  • Incredible!!!

  • The last 2 seconds of the video where he justs stops there claps is hilarious.

  • Damn that's good.

  • goddamn what a voice ! best white singer ever !

  • The first album I bought in 1972!

  • gotta let the people know i'm gonna be late !

can't stop listening to this song again and again, just perfect songwriting !

  • Maybe Billy Joel was also influenced by Harry? Sure sounds like it when I hear this fabulous song.

  • @spirtw72 Excellent observation. I was thinking about the same thing.

  • @spirtw72 More likely is that they had the same influences.

  • Gotta Get Up has always been my favorite Nilsson song, and it does sound Beatle-like, so yeah the influence is there - strongly so!

  • All the Beatles loved him there is a great quote about George Harrison at Harry's funeral when asked what his favourite Nilsson song was...

    :)

  • @Bunyonz I'm familiar with that quote. ;)

  • @Bunyonz What was George's answer?

  • @RayNDeere

Ah well Mark Hudson and George and all the others were standing at the graveside and Mark asked George what his Favourite song of Harry's was, to which George replied "Fuck You" Hudson was a little put aback until George started singing You're breaking my heart, you're tearing me apart, so Fuck You, and everyone else then joined in and sang the whole song...

  • tearing IT apart even...

    hahaha

  • @Bunyonz what's the quote??? i cant find it

  • @Bunyonz fuck you

  • I used to think he was British!

Homegrown American... and half of the Beatles loved him. And, Ringo made a movie with him. I used this song as an alarm clock (rigging my stereo that would turn on with a built-in timer.) John Lennon and he had many drunken adventures... and I'm sure that Tommy Smothers remembers. Anyway... nobody did it like Nilsson. If John and Paul are your fans... check out "Who Is Harry Nilsson (And Why Is Everybody Talkin' About Him?)". It's good fer ya!

  • @wdchefdave56 "I used this song as an alarm clock (rigging my stereo that would turn on with a built-in timer.)"

I used to do the same thing!!!

  • the Beatles were greatly influenced by Harry Nilsson and huge fans.

  • why do folks always have to bring up these laaaaaame comparisons. enjoy the musick folks.

  • I love 'used to do the rock and roll.' Nobody like Harry Nilsson.

  • Can not compare them

  • Jonah Hill's Twitter? :)

  • Is he a clone of Paul Mccartney?

  • @pickles2480 I see what your saying... lol and thats a little disturbing...

  • @pickles2480 McCartney borrowed from Nilsson just as much as Nilsson borrowed from McCartney

  • @pickles2480 it's JUST NORMAL they used to influence eachother. Look at so many cases alike. They said the same about Joel & McCartney, Dylan and Donovan, Elton John and somebody else.

  • Are the Harry Nilsson BBC sessions available on cd or dvd. Thanks : )

  • @dar0381 Unfortunately, no, not legitimately, anyway.

  • Next thing to the Beatles I have ever heard!

  • if you ever have watched the point, it has Harry's music in it

  • WATCH.."Who is Harry Nilsson?" 2006. Ridiculously good, paradigm shifta

  • "pound her for a few days" . Awesome like "do goody good bullshit"

  • @vurnt22 I know, right? Epic... in a sneaky, not underhanded, sort of way.

  • I would like to see some of our so called "Musicians" of today perform the way Harry did back then.

  • Thanks for posting this great clips! Classic!
