It appears that your education at that Westside Arlington Heights school is very lacking. You must be sleeping in all of your classes. Learn the meaning of the word "respect".
I was there fall 65-spring 68. Especially sophomore year the band played Dixie. Older friends have told me that the band played it when JFK was on his Fort Worth parade route in 1963. In 1965, we scored a TD to lead Paschal early in the fourth quarter, 12-7, went for 2 and failed. For most of the fourth quarter the band played the "new" fight song, almost non-stop. Of course, Paschal scored with a few minutes to go and beat us 14-12.
Do you all remember that this was the "new fight song" introduced in about 1965 to try to get away from the band playing "Dixie" at eery pep rally and after eery (although few) touchdown? The historical, original fight song was the same used by So. California: "Fight on for (U-S-C) Poly High."
I went to Poly High from 1964 until 1968 and this fight song was always the fight song I remember,If the USC fight song happened to be the Poly High fight song before this one, then I am very glad they changed the song--because the USC fight song is terrible. I do not ever remember the Poly High Band playing "Dixie".
