!!!

  • oh my god, 25 years??? i thought it was yesterday

that i bought the comeback record of my favourite band.Still greatest rock

  • 25 years!!!! I remember buying this album when it first came out and I still listen to it, great music is forever.

  • you got that right

Dream Theater does a good cover of this one

but the singer here kick LeBrie ass!

  • wow, can't believe this was 25 years ago! I'm older than fucking dirt but this song still roxxxxxxx!

  • Yes 25 years..!! My Renault 5, my right foot in the car's carpet, a smelly cigarette, and this song as louder as possible to cover the noise of the engine....Great moments..:-)

  • WOW, incredible audio quality! Really does the song justice. Very cool video, this was the first "comeback" video they made, showing the guys re-introducing themselves after a lot of years (and bitterness and heartache away) and just hanging out, making some music, playing some football and having fun. Which, I think, is the point of it all in this life. (Ok, maybe not the football for me anymore, hehehe!!)

  • still a great tune, deep purple at there very best

  • Pure music muscle!

  • Saw this tour in Philly - summer of '85.

    it was LOUD and stellar.

  • Very good !!!!!!!!!!!

  • i fucking love Blackmore , Gillan , Glover , Lord , PAICE , best band ever , (i'm not gay...) can't wait when they gonna come to Montreal.... fuck have to wait to summer , even if they gonna come to TORONTO , I WILL GO THERE , FAVORITE GROUPE

  • perfeita, alguem vai em são paulo na sexta?

  • DP isso é som, esta música é maravilhosa...............

  • Love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Don't all shout at me, 'cause I'm a massive DP fan, but whenever I hear this it makes me think that they all sat round listening to Physical Graffitti and said "Sod it, let's do our own Kashmir"

    Which isn't a bad thing.....

  • You're right, it's no bad thing, but I've loved Purple and Zep since 1970 and this is no rip off!! Great to see comments from fans of real music. Peace to you all X

  • fuck green dayy , jonas brothers , this is music

  • Somebody should belly to back suplex Billy Joe Armstrong.

  • Debbie D, CRI, long time ago, this is the song I remember you by.........

    BS

  • yes it is, this is pure R&R, I love Deep Purple, I love my Ian Gillan, The Best Singer Ever!!!!

  • wow omg

  • THIS is pure rock, not some Jonas Brothers.

  • The best Deep Purple line-up without a doubt!!!

  • This song does NOT get the credit it should for being the absolutely kick ass anthem it is!

  • This is what a rock song is supposed to be like, not the crap that gets put out these days.

  • Ian paice WHAT A DRUMMER!!!!

  • This song is a masterpiece of the genre of hard rock. Gillan's vocal interpretation is perfection.

    Jeff Minceyy

  • I totalyy agree they don't put out music like this anymore. Sorry to say.

  • Blackmore smiling !

  • wcw shane douglas theme

  • He used the actual song in ECW.

  • High audio quality? Where?

  • This should have been a much, much bigger hit, but it wasn't marketed well. It is awsome!!

  • I agree, but ya have ta think, this was released around the golden age of the MTV era--not a good time for artists of High Integrity like DP.

  • dream theater is a rush-clone

    i agree with ya

even though, rush takes only 3 guys to do the work of 5 theaters

well: copyng is easy, creating is difficult

  • i happen to like dt mjung is a phenom bass player.but without 2 bands they never would have existed in the first place.deep purple and black sabbath.they created heavy rock, and made the way for metal!!!

  • Where was that video shot? It looks like Canterbury, UK.

  • Dream Theater are RUSH Clones...

    DEEP PURPLE "PURPLE" THE BEST!!!!!

  • Great album.

  • Wow! Good to see this one again. I still have the old Channel 5 VHS on the shelf :)

  • This song owns! A damn classic by far. Simply awsome!

  • Good song! Excellent!

  • The best song of 1985.

  • kingz...

  • ..man THAT SONG SO ROCKS I MEAN REALLY DOES IT GET MUCH BETTER

  • i love paicey

  • Perhaps with the slow death of radio, song writing will leave the confines of the 3 minute box with typical hooks and patterns and get back to writing like this. If not, hind sight is 20/20 and nothing is as clear as this song and others like it.

