  • This woman is (as we say in México) CHINGONA! When i grow up i want to be like her :)

  • what's the name of the whistling in this scene?

  • ryan reynolds should've watched this before getting buried in buried

  • im sorry, there smthg I just didnt get. How the hell did she manage to get through the godamn sand and crawl all the way up?

  • @MsLynno1 I think it's supposed to be metaphorical, showing the lengths she will go to, to stay alive in order to get her revenge. Another example of this idea appears in trainspotting when he climbs into the toilet for his drugs.

  • @MsLynno1 Where theirs a will, theirs a way!

  • Sergio Leone + Ennio Morricone = Perfect Movie

Quentin Tarantino + Ennio Morricone = Perfect Movie

  • Tarantino is God. Seriously

  • OK PAI MEI HERE I COME!!!!!

  • Tarantinos movies are materpieces, very memorables.

  • It easily gets a place in my Top 10 movie scenes of all time...

  • One of my favourite scenes ever!

  • One of the greatest scene ever

  • 4:12 Left5Dead

  • Wish this was the ending for '' Buried ''

  • She takes that flashlight like a champ at 1:50..... LMAO!

  • I love it when she whispers "Bitch" I just loved it!

  • This was the point in KB2 where I realized it wasn't gonna live up to KB1. That escape is just...lame.

  • @starkrayz ...gtfo. She untied herself, PUNCHED through the wood of the coffin, and climbed up through 6 feet of dirt. If you want to give that a try, be my guest. Stop trolling and leave the video to the people who actually like the scene.

  • OK SALIR DE UN ATAUD SEPURLTADO ES MERAMENTE IMPOSIBLE PERO HAAA K ESTA GENIAL LA ESCENA ARRIBA KILL BILL

  • god this scene was perfect.. i really enjoyed watching this film in the theater

  • Which Tarantino film do you think was the best? Inglourious Basterds, Pulp Fiction, or Kill Bill (1 & 2)? I put my money on Kill Bill.

  • @MovieMaster0001 i put all i have on kill bill

  • did buried rip off this?

  • as soon as i heard this piece, i knew it had to be morricone.

  • The soundtrack is from the movie "Il Mercenario", a western by Sergio Corbucci, starring Franco Nero (who played "Django"). A must-see!

  • fuck this song makes me wana kill something!!

  • I have that exact same open razor. Wierd. I hope I don't have to dig it out of my boot and punch my way out of a coffin anytime soon.

  • I can't imagine that a movie experience like KB1&2 could EVER happen again. So fucking masterful.

    IMHO, it's Tarantino's Magnum Opus.

  • amo kill bill

  • i love the music and the determination that she has when she is breaking free. amazing!!

  • Amazing Kill Bill and the powerful soundtrack..........

  • 2 people were burried alive

  • The music when she finally breaks free... my god....

  • It's the composer that makes it so great. Il Mercenario- L'Arena, by Ennio Morricone. Quentin Tarantino uses old Ennio Morricone scores in many of his movies, this one in particular being from "The Mercenary", a 1968 spaghetti western. With a different soundtrack this scene could have easily been not nearly as enjoyable. Thank God Quentin brought this old classic back so people today could enjoy it

  • @Llamageek I remember watching it in the cinema..when shes laid on top of the grave the whole audience clapped, it was brilliant..

  • Nicely done BUT it is even more epic in the original. Type "Il Mercenario- L'Arena" to find the original scene (also it is one of the videos on the right). Still, well done by Tarantino.

  • :') such a beatiful story!!

  • She gives me a felling of believing in yourself no matter what.

  • I love uma. cause of this movie. serious.

  • u know that new movie "buried"? that guy shud've watched kill bill so he cud break out :)

  • ZOMBIE!!!!!!!!!!!

  • the music can only compares with the wish of freedow, living, and killing BILL... incredible,.

  • amazing scene :)

  • I want this to be on myth busters lol i wonder if its possible for someone to do that

  • actualy, it's been busted already. sorry

  • @mauwarrior it's been for a year now you punk

  • Truly a great scene. I remember sitting in the theatre and the music just touching me, very inspiring.

  • Damn he blew that horn didn't he?

  • @Llamageek you can bet, that's a sure thing

  • EPIC

  • i remember and love this scene

in the theatres, when she escaped, every1 burst out cheering, including me

love this scene AND this kick ass movie

QT, ur a genius, with this scene and the right song for it

  • I'll say it right out: That is the most beautiful trumpet solo in music. Its clarity and sharp tone shake the timbers of any theater.

  • la musica solo se puede comparar con el deseo de libertad, de vivir, y de matar a BILL... Increible, pasara a la historia

  • Great scene, no doubt. But the song originally came from "Il Mercenario" an amazing 1968 Western with a GREAT ending. Its here on YouTube.... check it out.

  • zombies!! I'm not gonna let these damn vampires beat me!

  • From Imprisonment to Freedom!

  • the best tarantino's scene ever!!!!!!!

  • Ennio Morricone is the best!!!!!!!!!

  • i love this scene in this movie

    ^.^

does anyone know the name of the music going on ?

