  • I was bit by a brown recluse while cleaning my house. It only left a small scar. I feel kinda bad that I got off better than most, but I'm also relieved after watching this video. :\

  • what kind of fucked up world is this

  • Don't forget, this is a hopping spider.

  • i live in champaign, il and now i'm fucking freaked

  • ಠ▃ಠ

  • That reminds me, it's pizza night!

  • one of the teachers in my school got bitten by a brown recluse

  • Sue the apartment complex for not taking care of the problem

  • @meowmebaby1 so ur one of the bitches who sue for everything

  • @WUZIGULUHU Are you one of the fuckers that wants me to smash in their face ass fuck. Go ahead fuck with me.

  • @meowmebaby1 um face ass fuck dosent make much sense to me but yea pretty gay to sue for whatever goes wrong life isn't perfect, shit happens

  • @WUZIGULUHU Yeah and you make sense? Your a dumb fuck. Keep em coming.

  • @WUZIGULUHU Yeah shit happens your alive. shame.

  • @meowmebaby1 shit happens we have to have people like you on this planet

  • Coal City too! I captured one in a jar and braught it to the health dep and it was a recluse. This thing was in my house

  • brown recluses were reported in the peoria il area last summer of 2011

  • i bought a new pair of boots from an old boot store and a huge recluse had a nest in the box.

even crazier, i took them out to try them on O.O

  • well this doesnt help me i live in illionis :(

  • I'm so glad to live in Sweden.

  • I...I live in Illinois. I'm not sleeping tonight, that's for sure..

  • I thought brown reculuse spider bites were no big deal? I heard that you dont have to do anything and it will go away on its own

  • Now that it has finally healed, I have was appears to be a "dent" in my shin. A doctor finally cut away the infected tissue. It's still really ugly and pretty embarassing when I wear shorts.

  • I've been bitten twice by brown recluse spiders. Ironically, both bites (about 10 years apart) were within about 5 inches of each other. The worst and most recent was about 6 inches above my right ankle directly over my shinbone. It wasn't painful or anything, it just wouldn't heal. It took almost 3 years for the wound to heal. It would scab and fester and then seem to completely heal, and then a month later it would start bleeding and scabbing over again. The wound was the size of a quarter.

  • i dont see the brown recluse spiders at all and i live in illinois

  • That's because of where and how they live. It's not the kind of spider you see run across your carpet one night. They stay in the dark, hide in dark corners, places where you seldom look. They only come in contact with you by accident. They may hide from the sun in a shoe or boot and be carried inside. I've lived in Arkansas, Texas, and Louisiana most of my life and I know for a fact they're out there, but in all my life I've only seen a brown recluse ONCE, but I've been bitten TWICE.

  • @gurumagoo ouch now thats gotta hurt

  • Strange, but it didn't hurt before the doctor cut the tissue from my leg. He said it was because the toxins in the wound had destroyed the nerve endings. After he cut away the infected tissue and took about 1mm off my tibia, he applied a skin graft about the size of a nickel to cover the bare bone. For all this I was in the hospital pumped full of about 8 different kinds of antibiotics because of the threat of staph infection. It still hurts to this day, and I walked with limp for months.

  • @gurumagoo my dad told me that they only hang in woodpiles and not in houses because they are too crowded

  • I am going to google "What kills spiders" and buy about 100 of whatever comes up. Fuck those bitches!

  • I live in IL shit....

  • Spiders ARE NOT here for "you and me", HELL NO. Their survival just happens to fit in with our ecosystem. That's about it. I guarantee that if they were bigger and we were more fit as prey, we'd also be on the menu. I'm sorry but fuck spiders. If I see one, I kill it. Simple as that. Family and yourself first. Not to say I go hunting for them, that'd be wrong. However if they enter MY house and threaten my life, as well as my family's, yeah right I'd escort it out safely.

  • wait so what's the difference between recluse and brown recluse

  • Pretty scarey shit man - I've been bitten numerous times (over the years) by Black Widows, but only ever suffered stomach cramps and rashes. Supposedly we do not have Brown Recluse spiders here in Canada, but I'm pretty sure I have seen several.

  • this is why scotland rules. although the spiders i have in my house make me cry,but i'd die at this.

