You could make the message more subliminal by editing it for only one frame (1/30 of a second for video; 1/24 of a second for film). Many video editing systems will allow you to make a quick 1/30-of-a-second video insert edit.

BTW, Montclair was one of two brands American Tobacco came out with in the mid 1960's (the other was Carlton) with very low tar and nicotine levels. Montclair was a menthol cigarette, Carlton wasn't.

@phatJtrigga I saw this commercial as a kid. It's the real deal (except for the "SMOKE" messages edited in). Despite the effective ads, Montclair cigarettes weren't around very long. Neither was Cavalier, another cigarette introduced around that time (my guess would be 1964 or 1965) and only sold for a few years.
