  • wow......unexpecting

  • yeah i live near the rugby fields going out to blaxland road and wow that was the biggest storm i had ever seen in dalby..very exciting =D

  • that like blew the roof off my old school

  • Having not been in that area of the town I can only go on the witness accounts and what was seen of the damage.. I only saw facing damage.. not "path" .. But.. what is a storm anyway... when wind gusts can exceed 160kph and the air flows in vortices.. so all storms are just mini tornado's/cyclones.. I just hate the media's over stating the facts for their ratings.. their vision only showed wind front damage

In Dec '86 saw many more homes damaged over the whole town.. again worst on edges..

  • I will allow you to differ.. just it seems the Media wanted to believe it was a Tornado.. But a normal storm can have incredibly strong winds.. gusting.. and along the edges of an urban area and the winds approaching those edge buildings will be very destructive.. YEs areas in the town suffered some damage.. but the worst was along the edges..

Having lived and worked in areas further west, I have seen the destruction after "storms".. narrow (100 to 300m) of denuded and twisted/destroyed trees..
