@Buzzedd777 Thanks for the compliments. The amp is an Ampeg VL1002 that was designed by Lee Jackson as sort of a hotrodded JCM800 if I remember correctly. Its from the early 90s. He has modded and designed amps for Zakk Wylde, Paul Gilbert and a bunch of others as well. He makes some cool sounding stuff.
It's got that unusual headstock shape & body cut! I think it's smaller and its horns are more severe than the standard Explorer right? And the early Gibson trem; that's just awesome! How does the trem hold up? Right now I'm rockin an 88 white Fender HM I picked up a few years back! That guitar's my wife ya know haha! =)
Thats cool! Wow If I had the $ I would totally get it! =) For real, that's a cool guitar! I love the old wild 80's hair band shredders! They dont make'em like that anymore! Total shame ya know! I'm a Fender person but your specific model is the only Gibson that I love! =)
The XPL is interesting for sure. Smaller body than a regular explorer, pointier horns in true hair metal fashion, very high output pickups. The Kahler is very stable but one thing I read from EVH is really helpful. He mentions to always control the bar. Don't dump it and let it go. Guide it back to pitch. I think this is helpful on many other trems as well. I can even go drop D using the fine tuners without touching the lock nut.

Wow, an XPL. I thought these were extinked. Nice playing. That amp sounds really good. Is that a modified Marshall? It doesn't sound stock.
