  • Can you use a dvd player ?

  • Is dvd recorder and a dvd player kinda like the same thing? Do they have the same options? Please reply back . Thanks

  • i only have scart cable

  • thnx for reply. but has every tv an hdmi input or do i have to buy an other tv for hdmi input?

cause my tv is old and i dont know how i can see if my tv has an hdmi input.

  • hey, i wanned to ask how you connected your dvd recorder to your television.

can you make a short movie of how you connenct dvd recorder to television?

  • @DutchMCers I figure I might as well re-record this whole tutorial soon. I can do a much better job today. If I'm correct, our DVD Recorder was connected to the TV with an HD cable. It's one cable that goes from the HDMI out on the recorder, to the HDMI in on the tv. But if I get some time next weekend I will re-film this tutorial.

  • if you have internet on your wii and logged in then can you record on your nintendo wii console? PLEASE answer back

  • @arnav007ify I don't think that's how it works. Maybe I don't fully understand your question either, but you can't record the wii just because it's connected to the internet.

  • @Vdeogamer could u please get that video out? Cause I really want to record a super Mario galaxy series with voice

  • Just wondering, is there any lag at all when you play brawl or any game? Because when I use this method it lags just a little like not even a second delay, but it is there. I personally don't mind it, but when my friends come to play they all complain about it and make me connect the wii straight to the tv, which is annoying.

  • can you record voice with this methed

  • @TheRDGaming No, but this upcoming weekend I will be making a new tutorial to show how to get voice for walkthroughs. Hopefully I can have it out by next week.

  • Ok, so I'm just gonna try this someday, when my mom's not home. If it works, I will show my mom, and then ask her if I can make walkthroughs. (And this time, without actually break the tv XD) If she says yes, I can record whenever I want. If she says no, I can record when she's not home. If she says No, and if you do it, you'll have trouble, I don't care. THANKS FOR THE VIDEO :D

  • What if you use a cam corder mine is fine a Sony bloggie well when I get a new one

  • @MrIman2002 Well, as I showed in this video, the quality just doesn't compare.

  • It only shows the wii menu for a split second and then it goes to a black screen and it saids the same thing so what do I do to fix it?

  • @emrere4 I'm not quite sure at this point. You might want to read a little bit more about your specific recorder, but the recorder might be blocking it on purpose (which again doesn't make any sense). Read on it a little bit. Maybe somebody else has the same problem.

  • I connected my wii avi cables to the ONLY red yellow and white spots and I put in my dvd plus rw and I can hear the sound of the wii menu but it saids that this program is not allowed to be recorded please help! My dvd recorder is TOSHIBA

  • @emrere4 You said the sound shows up but does the video? It's either one of two things. Either the recorder is purposely preventing you from recording (which wouldn't make any sense) or it can't record onto that type of disc. If the video isn't showing up, it's probably a bad cable, that or you haven't configured the source from which it is going to record yet.

  • Your Dad's a good DJ.

  • is it a dvd player or a recorder cuz i dont have a dvd recorder plz reply

  • Do I need an Empty CD to do this

  • I'll really love if I could find a way to record. If you help me with this I'll really love that! Thanks.

  • I have a problem, Vdeogamer and I hope you can help me out. But this is the DVD player I'm using and I can't figure out what to do. Theres no AV-IN in the back off my DVD player and the DVD remote haves no Record or Source. These are pictures of my DVD I gotten.

I can't post images so go on google and search "Philips DVD player" it's the second picture there. My DVD is without the VCR and the smaller one. Is there no way I can record because I always wanted a DVD Player that recorded it.

  • @Karazeru I'm afraid that one won't work for this, sorry. But there is an alternative cheaper method to recording great video game footage. It's called a capture card, and I'm going to be uploading a video explaining just what it is within the next few days or so.

  • @Vdeogamer Alright thanks man, I'll keep an eye out on the video when you make one. I heard about these capture cards but no idea what they are, so I'm sure it'll help me greatly.

  • @Vdeogamer please do it!!!!!

  • so the wii is not plugeed into the tv at all

  • @SuperSuperRaccoon Nope. Wii to recorder. Recorder to TV.

  • awesome! Way too long!

  • this was sick bro, i havent tried it but im sure it works! thnx!! :D

  • @puppypuffle17 I'm making a video about an alternative way to record your video game consoles for much cheaper. It's called a capture card and the consumer models are relatively inexpensive, but get the job done.

