Hi. Thanks for your comments. It's difficult to say how long it has taken me. The board and track went down about 12yrs ago. I didn't do much to it for about 3yrs. Then with the introduction of digital, I became inspired again. At the moment I am fitting point motors to all the points. The problem is that it can be cold and windy in winter..... LOL
Thanks for your comments hovermotion. Funny but my Flying Scotsman from my teenage years also doesn't work. Work has been slow recently but I hope to get an update done.
Like the container depo, viaduct, scenary you have done, at least you kept some of the locos you had from your younger days, all i had left is a hornby flying scotsmann which is a mess & will not work.
Hi. Mountains were built up using screwed up newspaper and masking tape to keep the newspaper in place. Then Mod rock over the top,. Then using poster paints mixed the colours to finish it off. I found to keep mixing to get green so that it was not the same shade all over.
@jmsschooner The board runs around the peremeter of my loft. The area of the loft is about 5m x 3m so that's 16m all the way roound. The width is probably half a meter on the 5m lenghs and nearly a meter wide at the ends. I have had to widen some parts to take the freightliner terminal and extra sidings. It is DCC and I use the Bachmann Dynamis controller.
@howarth004 You're right, it is a hobby for life and I love it. But the thing I like most is that I can leave it for a week or two and just get on with parts of the layout I fancy tackling. Last night I installed lights in the Diesel depot and I can now see what's inside.. LOL
HI mate great layout. What is the size of the layout in feet?

@jmsschooner Actually (thinking about it), it's probably more like 5x4 or slightly bigger.