  • Yeah! FUCK SPIDERS! 3:59

  • Im living in Ireland and own two bearded dragon lizard's..I feed them crickets and one day I noticed a spider in my cricket storage box..its a big 1 metre square box with a heat lamp..after a lot of researching I discovered it was a brown recluse spider...I contacted the company that supply the crickets and apparently its quite common for the brown recluse to hitch a ride in the cricket boxes to Ireland.looking at this video Im getting worried there may be more in my house...

  • @lenny820 Dude! That sucks! I wonder if you were getting the crickets from Arizona? There are lots of brown recluses there! I found one in the house once and killed it, and then...one day...I was walking out of the bathroom and saw something brown walking across the carpet. I didn't stop to think, I just reacted and stomped the living hell out of that mother! When i got a paper towel to clean it up, I found out it was my roommate's pet Hermit Crab that escaped from his aquarium! He was Irish.

  • @lenny820 ...I meant my roommate, not the crab, btw.

  • @Humpahna ha ha I knew that..I didn't find any more of them but Il have to screen the crickets before storing them from now on..I doubt we have any doctors to deal with a brown recluse bite in Ireland so I need to be careful.

  • this is fucking bullshit, my mom and her old bf got bitten by brown recluse. this video is fucking stupid.

the only way it gets this bad is if you get bit and let it stew inside you for over a few weeks, get bit, notice what it is, go to doctor, they dig out the flesh and pack it. end.

  • @Chaosium Everyone reacts differently to the venom.,some people don't even get a reaction.

  • @jodlen49 no, i understand that different things occur in the body however this is stating the venom itself is deadly, which its not.

  • @Chaosium Ok, I hear ya - from what I understand it is not deadly.,meaning it should'nt kill you to be bitten by a Brown Recluse. It does have a habit of creating in some of its victims, an ulcer type of wound - whether the victim does not notice the bite and does not attend to it right away or what. I do know that the odd bite from a Hobo Spider, when the Aracnid actually injects venom (1 in a 100) can have the same messy consequence.

  • wtf...just WHAT THE FUCK!!! damn you nature!

  • My goodness! All this from one spider bit. :-S

  • Tons of em' where I live

  • Pascalite Clay would have saved him from all these evil surgery loving doctors.

  • never know you could be special and turn into spiderman!

  • I found one of these under my pillow a few weeks ago. I've been terrified to go to sleep since.

  • there goes sleep.

  • Keep in mind too people, that in the Northwest regions, there is a Hobo Spider that is often mistaken for a Recluse. Their bite is excruciatingly similar, including the toxicity. They, however, are extremely aggressive, unlike the Recluse who usually only bites when disturbed. Widows as well, rarely bite unless provoked and tend to stay in their webs in dark, dry, quiet places, and their bites can vary widely from mild like a bee sting to worse than a Recluse's destruction, depending.

  • @Scorpion1054: More unsettling is the fact that people commonly spray to rid their homes of spiders and other pests, and in doing so, they open the door for Recluses. First, they kill off the other spiders, giving free reign to the Recluse. Secondly, unless you directly spray a Recluse, it does no good. They walk on little claws attached to the ends of their feet., therefore they never touch the poison sprayed around. Worse yet, they LOVE clothes and are often found in the sleeves and such.

  • Thumbs up if you were looking around while watching this.

  • I was bit by one and had to go to the hospital but it just turned intoa scar....

  • imagin

  • it's vennom must destroy the tissue, and destroying all the white blood cells, so all the bacteria can enter the wound, without the body responding to the wound, due to the poision wich affects the immune-system

  • dude we got brown recluse spider around my yard :(

  • imagine getting bit on the dick....

  • @offtheheazy6 now im scared

  • been bit 3 times working on cars in new mexico i just burn them with a soldering iron then cut it open with a scalpel and squeeze its gross my leg turned black one time and my girl got all pissy so i cut it open got a dime sized dent in my calf from that one good luck if u get bit

  • I grew up in Tennessee where these things are common. The unsettling thing about them is if you see one in your house, it's very likely you have many.

  • O MY GOSH!!!! me n my grandma r soooo lucky!!! Last year we were walking the dogs wen she felt something fall in her hair n I saw a spider(really big) so I flicked it off her but the web stayed on me so it climbed bk up but luckily my friend was outside n she hit it n squashed it!!!!! We both felt lik heroes ^.^ lol

  • I live in Springfield, Missouri and according to the exterminator it is the Brown Recluse capital of North America. I have lived in a couple of places in Springfield that got bad infestations and am currently living in one...I have caught over twenty adults and many more baby ones. It is a horrid feeling knowing you have flesh eating spiders in your house... and possibly in your bed sheets.