  • @XxFallingHelenaxX Ennio Moricone L'Arena

  • i'm pretty sure this music is briefly in inglourious basterds during the scalping scene

  • @thegreatbrandony yeah i was just watching it and the scene at the first attack, the song its played

  • I want this song playing if I ever have to punch my way out of a coffin.

  • Crap, spelled "Hate" and "Pai Mei" wrong.

  • Meh, nobody's perfect

  • The first time I ever watched this scene, I was scared xD I thought she was gonna die. I ahted Budd for putting her in there. Then, after the whole Pai Mai scene, this came on. And the music was so....awesome. Inspiring. There are so many awesome words to describe this song. I was extremely happy when she starting punching the crap out of the coffin. You go Beatrix!

  • Pai Mei would have been proud!

  • epic. this jus gave me the motivation to push on no matter what gets n the way. impossible is nothin. i too am america. lmao i am sooooo high.

  • Excellent editing.....absolutely phenomenal song fills the scene.

  • You're right,"phenomanal song" for a "phenomenal" scene,

    Tarantino is a genius.

  • it makes u want 2 be a hero ! =)

  • amazing scene and he used a part of this song in inglourious bsterds which was also amazing

  • They must play this when am dead, or almost died. If am not died and hear this song, am sure ill get out of that coffin

  • @ronbrug27 who would thumbs up this comment. You sound like a fckn retard

  • every time i think of this scene it puts a smile on my face

  • Wonderful, Quentin is a genio

    I love you

  • tarantino is really something else. i am not saying ALL his movies are masterpieces. but he really is one of the last very exciting american film makers. i mean when one of his movies come out, its like nothing else even compares to the emotion of his scenes, a single scene from pulp or kill bill, like the making of the sword could stand up to so many entire full movies, just one scene.

  • @ollymcguirk for example this scene blows away gay ass twilight new moon by a long shot, his movies destroy

  • Ollymcguirk has no business comparing Quentin to a bunch of amateur and prima dona filmmakers or actors from the puny Twilight series. Olly only wishes they had the intelligence and ability to create iconic and powerful pictures like Tarantino.

  • took the words out of my fingers.

  • @ollymcguirk What I love is every couple of weeks I come back to listen to the theme for the last 3 months, I see your comment and remember how much I agree with your opinion.

  • This scene, as the whole movie, is a masterpiece.

  • Perfect music for that scene

  • emmn that bitch is fierce

  • Comment removed

  • inspiring

  • Man no lie, in order to succeed you got to just pond your bloody knuckles against the pavement

  • The one thing that make make me rise from my grav,,, bed the morning

  • I wish I could see this again for the first time in the theater.

  • This is my favorite part in the movie...i lkove to listen to this music..and the music that plays when bill takes his last 5 steps

  • =D What music is playing during his last steps? :)

  • The Demise of Barbara and the Return of Joe.

  • Thanks a lot

Can't say how much i love ennio Morricone's Music C:

  • He is certainly an excellent composer.

  • The Demise of Barbara and the Return of Joe

  • Took the words right out of my mouth!!!!!!

  • SAME GOES

  • inspirational music by Ennio Morricone..

    wonderful movie too.

  • TOO RIGHT !!! I listen to it at least once a day :)

Once it starts I don't want it to stop ! Morricone is a genius :)

  • I feel exactly the same when listening to the l'arena, you said it,you just don't want it to end

  • You are cool :)

  • Art.

  • Grandiosa escena con grandiosa banda sonora del también grandioso Ennio Morricone...esto me motiva a seguir adelante afrontando los problemas que parecen imposibles de solucionar.

  • Opino igual. Una grandiosa escena.

  • Whatever the hell that meant, I'm pretty sure I agree

  • oh hell yes

  • OMG, AWESOMENESS!!!!!!!!!11

  • excellent music and movie.

  • why did she take off her boots?

  • She needed the knife in her boot to cut the straps on her hands.

  • shows the nature of the human spirit!

  • One of the best scenes I've ever seen from ANY movie. I love how it tells the origin of her punch and the music fits so perfectly. Such a triumphant scene!

    10/10

  • SIGNED!!!

  • No kidding. But the movie is hardly set in any "real" world. Anyone who thinks it has any bearinf in reality is seriously in need of a good skull-kicking. This is a mythic world of Leone Westerns and Shaw Brother's martial arts pictures come together.

  • Yeah, when I realised it was ridiculously over-the-top, with The Bride's sword EASILY slicking through the Crazy 88, that's when I started to love this (these?) films.

  • No shit Sherlock. I'm sure everyone knows this is physically impossible to do in real life. It's a damn movie. Think outside of the box if you can. Take your realistic "It can't be done." bullshit elsewhere.

  • "Outside the box" xD

  • outside the box, quite literally :D

  • Actually it can be done but it depends on the coffin. Budd cheap ass just nailed together 4 pieces of wood. because he made a shitty coffin it was easy for her to break out.

  • actually if you look AND listen´at the scene again. you wíll see that the bride gently knocks on the coffin "roof" to find a place where there is an airpocket above the coffin.

