  • uhh i think thats called a quarter panel exension, i might be wrong, but you got everything else right, i think, awesome job dude!

  • hey pete i have a 67 impala that needs a trunk lip that holds the seal is this hard to do or better to find second hand piece, love the videos, all the best from new zealand

  • @southern1muzz If you are wanting to make it from scratch? yes it would bettter to find a section of the orginal peice and go from there. Living in New Zealand might be a bit hard to find what you need, if so, just say I CAN DO IT---and do what ever it takes to get er done!!!!

  • Great videos got a 67 impala cant wait to start my project, thanks pete lookin foward to seeing more

  • The first minute reminded me of a judge I had the misfortune to meet in traffic court. The only difference is you were more civilized and well mannered.

  • Every video i see of swrnc is more badd ass :D

  • Two MORONS don't like this video...

  • I have a 1978 Pontiac Phoenix LJ that has rust on the panels. Are there any ways to take the panels off and if there is do you have any recommendations for what to do?

  • @havoc1482 On that particular vehicle, I don't think they make new panels for it, Your best bet is patch panel. Look up 1962 Ford galaxie rust repair swrnc in the youtube search box and you will see how to fix your rust. Pete

  • if i was in texas i'd pay you to teach me all you know. you should think about having a 2 man class in your shop. free work or get paid for teaching in your shop.

  • @showmethedammovie I actually tried that once. It lasted 3 days, and I ended up doing all the work, while the guy just standed there and kept me company. He was supposed to be renting out a section of my shop to work on his car, and I was supposed to guid him --how to--instead I built his car for pennys on the dollar. It was a real nightmare.

  • @diyautoschool

i always end up workin on everybody elses cars but my own lol.

  • Ok I hear Pete saying "SITUATION" in my head all the time now. It also works great on my kids when they need a little guidance and need to pay attention to the SITUATION and what's going on.

  • @MadSmokerBBQ Don't forget the word---SOLUTION---Thats the key word to SITUATION....

  • Pete, you get down dude!!! Watched your video's and I swear that those dudes on the major TV show don't show you shit!!! Plus Those shits don't speak in my language. I don't understand those fucks and the tech shit they say. I like plain english and foul language.

Well, let me get to the point!!! Your video's kick ass and you do some great fucking work!!! keep on doing the damn thing, sorry about Bruno good luck with the diyautoschool .

That's it for now best wishes from California later bro

  • @ishlet78 Thanks for all the support and GREAT comments. Pete

  • ioioioi

  • LOL Hey Sammy, how many takes to get that few cuss words in that intro?

Seriously Pete, I have this exact situation on my '70 Mach 1 but WORSE! I don't know if it's because of a non-oem aftermarket part or if the quarter was that badly scrunched. Anyway, you are doing a good job on these videos. There is NO SUBSTITUTE for learning from someone that has already made all of the mistakes (school of hard knocks) and can tell you what to watch out for. That's what other DIY videos lack. Thanks

  • For all you viewers who are not familiar with My Friend Pete, not only does he teach you how to do body work and paint in a no bullshit common sense way, if you email him Pete does take the time out of his busy schedule of trying to make a living to answer you!! Plus these vids are fun!! Please sign up as a SUBSCRIBER if you haven't already. Mike in NH.

  • Great channel bro..I'm in

  • I kinda like not having the music on these pete...it makes it easier for me to pay attention and actually learn...lolI found myself just rocking out to the music on the others...lol ;)

  • Alright Pete, I hope you can afford to change your fume cartridges more often..; P

  • Believe in the hand

  • nice work ... keep it up ..... all good

  • Thanks for the videos!! I been following swrnc for a couple of years. Thanks again all the way fron NH

  • couldn't be better...true American,hard workin sum bitch

    thanks pete

  • Long live the hand.!!!!

  • Definatly going to tell everyone I know about the new channel good luck Pete!!

  • Pete, I'm diggin' where your going with this new channel. Since I'm now a student of your school, can I call you Professor Pete? I'm not sure how this will work, do I actually have to click ads for you to make money, or what? Because I employ ad blocking technology that prevents me from seeing any ads on youtube, but if I must click ads for you to get credit then I will turn it off when I visit here so I can give back. I've been a recipient of your generosity so you know I will want to repay you

  • The HAND knows all....give the HAND a hand

  • cadillac had rubber ones that were no good at all there for a while. how many caddys you used to see with those missing. good information here.

  • great vid pete, but you need to loose the characters for this "teach and tell" channel, for the regulars to swrnc we know whats what but newbies might have switched off by the time the main show starts

i usually prefer to slice the panel about 5 mm away from the mis-matched edge and raise it then weld up the gap, that way you have solid origonal edges

  • to funny....

    great work

    get er done........

  • thanks pete great work!!

  • pete the runner is a 69 not 68..un less its got 69 rquarter. fkn HATE the 70s chevelle frnt xtensions!

  • thanks for the vids, my friend Pete...

  • WOW!!!!!!!!

  • these are a pain to take off on cadillacs made from 1980-1992

  • @soloM81 Yeah they are, bunchs and bunchs of nuts and brackets and just a real pain in the ass. The caddy extensions are made of plastic/rubber Whats a bitch about it, is you have to remove the chrome bumper extentions first then the quarter panel extension...

  • Nice video Pete! Keep it up!

  • I ment *Awesome, sorry havent had my caffeine yet =/

  • Awqesome new channel Pete =D

  • @StrikerTripleThree Thanks for the comments and support. Pete

  • thanx for the video Pete me and my dad are restoring a 65' mustang so this will help up a lot

  • @jrdrag1258 Thats the plan... Don't miss the whole series on this subject. Most people tend to pass this idea off and leave it as it... Easy Fix for a GREAT JOB! Pete
