As a Red Sox Fan, I would have to say losing this World Series, was an Omen! Someone was telling us that we were only going to wait 86 years before our next World Series win. I should have seen this beforehand.

Think about it, 1918 was our last World Series win, until 2004. Let's do the math. Shall we? We won the World Series in 2004, minus 1918 = 86 years.

The Mets had every reason to celebrate given their talent. Their team excelled despite possibly the greatest pitching staffs ever assembled. (Mike Scott and Nolan Ryan w/ Houston and then Roger Clemens and Bruce Hurst w/ Boston).

during game six my father and my brother went to bed thinking that boston had won the series after dave hendersons homerun i stayed up to watch the mets rally with two outs. the 1986 postseason the best mlb postseason tha i have ever seen i'll never forget it