  • @Vdeogamer where can i get a capture card? and do you know how to record it live?

  • Comment removed

  • How do you connect your wii to your TV and your DVD recorder at the same time?

  • Hey, it's me again. I connected my wii to my dvd player+recorder. This was pretty good, but it seems that the the TV is a bit late. What I mean by that is that when I press a button, it reacts one second later. I made some videos of me playing New Super Mario Bros. Wii, so if you could see that, then it my help you help me. I hope you can, and do so!

  • Soothing sounds of the win menu?!

  • I HAVE THAT GAME

+ I have a world record in it!!!

  • how do you connect the tv

  • so yo need another cable thing?

  • @crazywilljump Actually the Philips Dvd Recorder should come with a double component cable. So No not really because the philips works as a vcr would.

  • @NotSoRomanianReviews aahhhh thank you!!!

  • there is a game capture device that can record Gameplay from a Wii. It is the AVerMedia Game Capture HD that includes a component cable for a Wii. This is standalone and does not connect to a computer. Just one click and record directly to a HDD. It can also record HD content from a PS3 or Xbox.

  • @khn51583 How would you get the footage to your computer?

  • @Vdeogamer my wii has 5 wires green white blue and 2 red...what do i do?

  • i pluged the wii red yyellow white to the dvd/recorder and s video from recorder/dvd p,ayer to tge tv do i have to use only av cables

  • @NastyKilla321 Hmmm...Well, you should try just av cables and see if that works. If that doesn't work let me know.

  • @Vdeogamer Does that work with a dvd player? like i could plug my wii into my dvd player cause i don't know what's the difference between a dvd recorder and a dvd player they both look the same..

  • @azzaipdivad Difference is that a recorder can record to a DVD and a player can only play a DVD. If it has a recording function, it's a DVD Recorder.

  • i did everything u said n the color is black n white and no sound

  • @NastyKilla321 Did you try to plug in Red, Green, Blue, red, white input cables into a Yellow, red, white input?

  • ugh, all the videos on this topic require an expensive machine, im 14, i cant get any stuff like that! i was expecting to get tips, i have a sucky camera and i laptop webcam, they work fine, but i need to drastically turn down the brightness to view the game. can anyone help?!

  • @MegaVidFan1 Well I don't know if you'd be able to adjust the camera settings, but you might be able to tweak the brightness of your webcam in settings. But I have another option available for you that is way more affordable than this. It's called a capture card, and I'm going to be making a tutorial over it this week. Stay tuned. :D

  • crap i cant do i dont have a wii

  • I'm wondering how I can record my voice as well. I have a gaming mic so I can use that. I'm just wondering if I have to record it with something else.

  • @bufflaoe2 I'm going to upload a tutorial on that later this week.

  • I have a "scenario question". So say that my regular TV is in the Tv input, my Wii is in "ant 1" and my DVD Recorder is in "ant 2", once I plug my wii into my DVD Recorder will the Wii still be in "ant 1" or "ant 2"?

  • @WiiGamer1015 Well first I kinda want to know what ant stands for. And I think you've got it kind of wrong with your setup. I think I understand your question though. Once you plug in the wii into the dvd recorder, the wii becomes part of the dvd recorder input. So you're wii is input to dvd recorder, and your dvd recorder is input to the tv.

  • @Vdeogamer Thanks :D Thats exactly what I was looking for :) I realise my question was a bit fuzzy, but it made sence in my head :/ sorry. Anyways thanks for helping :D

  • @WiiGamer1015 Yeah, I know how that is. I'm glad I could help. If you're interested, later on this week I will be making a tutorial over capture cards. Capture cards can record an rca input and record it directly to the computer. It's a much simpler method than the above. I'm hoping to have it uploaded by the end of next week.

  • @Vdeogamer Haha I'll be sure to watch that!!! Your vid helped a lot and I got it to work GREAT!!! I just can't figure out now how to play/rip the DVD to my Windows Media Player :/ Do you have a video for that?

  • @WiiGamer1015 Well I don't use Windows Media Player. Instead I use a freeware program called Free DVD Video Converter. It's an easy-to-use free program and get's the files ripped into files that you can use for editing.

  • @Vdeogamer Awesome, thanks! :D I'll have to look into that, your vid's are great, keep up the work!

  • all i have is avi out what do i do!!!

  • @dogzday22 In that case, it probably isn't a dvd recorder.

  • My wii didn't have red white and yellow cords. It had red white green red blue cords. What should I do? And my dvd recorder didn't have an AVI in port.

