  • I saw the last concert of the US tour os this band at Radio City Music hall in New York. This was Stings best band with Omar Hakin on Drums, kenny Kirland on keyboards, and Brandford Marsallis. On thne encore of Demolition Man Herbie Came out with Mark Knopfer on guitar.

Branfors Marsalis plays very well here.

  • meraviglioso sting....

  • Its from 85 Newcastle City Hall Hometown gig for Gordon this one......shown on The Tube.

  • too fast!!

  • @stevenheroproduction Colaiuta-Sancious-Miller-Sting quartet was on par

  • more cowbell!!!!

never the less a great performance

  • My favourite song of this album. "The dream of the blue turtles" was my first "CD" purchase. How old am I?

  • @bidibi83 you're probably 39

  • Who's that on the cowbell? Sounds really good!

  • I got a fever, and the only cure is more Omar......

I do see Ferrell with this version though.

  • All you guy posting the cowbell comments are crackin' me up!! hahaha

Still a beautiful song, but this cowbell version was asking for it.

  • vigo894,

Thank you for your apology - "udder-ly" unnecessary, yet quite "moo-ving" (ouch - even I'M groaning at that one).

    As to my opinion:

"Dream of the Blue Turtles" - one of Sting's absolute best (Omar Hakim, Brandford Marsalis, to name but two - superb).

"Russians" and "Black Seam" - musically, very subtle and nuanced.

But what the hell do I know - I'm just a simple cow.

Peace to you and all your fellow humans.

    Mister Cow

  • Sting and his old band The Police always sound better live.

  • Hey all you humans, I'M THE DAMN COW. Don't you think I oughtta have a say about all this cowbell controversy??

    DAMN HUMANS.

  • Re: the cowbell - let's all remain calm, get our priorities straight, and think for just a minute how the cow must feel - you insensitive humans

  • @gunneralquist= We are very sorry Mister Cow. What is your opinion?

  • who plays the cowbell?

  • sounds great, but i agree with everyone else, the cowbell ruins the song

  • dawn cowbell, mess all the song.

  • i got a fever and the only cure is more cowbell

  • Sting stole some underpants off my washing line, the cad! Forget trying to save indigenous tribesmen, Sting, give me my chuffing Y fronts back. I've gone commando since 1986 and the rash is killing me!

  • @MikeStevens101 Christ...you too? And I thought it was only me. How many others have had their bloody Y fronts nicked by Sting?

  • @quirpco Too right. Hes just a chuffing pant thief.

  • @MikeStevens101 Man, this is funny!

  • Nothis is Newcastle 1986

  • looks a lot like the place where they made the DVD . GO OMAR

  • He sounds great but I could have lived without the cowbell.

  • lol You can never have too much cowbell.

  • I used to know someone who said that all the time! That you Dean?

  • this had to be at least 85

  • Correct. "Dream of the Blue Turtles" wasn't produced until 1985

  • a great joy lovely!!

  • Studio Sounds Better!

  • Nothing like "Dream of the Blue Turtles."

Fortress is an awesome song as is the musicianship of Stewart Copeland with percussian.

  • - out of this world! -

  • I agree, this is Sting at his best. I saw him in Costa Mesa Ca. at the Pacific amphitheater outdoor arena in 1985 or 86That band with Brandford, kenny kirkland daryl jones, Dolette and Janice was freakin iut of this world!

  • his best song No doubt

  • AMAZING song! and band...

  • 1985.

  • I recognize the walls that I once made. Had to stop in my tracks for fear of walking on the mines I'd layed.

    ...wow...

  • their best song.

  • A fever, and the only cure- is more cowbell, baby...

  • I gotta fever...

  • that cowbell is so out of place here ... my opinion

  • very good video cosycorp!!!

  • I used too sing this, lotta fun, but a BITCH to do....

  • Sting is very mysterious.

    encrypted messenges all around always...

  • Killer song, great lyrics, try singing along...tough...

  • I like this song but i really enjoy this version of it better. The background music has a techno feel. :)

  • Hey I like the Police and all, but Copeland is no match for Omar Hakem. Add Daryl Jones on bass (now with the stones) and Marcellis. No match - this band is much better. Saw this tour in '85 in Oklahoma. Great time!

  • Dude, Stewart Copeland is one of the most acomplished drummers on the face of the planet! The only guy better then him is Neil Pert! This Hakem guy is really good, but he's not even on the same planet as Copeland! Copeland is much more powerful on drums!

  • .........Neil Pert???

I saw him live... he was ok.

I saw Stewart live, and I can't stop talking about how amazing it was. they might have been equal at one point but now? HELL no!

  • Im not gonna argue with you pal. I like both drummers, and that's that.

  • Sting is soooooo hot!!

  • NEWCASTLE 1986

  • It was during the dream of the blue turtles tour ( summer 1985 to summer 1986)

  • asshole all the way, even back in 1980....when he played The Edge ,here in T.O.

  • is this an outtake from the bring on the night film?

  • Needs more cow bell...

  • Yeah...more cowbell.

  • yeah... more cowbell. thats the whole problem with sting, he needs more cowbell!
