@blakeblake321 that is the sound of the igniters, they are very high voltage type of spark plugs that come on constantly whilst the starter is energised. Once the turbine starts it is self sustaining and does not need these igniters. The reason you can hear them is because they are so high voltage they break through the radio system.

Is the pilot a Navy pilot in the Roulettes? He has Navy rank slides and a Navy flag on his shoulder. Since all Navy pilots start out flying PC-9s and some of them become instructors I guess Navy pilots could become Roulettes. Please correct me if I'm wrong anyone
I have been a fan of these guys since I was a kid so how did you manage to go up with David you very lucky guy& you didn.t even pass out during the loops?
It came about through the Radio station I was working for... It's been funny reading the comments from people.. Believe me I wish I didn't get sick... But being stuck in there... It's like a little microwave box and I was pouring with sweat... With no energy... If I had the chance to do it again I'd jump at it... I'd just make sure that physically I'm up for it... And Shazza the loops were awesome... Hardcore with my stomach... But awesome fun.. And if you know David please pass on my hellos :)
Thanks for the quick reply.Only know David through a pilot I know in the air ambulance...Would have given Anything to have been where you were!Don't let that one experience put you off flying.
Yeah Deltasharpshooter, I would have flown with him, but you cannot just jump in the back seat of a military aircraft, especially a Roulette PC-9 no less. The RAAF are pretty strict about who gets to fly with them. Basically the deal is you have to be a media representative or some type of politician etc...Nothing worse than military red tape!! But believe me, I would have given my right nut to have gone up with the team! Cool stuff right?!
Mate, I can only say, you've got to be shitting me! No amount of sweating could stop me from taking over the controls for a once in a lifetime fly of a Roulette PC-9. You should have sucked it up and gone for it.
BTW, the pilot's name is David Walker. And since he is my cousin, I can say you where in very capable hands. Thanks for posting though. It's my first close up look at his office and view from his window. Very cool.
