I'm a little concerned that Obama and his staff have started playing the "Politics of Fear" game - the same thing he accused the previous administration and the conservatives for doing during the election. Watch how many times he uses words like "Crisis" when he speaks. I think it was over 30 times in one particular speech. What happened to "Hope"? Or is the honeymoon already over and the reality of marriage; ie, hard work setting in?

no I have to say most of America is seeing the empty suit Obama and it is pitiful. Why he is setting himself up for a big fall and humiliation is beyond understanding.
The only odasity is the fact that Obama knows he is unqualified and still insisted on running. How irresponcible can Obama be. Totally.

It seems like he is still campaigning. He needs to start actually making changes except for letting a bunch of prisoners out or Guantanamo Bay into the public. I just want to yell at the guy but I cant, he is all most as stupid as bush when you look at the details.

i think most people just havent read the bill. it's over 600 pages long. it sounds great when some politician shoots pathos everywhere, but this is serious. we're talking 1 trillion + the 700 billion for the banks. Get over your boner for Obama and look at the facts.
Fellow Harvard eco-prof Robert Barro even knows this bill is nothing short of trash. I'm poor as dirt but I'll take facts over emotionally-charged cliched preachy speeches.
I supported this man too. I want my change back.

Actually most economists think that this package is the best chance we have at boosting our economy. Tax cuts alone can't do it.

I just listed a world-class economist who is a faculty member of Harvard University, Obama's alma mater.
This isn't our "best chance." This has nothing to do with chance, it has to do with math and logic. Throwing buckets of money on burning fire won't solve an equation. There is a logical approach to the problem but Obama seems convinced he is right and everyone else is wrong. Let's see if the Senate will be as stupid as the House.

Unlikely. Any potential problems that are related to this "stimulus" bill will inevitably be blamed on Republicans and/or Democrats who were skeptical with the bill and forced "unnecessary" provisions that compromised the "integrity" of the bill. Though, considering Obama's capacity to openly admit "I screwed up" without media criticism, even if an apology is given it won't matter. hyper inflation (we're talking USD 1.7 trillion without backing) will drown out any pathetic excuses given.

What the American People called for was your Birth Certificate.
The United States Connstitution requires that the President must be born on American Soil. Obama apparently was not.
He has no repect for the Connstitution and the rule of law. His actions will continue to show this until he is Impeached.
Pulling the card on his Birth Certificate will save the tax payers a lot of money instead of Impeaching him.
Hes a fraud and does not know what he is doing.

One thing is for sure. He is doing much better job than Bush. What he has done so far is awesome. Limiting salary of those executives from companies receiving bail out money, making US less dependent on foreign oil, and etc.

Other than the fact that it will be the single most expensive bill in the USA, the so-called "stimulus" package is not "change", it's just more pork-barrel spending from the democrats on new government services and LESS THAN 10% (or 5%, can't remember) of the ONE TRILLION DOLLARS will actually be spent this year. Most of the money won't be spent until 2011!! That is NOT a stimulus package! That's an excuse to spend money.

Now do yourself a favor. You can online geta full text copy of the plan Obama sent to be voted on. Then get all the others with the extea pork thrown in. but just look at what he put in his first.

People voted Republican senators in to vote for what they want, Obama says they shouldn't and everyone should do exactly as he says. He wants to get rid of the checks and balances system of a 3 branch government. He wants to be all powerful.