You will also hear that the noice of the final knock is different from the others. That means she found her air packet.

  • "Come on, you bitch."

  • beatrix "zombie" kiddo :)

  • Woah guys ... this scene is amazing !!! a little fresh air runs over my back every time I see it !!!

Her eyes and courage... She rocks dudes.

This song also reminds me the word "STRENGHT", if we are in some dangerous situation, we have two choices,

    1°: Give up !

    2°: Fight !

I select the second option, and that's what BB did to keep her alive...

    E X C E L L E N T !!!

    See ya'

    Luchiano

  • you know, a much easier way would be try and wedge the knife into a small crack/splinter. and slowly peel side to side. Its slow, but one slinter at a time, u get a hole in the wood.

I "picked" my way though a 1/4 plywood with a jackknife this way.

  • that wouldnt have been cool though

  • Yeah, slowly, slooowly... In spite of being a disciple of Pai Mei - there wasn't enough oxygen for slow motion...! ;-p

  • I love this song, and tied to this scene it's amazing, so encouraging. It's like something different starts to run in my veins. I also love the smile that you can see from Uma's eyes when she finally cuts the rope :)

  • Perfect !!!

  • stop it at 1:51 XD

  • stop it at 1:51 XD

  • That is one uplifting scene.

  • the music are amazing!!! the scene more

  • I love his scene the music fits so well.

  • Honestly, this is one of the best-executed scenes in recent film history.

  • Such a cool scene, everyone involved in this scene (Uma, Quentin, Ennio, whoever did the camera work for this scene which would definitely be difficult to film properly) did an amazing job. I loved how the music reached its final, tremendous climax as her hand bursts out of the ground like a zombie in a horror movie.

  • Oops, sorry about the duplicate post!

  • what's the name of that music in the background?

  • wait, NVM :X

  • L'Arena by Ennio Morricone. It is found on the Kill Bill Vol. 2 soundtrack.

  • @bigdub85

Its originally written as the theme for the movie "Il Mercenario/ The Mercenary".

  • Ich finde diese scene sowas von absolut geil...... woar geht garnich... KillBill oder besser Tarantino Fans wissen von was ich rede... Gänsehaut....

  • Just...incredible.

Uma, Quentin, and Ennio...all three at their finest.

  • i love her cowgirl's boots.

  • The first time I saw this movie I thought she was going to die...even though I knew she couldn't for the movie's sake. Waht a song...Morricone's music is so memorable and fits this scene as perfectly as any song has suited any scene in movie history.

  • i'be been looking for this! thank you!

  • Morrcione does it again! This is what made the spaghetti westerns memorable. HIS Music shows the feeling and builds up the tempo in the scene..Truly a master of such moments.

Leone was a master ahead of his time as well. He truly would have gone even further and probably would have brought the westerns back. We need another Sergio Leone..

  • A mix of two genies... Quentin Tarantino e Enio Morricone.

And of course, one godess... Uma Turman.

    Beutiful

  • I could'nt agree more

  • cancion extraurdinaria

    ^_^

  • This scene is still so inspiring and moving. I still cry every time she says `Okay Pai Mei, Here I go.`

  • actually she says "okay Pai Mei, here I come"

  • It is the best song!

    ennio morricone is a genius.

Each time i heard it, it gives me power...

  • This song gives me chills.

    I love it.

  • This is my survival-theme. When ever I feel it hopeless to cope different situations, feeling like the Bride when burried alive, I try to remember this hymn. It makes me feel better and fight. Five stars out of five.

  • Determination, Skill and Hope.

    Great - 5/5.

    -Tony

  • kill bill became my favorite movies after watching this scene

it's so beautiful, so powerful, so kick-ass

i'm slightly claustrophobic so i guess it meant to me even more than to most people

  • was unbelieveable when I saw it in the movies...

  • L'Arena è stata usata ne "il mercenario" spaghetti western. Sta scena è molto più bella!

  • this is my favorite part of both movies

  • why did budd give her the electrik??

  • if you mean the flashlight, its because he still feels bad about what his brother did to her

  • Because I think he felt bad because she was an old comrade, so he wanted to give her some relief from the darkness. His mistake.

  • The best scene from Kill Bill, I love the music.

  • I love this scene: it makes me feel like being stronger and want to improve myself...

  • i have exactly the same feeling about this scene!!:D

  • strangly enough i think jack palance was in kill bill as he was in Il Mercenario

  • anyone know what the time signature of that whole intro part is before the trumpet solo comes in?

  • who knows Ennio Morricone is Crazy

  • Crazy like a genius.

  • Not sure what a time signature is. If you mean like 4/4 3/3 or whatever. I'm not a musician. I don't know but I know the trumpet starts playing at 1:32 if that helps!! I love this song. It makes you feel like you can do anything. I find it very inspiring. I'm glad I'm not the only one

  • I found this scene so very touching:

Pai Mei's most precious lesson to her as a Warrior was not combat, but to love and respect oneself. Only when she broke through the coffin of fear into a new life of hope did she truly pass Pai Mei's test.

I cry every time I watch this scene.

  • huh!!!