  • I'm glad those motherf***ers don't live in my neck of the woods!

  • thumbs up if you feel like something is crawling on you after watching this.

  • I almost got bit by a brown recluse today, never been so scared in my life. i picked up a blanket off the floor and he went halling ass down my arm and fell on the floor thankfullly then i killed it

  • me and some coworkers caught two of them in Parma Ohio, at work and we looked it up not knowing how dangerous they are, and now we know and thank God none got a chance to bite us.

  • The very next day they attempted to drain it. In four days my back was opened and getting larger. I was flown to University Hospital.

  • A total of a day when it was lanced. Then in four days I felt my back actually opening up. That's when I flown to The University Hospital.

  • muerance aranas, todas

  • DAMN NATURE YOU SCARY

  • My YouTube habits at night keep getting me tuned into this creepy shit. I have got to stop this before I got to bed...

  • Gosh, there's a difference between "poison" and "venom". I'm surprised this show didn't use it in the correct context.

  • Im so glad im not from there.

  • When I was in the hospital, I was told of a 7 year old that died 7 hours after she was bit. Of a lady that lost the side of her face. It hard to believe something this small can do that kind of damage. In the hospital I known as the diabetic that lived. Take care and God Bless. Once again, thanks for sharing.

  • ew ew ew ew

  • I was bitten and had five surgeries. Was told by ER, I was.being flown to an University Hospital. They gave me three hours to live. Not good and might loose my leg. The news just kept getting worst. This was after four days. The doctors saved the leg but had to cut all around it. I have a hole in back of 17 by 17 cm. I was back to walking in 1 1/2 years. Went back to work in Two years. I have a pain pump but I'm doing well. I know where the person in the video has gone through and I live in Iow

  • @DennyRec wow, that is insane. I am glad you are doing better.

  • @DennyRec how long did you wait till you went to the hospital. And Thats good you still have your leg. Sry about the whole ordeal. Atleast you are better now.

  • @DennyRec I am scared for my life now, i think ill move out of illinois as quick as i can :(((.

  • @DennyRec are you bitten by a dinosaur/

  • @DennyRec how did you manage to get bitten ?? :L

  • @DennyRec I almost lost a part of my hand due to the bite from the Chilean Recluse when I was 10. It bit me when I was asleep and the bite woke me up, I saw it was a Recluse Spider, and the medics were called ASAP. They had to administer anesthetic, and cut a huge part of my hand open to save the thumb to point where bone was visable and they barely got enough venom out to save the thumb but there was still enough in there to cause my hand to swell. It is still swollen to this day.

  • @DennyRec

why do their bites cause a necrosis like wound?

  • @DennyRec lieng nerd shut uo chatting shit i hope you die a horribkly death you cock sucking troll.

  • @DennyRec i've been through it too, but somehow my body fought the venom and stopped most of its effects before i went to the hospitol, doctor's were stunned and wanted to check my blood for anything, they found i had a really strong immune system, but i still carry the scars... and it sucks.. :(

  • im not sure that watching these vids is doing my phobia any good....

  • omg it says tissue 10 times!!

    (ive been counting)

  • I'm wiping imaginary spiders from my legs now. and i will be all night. thanks alot

  • His leg looked like the grand canyon.

  • I live in N. Alabama, and I believe I have been bitten by a fiddle back (brown recluse)... I didn't feel the bite, but I woke up this morning with extreme muscle aches, and severe itching at the bite site.. I am keeping tabs on on the bite site, and will seek medical attention when it deems necessary...

  • ewwwwwwwwwwww

  • wow i'm in Pekin IL and went camping over in Canton and i've been bit by something on my stomach thats causing redness and bruising and i just stumbled accross this video while i was trying to look up insect bites...i'm on day 5 and after seeing this i might just make a trip to the ER.... I hope its not a BRS bite I can't seem to find pictures so early that look like my bit but its freaking me out. You're lucky to be alive after that

  • i fucking hate spiders

  • After two days my friend passed away from this poisonous spider...They buried her today left two beautiful children...You were blessed to have survived...

