  • 4:14, You are so right!!

  • 5:37 best moment in this video, followed by 6:41 lol

  • In regards to pop culture events- add something to do with Madonna and the death of Farrah Fawcett (one of the biggest pop culture icons). Madonna has now sold more than The Beatles. Social Studies- gay marriage and the strides of equality. Maybe do a new video each year. Might be quite the undertaking to do so as each year we see history unfold before our very eyes. There is a lot to take in. Do you simply add footage or remove others and add new? Thank you for the taking the time to post this.

  • Well done!Happy New Year 2012 to all.Let us never forget yet always look forward. All the best!

  • How, about something happy, lik us all being together with out friends and families, or the troops coming home. Or the death of Osama Bin Laden u could also include the execution of Saddam Hussein

  • I'd like it better if it didn't lean to the left so much. Did we really need garbage like "the white man is the enemy of us all"?

  • @dukeallen2001 Yes we do. To learn from the past we must be reminded of the past.

  • @valleyguy72 So you'd get warm fuzzies if they put pics of Hitler in it?

  • @dukeallen2001 No but as a world we cannot forget our past. The past-good & bad-determines the future. Will we repeat the past or learn from it? And the vast majority-though not all- of the massacres this country has seen have been done by "the white man" because "the white man" STILL thinks himself superior to others. There is endless amounts of historical documents to back that up by the way. Should we just continue under that umbrella or act like it doesn't exist?

  • @valleyguy72 We shouldn't be simpering, whiny liberals who apologize for a past we weren't witness to, either.

  • @dukeallen2001 the video showed both extremes of the spectrum. did we not here the late mississippi gov. ross barnett proclaiming "segregation now, segregation tomorrow, segregation forever"?

  • the japan earthquake and tsunami.

  • Damn this is the type of video you watch to push you over the edge to kill youself.

  • great video...you should add virginia tech

  • Whenever I hear Reagan speaking about Challenger I can't help but tear up and I am not ashamed to admit it

  • loved the addition of recent major news stories...it occurred to me watching them that the last ten years has been full of such turmoil. I wish for a kinder future for our children.

  • hey guys go to 6:49. whaddya know clinton was IMPEACHED

    remember that

  • This song makes me cry every time they reach the shuttle explosion

  • You Should add Michael Jackson death (:

  • @gordik1 and steve irwins death

  • @gordik1 michael jackson was added lOL

  • I would also add:

    1980 - Miracle on Ice

    1995 - Oklahoma City Bombing

2000 - Bernard Shaw: "30 seconds before the Millenium of the East Coast of the U.S." - hhow the ball drop at Times Square

    2001 - Enron going bankrupt

2004 - Tsunami in SE Asia

2005 - Saddam Hussein is executed.

2011 - Osama Bin Laden dies

  • I just wish that the song didn't skip from 1877 to 1927 with Lindbergh. It's like, "wtf?"

  • @ecwinste same.

did they forget about that little skirmish called World War I or something?

  • I agree that, whatever anyone's political persuasion, the election of Obama was a giant landmark and should be better represented, with Grant Park or some such as an earlier commenter suggested. Perhaps a few other socially significant moments should be added as well, such as the infamous "wardrobe malfunction" or phelps winning the record breaking gold. But overall, fantastic job!

  • Wonderful to see this updated to include 2000-2010. Suggestions, perhaps cut in Obama winning the Presidency (Grant Park Election Night) or his swearing in cut in right after MLK. The tsunami of 2004 and the earthquake in Haiti 2001 were major. Entertainment perhaps a nod to American Idol and the stars it brought to our attention, Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, Daughtry, Jennifer Hudson. Just a couple of ideas.

  • @dintn2 Added to correct earthquake from 2001 to 2010.

  • Good job on the thing, but I would have let the C chord transition work since F and G are either a Perfect 4th or 5th up or down from C

  • decent job despite the AOL notification @ 6:41

  • very touching...thank you for putting this video together job well done.

  • Young and Old...should never forget what they remember. Never forget lessons learned. Never forget failures or victories. Always remember that which is important and those who are important. Hold tight to your dreams and your memories...lest they will slip away! God Bless America!

  • @Shellyz2u

Hello Shelly....I JUST read your response from 11 months ago, and I've got to tell you, that I was moved by it....call me crazy....but, as one of many US History teachers, we try to communicate the importance of this same focus & vision to our students, as they represent our future....thanx for your note, and I ditto your sentiment: God Bless America!

  • I would add the Simpsons, Facebook and the advent of social media, and Matthew Shepard, whose death, in hindsight, sparked a turning point in the gay rights movement (like it or not). Also, I would add the Miami Dolphins perfect season in 1972. (again, like it or not). And perhaps Captain Sully.

  • This video, was very well done .I'm surprised ,so few have viewed this .This, is history

  • beautifully done. i might suggest for the 2000's: the tsunami, steroids in baseball, swine flu, red sox finally win the series, lance armstrong, kanye west (george bush hates black people), space shuttle columbia, etc... just some ideas.

  • @tac3068 Kanye west is a pain in the ass cry baby..leave him out of it.

  • Pretty decent job. I like it.