  • @KTRBOT The red, white, green, red and blue cords will not work for this standard method. If you need said red, white and yellow cable, I'm pretty sure you can buy one inexpensively from gamestop. Second, not all DVD players can record an input. When I say AVI input, I mean an input for red, white and yellow. Now on the other hand, if you have an input for red, white, green, red and blue cords, I would recommend using that instead. You'll end up with much higher quality.

  • ya, you can't really edit to make it better. I have relized that now. Thank you to try and make a video on recording in hd

  • i subbed and liked

  • @ftwgunnerpwns Hey, I've been thinking the same thing about the dazzle. I think it does not record in HD and it is like rated about 6 or 7 out of 10 on recording game play. I want to record MW3 game play too and i think the dazzle is the cheapest to buy and records o.k. but you would have to edit it to make the quality better.

  • @TheMarshmello26 Well, you really can't edit the quality to be better. That's impossible. This weekend, I'll make a tutorial on how capture cards work, and then I'll start looking into how to record video game consoles in HQ or HD. Don't know when I'll have a tutorial for that one though.

  • hey i want to make MW3 montages with good HD video quality, could i use a Dazzle DVD recorder? i dont know, so please help?

  • @ftwgunnerpwns Well, it depends on whether or not dazzle can record HD. HD capture cards are somewhat more expensive. For youtube, I would almost say that a normal composite capture card would work just fine. The HD is nice, but for youtube, I don't think it's necessary. It's up to you how much you'd like to spend on a card or recorder. I'd do some research on it though.

  • @Vdeogamer well, I believe it can, and it costs only $45. And im looking for something that uses RCA. I think its one of the best that i found out there. Do you know of a better one that uses RCA? I personally dont own an HD TV, will that affect the output/input quality?

  • @ftwgunnerpwns Well, as far as I know you have only 3 choices for input. HDMI cable, Composite video (Yellow video cable; red, white audio) and Component video (green, red, blue video cables; red and white audio cables). Component video is a higher quality than composite, but it's not really HD. There is a bunch of stuff you have to take into consideration for this. I think it might be best for me to make a tutorial on capture cards so it's easier to understand. I'll make it this weekend!

  • thanks dude!!!!!now i may finally be able to commentate!!!!!

  • It's good but what happens if you want to record your voice with a mic.... -./

  • @swan5753 For audio recording I use the Zoom H2. It's a portable recorder with the most amazing audio quality I've ever heard! They've got a new one out called the H2n. It's an awesome recorder and can be used for any project!

  • where can a buy a DVD recorder like yours, and how much would it cost?

  • @RicksSpine565 I've seen some for as low as $100 and the price might be cheaper. There's a bunch of different ones to check out, but I don't know any of the current ones. Try google! :D

  • @Vdeogamer this has been the most helpfull tutorial, thanks buddy, im liking this and im subcrbing you

  • @RicksSpine565 Thanks for the support! I'm glad I could help! ^_^

  • dvd-rw

    Now i know! Thnx

  • Thanks for this great video....what I am trying to do is record from my WII that is playing Netflix movie? How would I go about this, or it is possible?

  • I did exactly what you did but if i have burn it to a DVD-Disc it will have only weird files like 'BAK'.

    Please help me...

  • How can you record your own audio and add it to the video?

  • @Iphoneisepic2 any gaming system except the ones with no av/ colour cords then you cant record footage from that system but the ones with the rca av/ colour cable cords you can.

  • wow smart one. we know how to put in cables/ we know how to set it up get a life

  • @TechTimeWithTyler You'd be surprised at how many people that DON'T know how to set it up. And your comment is invalid. If I didn't have a life, I wouldn't have been able to make this video.

  • @TechTimeWithTyler i didnt know how so shush up.

  • What was that CD you put in?

  • Will it work for a gamecube

  • Thanks

  • Loooooooool its sooooo detailed

  • ok i have a recorder a new tv and a wii i think im good

  • So I have an old tv, a wii, a recorder, dvd+rw disces, but not a cable yet. Is it just the cable from the wii to the tv, I need to change: from the wii to the recorder? Can you give me more info about cables? I would like to buy a HD but I have no idea what kind of cable. I don't have alot of knowledge about pc's and stuff. And I don't need a cable from the recorder > tv? if you can give me a link ore just lots of info about the cable (like what kind) that would be great.

    thnx, nice video btw

  • @2Ownage4U Well, truly the only thing that is different is that you plug in the wii into the dvd recorder. The cable that comes with the wii (red, white, yellow) should work just fine. It's not the best, but for uploads to youtube, you don't really need anything more. So it goes like this then: wii>recorder>tv. Let me know if you get it goin!