  • my mom just got bit by one of these this morning. i dont know if shes ok bcuz she is in north carolina and i am in virginia. i hope all these little demons get squashed

  • In the UK We have these tiny little spider's, When I see one I still shet myself :P

  • I remember keeping tabs on this in the Daily Times/Journal Star... I was so glad things came out all right for Dale. My aunt lived in that same complex in the early 90s. And I'm pretty sure the surgeries were what launched Dr. Gupta's fame. Great strength and skill of many people.

  • So glad i live in the uk

  • I literally just killed one a few mins ago!!!! Its the first one that i've seen here. although we just moved in this apt...SHIT :/ I'm calling my landlord tomorrow to have him spray the place er sumthin...

  • Damn im happy that we odne have that spiders in sweden .. spiders in sweden theyre wenom is to weak to do anything

  • like this if u scratched or looked around for spiders

  • what if it bit someones dick eeeewwwwww

  • brown recluse bites never kill anyone

  • Lmfao is every surgeon named dr. Gupta?

  • @TheYankees200927 Ironically my last name is Gupta too, but he is not related to me in any way.

  • 5 brown recluses disliked this video.

  • Couldn't they have had antivenom flown in?

  • I just found a brown recluse in my bathroom running around my tile floor he then ran into my kitchen and got stuck underneath my fridgerator on a sticky board I placed under there. I am very upset about it, last year we had a black widow infestation and now a brown recluse, I live in the desert and cant wait to get out of here.

  • that's a big hole you've got there...

  • at least it didnt bite him in the balls

  • @Sneadster

his balls would be gone lol

  • The severity of the bite really depends on the individuals body chemistry and how it reacts. I have been bitten by a brown recluse, and did not have such a severe reaction. My wound was drained, and treated with antibiotics.

  • Oh i bet that hurt

  • you survived wow

  • @KASHEDS yep just a really big hole in the leg. Looks better after a few surgeries.

  • @chillicoth Ive been bitten by these things a few times in my sleep. I do dislike the dern things. Fortunately, I'm familiar w/ the bite mark so I can go get drugs the very next day. I'm sorry your body reacted so badly to the toxins and germs. My body tends to react differently, I end up getting big black boils/bruises instead w/ pus.

  • @chillicoth about how many surgeries did you need?

  • that was scary dude i like the vid though

  • My husband's college roommate's brother got bit on the butt by one, and part of his butt cheek rotted off, and he had to get skin grafts on his butt.

  • @amethystfuture Ouch. Talk about a pain in the ass.

  • @amethystfuture yikes!

  • @chillicoth THAT WAS YOU!!!

  • fantastic ! brown recluse,very fantastic absolut.

  • If you have an infestation of Brown Recluse Spiders the best thing you can do is get some Scutigera Coleoptrata (House Centipedes). The scutigera eat brown recluses and any other pests, sometimes you have to set a monster to catch a monster, call it an uneasy alliance. Their bite is much preferable to the bite of a brown recluse. When all your pests are gone, they disappear to.

  • why dont they have an anti venom for it yet??

  • When my Uncle was in the Army and was in basic, a guy in his company got bite and lost his leg... DAMN!

  • I'm really glad i live in Sweden, were the most dangerous spider isn't even poisonous.

    xD

  • People u have to understand u probably got bitten by a differentnspider

  • thats weirded to me.cus i just got bite by a brown recluse a few months ago on the leg it looked nothing like that is was smaller a little wed and had a brown dot in it!

  • These doctors completely overreacted and this guy should sue their asses off. Yes the spider's venom is dangerous but I got bitten by one of them in college and it just left a hand sized burn mark on the back of my left leg. Those doctors did WAY more damage than the venow would have done.

  • WE SHOULD INVEST HUNDREDS OF BILLIONS IN SPACE PROGRAMS AND GET THE FUCK OFF THIS PLANET. IT'S NOT SAFE!

  • i was bit by a brown recluse when i was little so i dont see tham as all that badass

  • We shouldn't kill them, they just want to eat and live like us...two days ago i saw one walking through my living room, i just caught it with a jar and threw it out, ofcourse, like a half of a mile away from my home...you just need to be more carefull with your blankets and clothes, clean very well your house and that's it....we don't have the right over the life of any organism...remember, the just bite by accident....

  • @EidSeimmoc thank god i live in new york lol any nasty ones where i live though?

  • Which part of the US do these spiders usually live just to be more careful?????

