  • Masterpiece, truly divine. One of Bach's best piano pieces (originally for harpsichord since there wasn't a piano in his time).

  • i am playing this peace it is so hard

  • Il ne manque que la version vidéo et tout serait parfait !

  • da confrontare... JS Bach English Suite N 5 BWV 810 Gustav Leonhardt Harpsichord

    da TheGravicembalo2

  • How I hate dislike buttons.... ¬_¬

  • Whoah. I'm going to be learning this, and hopefully I'll get it done by Christmas. *As if. I will take a century, most probably. And that's more than a bit ambitious.*

  • @hfleung100 Good luck lol I can imagine a scenario where it takes another 300 years before someone plays this piece, as well, or even close to the way Glenn plays it here.

  • @heyaidkwhut Ha, yeah.. Glenn is amazing at Bach. ¬_¬

  • BACH DIDN´T DIE!!!

  • @MrRafaelamadeumilani i see what you did there

  • @bamboozel1234 DID THERE WHERE?

  • Magnifique !

  • Breathtaking.

  • One of the best of Bach & Gould.

  • Mesmerizing-what a fine pianist!Thank you for this upload :)

  • Get rid of the dislike button!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ( For this piece at least)

  • Maravilloso G.G.

  • Glenn Gould is my role model!

  • From God's voice... To Bach's mind... To Gould's fingers...

  • From God's voice... to Bach's mind... to Gould's fingers...

  • Exelente interpretacion, llena de inspiracion y tecnica.

    vivan los modos menores,

vivan Bach y Gould et nunc et semper

  • Bach forever. Gould forever. What genius!

  • Best Bach Prelude. Really Wanna Learn This One.

  • Gyönyörűen játszik.:)

  • It's so BRILLIANT; it makes me cry..............

  • Why do atheists have such an issue with almost every talented musician from the baroque>classical>romantic eras being deeply religious? Get over it, i don t believe in any sort of God myself however there s no doubt all these men were inspired by their faith and it shows in many instances of their work. If Bach were alive and you told him his music were proof of (his) God's existence he'd most likely take it as a compliment.

  • @devilxhlywood well said. thank you.

  • @devilxhlywood i don't. i'm an atheist, also a pianist, and i can't deny the fact bach was a genius. i love him. as you said, faith inspired him,it shows that religion has good sides when it comes this way.

  • @devilxhlywood To whom are you alluding to? I believe your definition of atheism is skewed.

  • @James9533 Don't be such an ungrateful jerk. sedna posted this for us to enjoy, not for you to make snide comments like that.

  • @James9533 ever consider it may have been a typo? UR DYSGUZTEENG

  • Gould def played Bach best; nobody can even come close to how prolific and deliberate his musicality with Bach was.

  • People...the music is good. Stop arguing about god and listen to this masterpiece :)

  • @Fuglebolle then perhaps you should ask a person that has made that claim.

again, avoid reading what I wrote.

  • @walterm85 I apologize if I've misinterpreted you, I thought that the last sentence of your comment (from "4 weeks ago") implies that this claim is valid. Is this incorrect?

  • @Fuglebolle It means don't insult people.

  • @walterm85

bach is in space. your argument is invalid.

  • @tsoder123 so, Prof. Armchair Philosophy, what's my brand of a god?

  • janjohandealgenman and EricTheRed03. I've wish to take nothing from Bach, and apologies if you think that I did; I believe that he was the finest musical talent ever to have walked the face of the planet. I also believe that Glenn Gould was the best interpreter of his keyboard works by an order of magnitude. Bach was a profoundly religious man, and in tandem with this I thought of Douglas Adams' Dirk Gently books and their Bach reference.

  • This music is so upliftingly beautiful

  • ну просто волшебник!!! Браво!!!

  • The music of Bach is how God reminds us that none of this is accidental and that he loves us.

  • @watchingtelly

Fuck you, don't take this away from Bach. It is HIS creation

  • @janjohandealgenman, Bach was able to get his hands on scores from all over Europe at Leipzig at least, and he also traveled to Denmark at one point to study with Buxtehude for many months. Bach did not compose in a cultural vacuum. I love his music too, but it is not *solely* his own.

And part of the wonder of his music is that it is at once intellectually rigorous and emotionally sublime. If you can't understand how that is a powerful argument for god, at least refrain from insulting others.

  • @walterm85 It's an equally strong argument for the Flying Spaghetti Monster.

  • @Fuglebolle no, it isn't.

  • @walterm85 The existance of intellectually vigorous and emotionlly sublime things isn't an arguement for your particular brand of a god. If you try to turn it into one then your making an argument from incredulity. If you want to pursue being an armchair philospher i suggest you brush up on your knowledge of logical fallacies.

  • @walterm85 Please explain.

  • @Fuglebolle no, you.

or you could just link to wikipedia article on 'flying spaghetti monster' and save yourself some time.

obviously, my first post's point was GOD EXISTS NO MATTER WHAT YOU SAY

I'd encourage you all to avoid going back and reading it, it was totally all about god

  • @walterm85 I'd still like to get an explaination of how the existence of Bach's music implies that god exists.

  • @watchingtelly : why would you make such a comment?

  • So ABFAB !!!

  • wow

  • bachBACHbachBACHbach more bach please. WOW like a glimpse of the architecture of the multiverse all at once.

  • Absolutely magnificent playing!

  • Ohhh I want that CD !!!

  • That's absolutely marvellous. Glenn is still present with his music in our lives... Incredible.

  • You should know that J.S. Bach (a very great genius) was inspired by God. So he was a great church-goer and his masterpieces had been dedicated to God, Saints, etc.....

  • i'm played that masterpiece 2 months and i must to sat that an extreimley difficult piece (prelude)

your hands need to be totally together.

    that my advice...

  • i think this one is maybe the best performance of Glenn Gould.

  • so fuckin' brilliant.. it chills me!

  • Bach's back. He is in Youtube at the moment!!!

  • Very celebral and incredibly experience. I think they are few that can match Gould's ability to bring out all the voices so dynamically and clearly

  • One of the best, not the best. But this song is played flawless, just as Bach would have played!

  • Gould at his best -

    pers.opinion...
