  • Omg, Bernstein saying it was "Yummy" is the best thing ever!!!!

  • Bernstein was a genius composer and a great man- and Kiri here is just wonderful.

I admire her and I love this song Somewhere and this is a radiant performance.

    Yummy indeed.

  • is possible to get a DVD of this session?

  • @aftalion Yes! I don't know how or where, but my music theory teacher had a copy of it. So it is out there! =)

  • @aftalion Yes you can get a DVD. Try Amazon!

  • Generally I am not a great fan of Kiri's musical theater efforts, including this WSS recording, but she always did well with ballads like this.

  • Sorry, that was a little unclear. I really liked her performance of this song.

  • lol "Yummy" seems like a good word for it.

  • lol 2:52 :)

  • Yummy is the perfect description, as Bernstein is always right. He was perfection.

  • well...not always, but often! :-)

  • It's intentionally written low. It's not supposed to be pretty, but struggling. Notice what the words are: "there's a place for us..." You're supposed to sound stretched.

  • somewhere makes me cry..:'-)

  • i know what u mean, literally ... such gifts to this world, Te Kanawa ... Carreras .. not to mention the Maestro himself .. and everyone else

  • song is much too low for her...and she just pushed it, grabbed it in her throat. i am big kiri fan but im glad they got marilyn horne

  • whats?? mucking up???

  • screwing up, wrecking

  • You can replace the m with an f and the meaning is the same. It's just a little politer. :)

  • Lol!

  • "I congratualted them for mucking up my voice in twelve hours" Kiri. Classic!
