The boat was a total lose in the end, my grandad was the captain on the boat with the hose.

I really don't know how much damage was done. No, the water used by the other boats alongside of the Miss Niz wasn't very effective on the fire itself, but it did cool the metal and kept it from spreading to rest of the boat via heat conduction.
