@YhwhKhai awwwwwwwww): every time i hear this song, it brings tears to my eyes, i love this one, god bless the u.s.a between a rock, and a heartacke, and this one one song that he sang at the piano but, i can't rembember
This was the song I had the DJ play at our wedding and as we danced there was only her and I in the world. She was then as now a gift to treasure forever. Honey I really do owe you.
Jackkemp1 HEY I like horses. That Bett Midler comment was a insult to my equine companions. LOL I didn't know Lee did Wind Beneath My Wings. I Love that song.
Lee did wind beneath your wings before that HORSE Bette Midler did it...but her fatface got all the credit. Lees was much better. Also I dont mind the thorns since youre the rose is beautiful song...Look it up and enjoy
LOVE IT !!!!! I remember this song being sung by the Bride to her Husband. Everyone had tears in there eyes. If I ever get married... then I know it will be true love and I shall sing it to my Husband !! Thank you Mr Greenwood.. Wish more songs were as deep as this..
i like lee greenwood and you know when i hear this song I think of my mom because she loved the guy. I know this sounds wimpy but I can admit this song makes me wanna cry because i do miss my mom alot. My mother died of a heartattack when she was asleep at teh age of 43. I wish I could take back all the bad things i have done to her. I rang up her phone bill over and over but she told me she still loved me. I paid her back by giving back during tax season. I sure do wish she were still alive.
@Commentsallowed no. maybe you're no sure about the concept of pitch, because he sounds on pitch to me. And certainly not meandering off "badly". And Im not trying to defend Lee Greenwood, because Im not a fan of his music either.
@VASINGER Well, I hear it. And seeing as how a singer's job is to stay on pitch and to (most of time, except for reasons of style) make the words intelligible, he's failing. Also, if u can, watch at about 1:52 on this video, and tell me if u hear it there /watch?v=Q65KZIqay4E
@Commentsallowed im a singer myself , and I am very sensitive to pitch. Its funny but I have a friend who is totally tone deaf and he will say a singer is off pitch when they are not. And then when a singer is way off pitch, to him it sounds on pitch. Im not a great singer, but I know what is on pitch . If you want to hear pitchy- go listen to "if I could fly" by Joe Satirni. That guy is all over the place.
@Commentsallowed the link was not complete. Il have to check later. Listening again, I can hear a few places where Lee is ever so slightly off, but nowhere near what you're saying. Every human singer has variations within the pitch but its still a relative pitch. Hes not off key.
@VASINGER I never post a complete link. It's just easier that way; less trouble. Listen to that link, he's REALLY off pitch there. And this video's too bad for my ears.
@VASINGER Um . . . . @ 1:53 (or thereabouts) in "God Bless the U.S.A.", the video posted by littlebrat672, he is almost completely flat. You REALLY don't hear it?
@Commentsallowed is it just lee greenwood you think goes flat, or other singers a well? Im not trying to brag, but I was told I have perfect pitch. I can sense very well when something is even the slightest bit off. It usually doesnt bother me because there is relative pitch- where a singer can fall within the pitch- usually vibrato can alter the pitch a bit. But nothing in Lee Greenwoods recordings have I ever heard him being completely flat. You do know what flat is , right?
@Commentsallowed i think what you're hearing is a styleized thing that Lee Greenwood does which is a breathy type of vibrato- he extends the note where it sounds like its somewhat a strained note but its more of an affectation with a wavy vibrato. Its not off key singing. I dont care for what he implements in this either- it can be misleading too the untrained ear. But its not flat, its just a vocal affectation.
This is one of my four favorite Lee Greenwood songs, the other three being "Going, Going, Gone," "Dixie Road," and, of course, "God Bless The U.S.A." I wish radio was more friendly to Lee and artists like him, because he has a great way of saying how he loves someone. "I.O.U. the sunlight in the morning...." Classic line from a classic song. Thanks for posting this. I also like a song he wrote, & Kenny Rogers recorded called, "A Love Song." I wish there were more artists like Lee still around.
A friend of mine worked at the Tropicana Hotel (Vegas) as a floorman, and he and a couple of buddies were working on some arrangements for their band in the lounge, after their shift one night. He said a dealer kept coming over on his breaks and listening. Finally, the guy got up the nerve and asked if he could sit in. It was a closed rehearsal, but the guy looked so disappointed, Tommy relented and handed over the mic. He said the guy's voice brought him to tears. It was Lee!!
i wanna dedicate this video to all of you who are having problems with relationships, family members, kin, and wanna let you know that it gets better with understanding.patience and a little magic from god
Such a beautiful love song...brings back so many good, good, good memories! I could listen to this on and on and on. Thanks for the post and the super neat video. For the good times, play on..............
This was one of his best songs ever! I remember hearing this song on the radio many times when it first came out. It had to run up the country charts above Kenny Rogers back then.
This is our song: Richard & Kimberly married September 24, 1983. We inscribed IOU in our wedding bands; I've never taken mine off. After 27 years he still makes me feel like a bride! IOU, honey! You are the best man I've ever met. "Thank You" doesn't begin to cover how much I appreciate you and our love & life together. IOU
A very touching song for those who have found their forever love. But painful to those whose heart has already been broken by others who promised forever but gave them pain. I feel your pain. :-(

@Commentsallowed lol . there's no style i know of where a singer is allowed to stray off pitch. Except maybe Metal where they just scream.