  • @Vdeogamer not exactly like you said, but when i plug my wii in my recorder, and my recorder in my tv, it still works. only: it's just like if you record on a tv. Only now on a special net (l1 or something, where I play on my wii). It just records on the hard disk, not on the disk I put it in. So I did record, only one thing left to do: copy it from dvd recorder itself to dvd+rw disk...

  • @Vdeogamer Is there any way that I can record my voice?

  • i did this but the quality while recording on my tv was ver very low (240p from the look of it) how do i fix this?

  • @MrTMgamer It could be because of your DVD recorder, but I'm not sure. See if there's any settings you can adjust in the dvd recorder menu. It's different for each one. Good luck!

  • @Vdeogamer thanks and another question i recorderd and then played it back and all it was, was a black screen any advice??

  • How much does one of these cost?

  • @TheDirector999 Depends. The price has probably gone down a lot with blu-ray getting cheaper and all.

  • @Vdeogamer you should stretch this out to 16:9, it helps the gameplay be compatible with youtube 720p gets rid of black bars, makes it look neat and I like it.

  • Does it record sound

  • @WiiPlaya100 It should if you plug in the audio cables as well.

  • how do u get the video from the dvd to the computer? :(

  • @SuperMarioHacker100 Well, once you have finalized the disc in your recorder (unless it's a rewritable, in which case you don't have to finalize), bring the disc to your computer and put it in. Next you use a program to rip the footage off as individual files. I've found a good free one, called: Free DVD Video Converter.

  • @Vdeogamer thank u :D

  • @ARTofAMVS Yep.

  • can i use a regular dvd player that records or do i have to use a "DVD Recorder"

  • Ok, i have a dvd r disk and everything setup, My remote even has a record button. When i put the disk in like you say, it says disk error, i know it works cause it's rewritable. My screen didn't go to the overwrite thing like yours please help me?

  • @CodeHackerProduction Try a different disk. Your Disc might actually be messed up, OR your DVD Recorder doesn't read that kind of disc. Either way, it's saying disc error for a reason. First try a different disc of the same type, then if you get the same results, switch to a different kind.

  • @Vdeogamer I have this phillips box its for blue ray it stil has the thing inside of it I think. but I have a small tv not a big. Says high definition for one.

  • Thank you

  • I am not sure if i have a dvd recorder or player it has a record button under dvd and it has audio/video in ports. Is it a recorder or player

  • @blazensniper It's probably a recorder, but it'd be best to check with the manual for the product.

  • when you record with the dvd recorder can you upload the video to youtube

ps:can you make a video if you can upload it to youtube

  • @xxkennycabreraxx Watch part 2 of this tutorial to learn how.

  • @Vdeogamer i did all of this, but once i put the dvd into my computer, NOTHING happend, i tryed clicking on the drive from the explorer, but it just continuisly loaded and never stopped. on a different computer, it shows that NOTHING is on the disc, no memory, no space, nothing.

    HELP

  • @Jbob98onroblox Did you finalize the disc with your DVD player after recording it?

  • @Vdeogamer yes,

and i ruled out that it's the disc (used multiple different ones)

  • omg thanx dude

  • I've gotten this to work, but I get a slight lag when I'm playing the game via the DVR. It's not horrible, but it's enough to mess up my performance quite a bit. Any solution to this problem?

  • @HamburgerDS It could be something to do with the settings on your DVD Recorder, or it could be the very quality of the cables themselves. If it's not a huge problem, I wouldn't mess with it.

  • @Vdeogamer i haave this one called kodak CD-R would it work?

  • i don;'t know if you know how to fix this but i recorded a level of mario and the followed everything but when i put it in the computer something poped up that said D:\ is not accessible incorrect function

  • @rebekkachanXD You probably need to finalize the disc in the DVD recorder, before placing it in the computer. Read your manual a bit to find out how.