  • kick ass classic. love the porsches and the insider peek into making the song. awesome.

  • NOTHING CHEAP IN THIS SONG!!!!!

    IN ONE WORD: "GENIUS"

IAN GILLAN, JON LORD, BLACKMORE, GLOVER AND PAICE Are GOOD ESPECIALLY in this Genius Composition.

    KEEP ON ROCKIN'!!!!

  • Ian Paice,...The Sultan Of Drum Cheese and Crash Delux!!!

  • sono i + grandi dell'Hard Rock....i maestri

  • A few years ago I got to see DP for free. I wouldn't have bothered, but Dream Theater was on the ticket and Steve Morse was on guitar. I never thought much about DP. They just always seemed like something high schoolers listened to when getting stoned.

    WOW WAS I AMAZED!!!

It may have been the best show I ever saw! No props or theatrics, just a couple of guys walking on stage and laying it down the way it should be laid down. This was the REAL DEAL.

    100% substance. 0% gimmick.

  • There are many great rock bands but all of them are inferior to Deep Purple.

For me, DP was always the True Definition of Rock (not only Hard Rock).

  • absolutely - always an all-star line-up and class-A material. If you like rock but don't like them you either have no taste or are not listening.

  • EXCELLENT!!

  • It's true that the bridge sounds a bit like Kashmir. How come so many great rock bands are from Britain? Does anyone have a theory? Is it the drabness of the English lifestyle that creates so much melodic and deep music?

I would pay a lot of money to see Deep Purple today and I wouldn't pay a cent to see a lot of modern "acts" like Britney Spears or Christine Aquilera, etc. etc.

Deep Purple will always be alive and well in the rock genre. They are legendary.

  • starts out lookin like a cheap PORNO!!

  • The riff, the rhythm, Gillan's vocals, Blackmores guitar playing, Paice's groove, Glover's steady but cool bass line and that middle part that just sends shivers down my spine. What a song! I think they must've been channeling a bit of Zeppelin's Kashmir in that part, but they still managed to hold their own. Legendary stuff.

  • This video brings back the days of my early Army years. I have been in 2 years when this vid came out. I got so friggin excited when I heard that DP was gonna make a new album. Me and a Buddy of mine bought it back in "84 the first day it came out. They ROCK!! Anyone remeber the MONSTER OF ROCK tours? 1985 had to be the best. Peace to all. (US Army, Hawaii, Infantry, '82-'86)

  • Ritchie B. SMILES in this video, I swear he does it's a first! Cheesy video & not great song , but D. Purple did some GREAT stuff in past. Current guitarist Steve Morse - STINKS, he plays with the emotion of a fart in a trance.

  • You are so right Max. I'm 40 years old and the music I grew up with in the 70's and 80's blows away the Britney Spears crap we hear today. Back then it was about quality talented musicians who actually WROTE THEIR OWN MUSIC and played their own instruments. I think of bands like the Eagles for example, and become saddened as to how music has digressed over the years. Today its about a stage show and glitter with stupid dance routines and the selling of sexuality over substance.

  • Well said

  • Exactly! Back then bands tried to be unique and different from one another. Sure the odd one may sound like "Led Zepplin" for example, but still different enough to be their own. Today studios rules EVERYTHING. Hence why quality band will be found on indie labels because they (the bands) still have control.

  • Great song, great video! I'm glad more young kids are embracing the quality of music from the 70's and 80's. Compared to the shit made today, its no contest.

  • im 17 and ive been listening to this stuff since i was pretty much born, this never gets old, and the newer stuff sucks lol, im glad you guisy have good taste

  • Bravo! senior Paice, Bravo!

  • This song should be in the top 100 best rocks songs of all time. It is haunting and melodic and a musical masterpiece. It is timeless. (Roman and James, we're due for beers soon boys!). Rob.

  • .......hell YEAH IT ROCK MAN I TURN IT UP LOUD

    MIKE
