I saw the finest quality of all GMs (even my mom's '01 Impala): the ability to take the key out while it's running (one setback with the '01 Impala though-ya gotta have the key if you want the car to start).
@mjfpercussion All three of my GMs I could pull the key out of the ignition. I forgot my keys at home once and i asked my neighbour to grab his uncle's GM keys hanging on the keyrack. 2 seconds later we were off and running. his uncle's keys unlocked my ignition. my current 87 caprice i can pull the key out. great option. fucking car gets better as it gets older.
I'm thinking about buying a 77' looks just like this one, just more front lights (double) and it gots lots of spare parts in the back like this one, only $500
I got an 81 Oldsmobile Custom Cruiser with 90k on it with a 5.7 V8 diesel. Runs great, I'm fixing the paint on it and replacing some Vbelts then its 100% good to go! Anyone interested?!
My friend used to grow it until he got an unwelcome visit from the "men in black"!!
A swift bonfire was then required, they found nothing due to lack of smell/ didnt look fully, made him panick though, early harvest and big hole in a field for storage;
i know lol . i like his other video but this one i just stumbled upon and it irritated me when i found out it was a 80s station wagon and not rly..a barn find.
Ha, my caprice had a key issue just like that. Used to be pretty cool as you could leave it runnin and lock the door, so good on cold mornings! Love the cruiser, i'm trying to locate a 88 or 98 sedan currently, need a new winter car!
the new cheby...u should take the pioneer radio outta that cub and put it in the teeruk so u have ur dnr..and tunes..hahaha...well thats if u have that sub still.
not the best for diesels as they let in more and and more dirt with that air. once the filter get s a bit dirty it'll let in less dirt. the oiled filter are not a good idea either as the can run off the oil vapors as theres no throttle valve in the intake and you'll can have a case of runaway engine on your hands.
the filters are junk per se but the let in more dirt than some diesel owners like. it depends on where you drive as well. if you drive through the desert in the middle of a sandstorm you won't want one of these filters. the best way to tell if its letting a lot of dirt in and check the air intake elbow where the CDR tube goes in. the oil residue from the vapors will catch some of the dirt. is there a lot of dirt there? my K&N let in more dirt than a stock paper filter.
lots of diesel owners choose to stay with the paper filters so they don't loose filtration but other diesel owners swear by K&N and other K&N knockoff brands. i guess its who you talk to.
just wondering if your parking brake on your chevy truck from oregon needs adjusting or is the cable stretched out,also is it half-ton or three quarter-ton? , i am assuming 6.5 turbo diesel from what i saw of the engine bay, hard to tell though,could be a early 6.2 turbo diesel with mechanical injection too. $5.00 a gallon diesel is killing our school bus fuel budget, i'm the one that gets to fill them up from time to time as i'm the bus technician, 900 gallons a week we go through,ze ug!
his trucks a 93 3/4 ton 6.5 with mech injection. one of the best years for these trucks. i had a parking brake issue but the adjustment rods were were seized to the adjustment nuts so i had to weld the two rods together(new cables and old cable) but now its stretched out so i've gotta get the grinder and fix it. seemed like a good idea at the time.
now that i did some research CDR stands for crankcase depression regulator. almost sounds like some kind of medicine if your depressed(depression regulator). lol.
no idea but it is a tuna can. haha. just replace the CDR valve. the turbo wastegate actuator is just a spring on the 92-93, but hte problem is the spring is too weak so you onyl get 3-5 psi of boost. i'd say get a boost gauge(i've got one thats 0-30 psi if you need one) then make your own with a stronger spring as set it to around 12-13 psi max since theres no intercooler.