  • @Vdeogamer thx it workes now ^^

  • @Vdeogamer thx but for the disc's would a DVD-RW work aswell

  • @rebekkachanXD Depends on if your DVD Recorder can accept it. It should also say that in your manual. :)

  • @Vdeogamer it did but i can't get it n any video editing softwere

  • I can´t find the channel where the wii screen shows up :S

  • Excuse Me I Use My DVD Recorder And Recorded the footage the video plays back on the TV But when i load the dvd on my laptop it wont show up :S

  • @pikapower500 You might need to finalize the disc on your DVD player before you put it onto the computer. The dvd player reads it just fine, but the computer won't be able to read it because the DVD is not in a format it understands. Read your manual a bit to figure out how to finalize a disc.

  • My dvd thing records and plays, it is also TV (TDT) does it work?

  • @MTAlexMKWii Probably. Try it out!

  • @Vdeogamer my dvd thing has 2 white holes a green a blue and a red. what do i do with my wii cables? in your vid it looks different

  • @MTAlexMKWii Well, the wii comes with a standard rca cable, which is red, white(audio) and yellow(video). The one your describing better quality, but works with red, blue green (video) and red and white (audio). You'll need to buy a separate cable to plug it in this way, specifically for Wii. Gamestop has some great cables.

  • @Vdeogamer ok so i'll put the red in the red. the Yellow in the blue or green and the white in the white?

  • @MTAlexMKWii No you can't do that. You need a different cable to go into that kind of input.

  • @Vdeogamer i have a grey thing were i put my yellow red and white cables. and at the back of my dvd recorder i can plug it in, but looking for channels i dont know wich channel it is. any idea?

  • @MTAlexMKWii ...I'm getting more and more confused. Does your dvd recorder have an input for red, white and yellow? If so plug it in there. Then for your channels thing, I'm assuming you mean selecting which input you want the recorder to record from. Just select whichever input you plugged your wii into.

  • @Vdeogamer No it doesnt, it has red and white, not yellow.

But at the back theres a thing where you can plug the grey thing that comes with the wii (to puy the red white yellow in there) asking if it is possible

  • @MTAlexMKWii Well, one way for you to figure out if it works is to plug it in, turn it on and see if it shows up on the screen when you set your dvd recorder to the right input. I'm just a little lost now, because I don't know what a grey thing is, and I can't understand your setup very clearly.

  • @Vdeogamer Wow! i just found out my dad was using a red white and yellow! i'll try recording and if i sucess i'll suscribe to you (:

  • @MTAlexMKWii Best of luck to you, bro!

  • @Vdeogamer I've done it but i dont know what channel to put on, i've tried everything i know, any ideas?

  • @Vdeogamer Wait, now it works and i see it, but the top of the wii is at the botom and its kinda flashi and wrong i've swiched off everything taken off the cables and it stil is like that why?

  • @Vdeogamer I'll pass you the photo via PM

  • @MTAlexMKWii yes it will

  • @MTAlexMKWii as long as it records the DVD+RW it should be fine

  • Dose this work with game cube too?

  • @RedHead2J Yeah, it'll work with any av input (yellow, red, white).

  • does it work on Lg i tried it didnt i tried a philips and my Tv just said no video signal?

  • @MrPieface009 Well you have to wire the wii into the dvd recorder through an input. If you did do that, then you have to change your dvd recorder's input view, which is what it will record to the wii input. This is also referred to as the source button on many remotes.

  • can i use my dvd player it has a record button

  • @BetaMechaify Probably. Just try it out and see for yourself.

  • Where can you get the DVD recorders?

  • An Asker Inc, (Fake)

Was This Helpful? Did You Success?

Question 1 Selection... Thumbs Up For Yes, Thumbs Down For No.

Question 2 Selection...Thumbs Up For Yes, Thumbs Down For No

  • Where Can You Get The Component Cables? Is It On Your Wii Already?

Or Do You Have To Get Them From Radio Shack Or Any Other Store?

I'm Talking About The AVI Cables, Or Is The AVI Cables Different From The

    Component Cables?

  • @zafvar1234 Well technically they're both called component cables. They just have different qualitys. I refer to AVI as red, white, yellow. The newer component cables are red, white, red, green, blue. The newer ones have a higher quality to them. You can buy a newer one component cable at gamestop.

  • @videogamer Would a like regular Sony DVD Player Work??

  • can it be with all the dvd recorders, can it be with the BD-C8200 too?

  • damn son, why didnt i think of that?! i already knew you coud do that, i was just to stupid to realize it worked with the wii. thank you, this helped lol

  • 6:53 Duckie!

  • @Vdeogamer is it possible to record via a USB port cus my DVD thing has a port on the back.

  • are you able to hear yourself talk in the recording?
