I seem to remember a Gator Gum commercial where, instead of saying "dry mouth", the slow deep-voiced part said "bites my mouth". Like a gator would, perhaps. Anyone else remember that? I think it had been around for a year or two before this 1981 ad. What Genius 7277 is right - it was almost eye-wateringly tart but faded pretty fast, and the outer package was made out of foil. Inside, the individual pieces weren't wrapped in anything, I think.
I remember Gator gum. It was like packaged in the same type of wrapper that Bazooka came in right? I dont remember it being all that great or mouth watering though, lol. But, I'm surprised they havent brought it back, what with all the sour patch, salty/sweet/tart candy that is popular with kids these days. Might be a hit again.
They have a gum now that tastes just like the ole gatorgum. They sell it at sport gear stores here in anchorage ak. Suppose to be a quincher. Flavors include orange, lime, and fruitpunch
I miss Gator Gum too. I was very young but I'd always ask my mom for it. lol Probably the best gum I ever had. Thanks for the upload and the trip down memory lane.
Oh man we used to love Gatorgum... I think it came in orange and lemon lime? It was so tart and a little salty. I can still imagine the taste and texture. Wish it was still around. Thanks for posting!
Pls bring back the Gatorgum!!!!

@SouthOCmixdown This was a very tart, strong gum, but the flavor didn't last long. And the package was actually shiny tin foil..
