  • Nice

  • Whats the Battery life of the extended and standard ones.

  • ordered mine yesterday is the battery life good then?

  • Which battery do you prefer with the laptop on your lap?

  • Wich battery do you prefer? I mean, does the unaesthetic 9 cells battery worths in comparision to 6 cells? Is it true that you get tired of typing earlier with the 9 cells cause the ergonomic problem? does the 9 cell make the laptop a lot havier?

  • ........ i shud have paid extra for the glowing keys T__T.

i also have a bluetooth light next to the wi-fi light.. but dont have bluetooth built-in... T__T

  • same here

  • Yeah, those two options are only $45 total. I like the back lit keys especially.

  • OKOKOK! I REALLY NEED HELP! I have a 1537 and the batterry is standard. But I pushet that button on the bottom that should remove the battery. Since It didn't get off, I'm really affraid that I've pushed the button that changes the voltage! I don't dare put in the adaptor! And the stupid key won't go back on the other way! Is this the voltage key or simplly the battery thgingy! PLEASE REPLY AS SOON AS YOU CAN!

  • If your talking about the button that lights up the LED strip that just tells you about how charged the battery is. There is no voltage switch on laptops. The voltage is regulated by the AC/DC adapter.

  • No I talked about the batterry trigger. I don't know what it's called, but I understand that it is'n tomethin dangerous! Thanks! Now I know there is no manual swith!

  • how does the 256 mb card preform anyway?

  • why do you have 2 of the same laptop?

  • Ugh...should of never bought the extended battery. Freaking dell...I am starting to really hate them. Moving on to Sager.

  • Why do you complain about the extended?

  • Its annoying. I don't really like how it lifts up my laptop. Also my bag doesn't fit the extra extention of the battery so I had to get a new one.

  • Yep it sure does.

  • helloo, i was just wondering if the new studio 15 has them touch sensative keys at the top, which say like play pause and volume? please anserwer :)

  • if you're referring to the most recent studio 15, then no it doesnt, as many users had problems with them. so they have put them onto the actual keyboard where you need to press FN and the correct key for them to work.. eg FN + F9 .

    hope this answers your question

  • how do you make the backlight of the keyboard worked? because mine is not working. im looking for any solutions, im very desperate to make it work. hope you reply ASAP!!

  • Hold down the Fn Key which is located on the bottom left of the keyboard and hit the Right Arrow Key. That will toggle the back light from Off, Bright, and Dim

  • I am buying a studio 15... 2.4 ghz , 3GB ram, 320 HDD, 512mb ATI raedon 4750, 9 cell batt .

Only drawback and big drawback - there is no fingerprint scanner :x

    Nice review

  • I have the newer one and mine came with the finger print reader and the graphite finish

  • thanks for posting this

I'm seriously debating getting the xps 1330 or a studio 15 laptop im stuck :(

  • 2 things

    1) is 3gb of memory alot or is it even good?

    2) which one should i get for my studio backlit keybord or finger print reader????

  • 3gb is good. your computer should perform pretty well. it is always worth to upgrade the ram but 3gb will perform well.

i am ordering mine at the end of the month and will be springing for 4gb just because i want my comp to be really fast.

  • whoops forgot to reply to the other question. i would reccomend the backlit keyboard because you will use it much more often. the fingerprint reader is cool but speeding up the login for the computer and other internet logins is just not as useful as a lit keyboard in a dark environment where there is no lamp around. if you have to chose between the two then the lit keyboard is much more helpful and essential than the fingerprint reader.

  • thanks

  • depends on the ram speed.

  • can you do a video. charge them both to 100 percent and put screens ad sound at the same and show us the battery life thank you

  • I posted the battery life video they werent exactly at 100% but they were close time time difference is significant so you are able to get an idea about the 2 batteries.

  • how many hours does the standard battery give you (jst an approx.)

  • About hour to an hour and a half

  • oh....i heard that the 6 cell on the studio lasts up to 2.5 hours....well that sucks cuz i ordered the 6 cell because the 9 cell has a big butt

  • mine lasts 2.5 hours :D

  • There is a program called udpix you can google it that may help. Youtube it also there are ways to fix, I have had no experience with fixing dead pixels though. You could also call Dell and ask for a replacement.

  • Yup sounds like a dead pixel. Usually they are green or red but may be another color.

  • The little cylinder that is flashing is the hard drive activity light. The wifi button on the left is not supose to glow at all. When the computer is off if you push it it will blink four times or so if wifi networks are present. If you push it when you are in windows wi-fi catcher will pop up and tell what networks are in the area.

  • I have no idea if it will or not. Post a video of it when you get a chance it would be interesting to see if yours has the design.

  • When I got mine I unpacked it plugged it in and booted it right up. It had just about a full charge. I waited until it was fully charged to unplug it. Just as a tip if you use it a lot and have it plugged in you can right click the battery icon on the taskbar and click Dell Battery Meter>Battery Life Tab> Check Disable Battery Charging> Then OK. This will prevent overcharging of the battery. To enable battery to charge shutdown, restart, or do the same sequence. If you use standby it wont charge

  • It should be pretty fast, the specs are on the lower and but its still a great computer. Your battery life will depend on what you are doing. But if you are just word processing and browsing the net then probably between 1.5-2 hours screen brightness also makes a huge role on battery life. Also did you get the regular screen, the high resolution screen, or the LED screen. I heard the LED screen improves battery life by almost 1hr.

  • 4gigs of ram but how fast are they running? 800Mhz? or 667? i just got a studio 15 with the AMD turion dual core cpu at 2.0ghz 4gb ram at 800mhz and ati radeon hd 3200...

  • Both laptop's have 4GB, DDR2, 667MHz 2 Dimm

  • they are nice

  • if you put the 9 cell bat on the newer one would it get elevated

  • Yes its the battery that raises the computer up.

  • Yes the new one does have the scroll function but dell decided to remove the graphics from the touch pad. The older one is the 9 cell and the new one is the 6 cell battery. Both laptops are 1535's. The 1537 laptop can have the T9400 CPU which has a FSB of 1066Mhz and 1535 has the 800MHz FSB.

  • Thanks so much for the info on the extended battery. I too could not find info until I came across your video. What is it like when the laptop with the extended battery is on your lap for long periods? Is it relatively comfortable?

  • Yes it is comfortable and since the extended battery is bigger it gives it that extra room to breath so it does not get too hot. I had an Inspiron 8600 and the bottom of that got so hot my legs would start to sweat.

  • Thanks for the video it was a good one because i am getting one for christmas. But why did you get two laptops?

    Thanks.

  • The laptop on the left is mine and my mom liked mine so much she bought the same one which is the one on the right but had no need to max out the specifications.