  • i got bit b a spider and i turn to spiderman

  • I think the spider hitted a head bloodstream :) (dunno how to call it else since my english ain't that good) but i heard when you get commonly bited by the brown recluse its usually not in the head bloodstream and you'll just get a fever a normal one, but i've never heard someone actual "flesh" looking ripped of by a chainsaw :)

  • so glad there aren't any dangerous spiders in the UK

  • some one says spider i shiver hard

  • @zixerqwert

was thinking the same thing lol

  • there was perfectly no need to interview wearing that shower cap of a hat he has. But america being Hollywood! no...he must wear it, coz we're americans and my friend Todd drives a hummer while his friend Josh wears shorts and shouts hell yh outside his window.

  • Looks like he was really lucky. Have seen (first hand) even more damage to a leg caused by the BR. Also, saw news account where an older man died in TX from BR bite. In both cases the BR was in the clothes hamper. Don't wait, get to an ER quick if you think you've been bitten.

  • Thats extreme

  • @chillicoth that's true. I didn't know the recluse bite could become systemic without other infections. Also there is no antidote for the recluse bite. You just gotta live it down! The good thing though is that the recluse isn't very aggressive...they call it a recluse for a reason.

  • @GunYou1 The toxin can travel throughout the body depending on the bite site. Most of the noticeable bites happen when the soft tissue is effected. The problem with the recluse part is you do not see them until an issue happens whereas the Black Widow likes to spread the web outside the Brown Recluse is happy indoors too. The BR also has irregular webbing on the floor not often seen and mistaken for other things. No antidote and often misdiagnosed the BR bites are underestimated..

  • @xpg23killedU if it's green don't worry thats just an orb spider. If it's brown and his web is a funnel then yeah leave them alone. To avoid the recluse stay away from old wood piles and boxed clothes that might be in your attic. A recluse cannot kill you but the array of infections you can get is pretty scary. The widow is actually more dangerous because it uses a neurotoxin but really only kills really old and young people.

  • @GunYou1 Brown Recluse works in a similar fashion. If the toxin becomes systemic the old, really young, and sick die. The more dangerous thing about the BR is that it also kills tissue with its toxin so ANYONE could possibly lose tissue to the flesh eating toxin. Unlike the Black Widow the BR is harder to identify and likes to hide in clothes and blankets. These blankets can be on your bed right now if you have these buggers in your house. Shake them! Glue traps catch them well.

  • @chillicoth FUUUUUU i cant sleep now lol

  • are there any of these spiders in Canada???? :O

  • @goldenguy5 I have heard they are in Vancouver and Vancouver Island area. Don't know for sure.

Here in Ontario we have a hybrid of the black widow called the Northern Widow. Nasty bite on them.

  • @MrFrozenCanuck yeah, i hate spiders...at least its too cold for them here in Newfoundland......For now anyways, Garden Snakes were recently discovered on the west coast of the Island there last year or the year before....It was believed that it was to cold for them to survive here, as long as the spiders stay away, and the snakes are only garden snakes, lol :P

  • @Goldenguy06 I'm not a big fan of snakes either.

  • OMG SPIDEEEEEEEEEEER !!!!

no.. sorry wow... that`s very hard.

    I don`t see it bevore..

The man have a lot of luck.. wow

  • glue traps u say works best?

  • @fireamracing yes. Spiders walk over chemicals

  • couldnt they use maget therapy to remove the skin

  • thats scary i live in peoria thats like 15 mins away and i have spiders all over the back of my house and theyre huge but they spin webs so im not sure what kind they are

  • @xgp23killedU BR has irregular webs more towards the floor

  • wtf i live in chicago

  • I feel much safer cuz i live in canada alberta fortmcmurray :-)

  • sometimes i wish critters do not exist, make it easy not have 2 worry about lol even tho some are helpful in some ways, the only thing i've been bitten by was a dog.

  • I hate brown recluses....Im 13 and got bit by one in my hand at night while I was asleep.....God so many operations in one night that led to day....hard to sleep at night now

    Im happy for that guy!

  • @StrawberrySwirlSky lol i dont blame ya, i would be afraid to sleep at night too, i'd turn myself into noctornal

  • idiot doctors in the most evil state in America do not have even rabies cure shots on hand either. brown recluse are a common house spider in the south I kill them daily in my house as I don't want them to kill me or my dog! if you see one smash it hard!

  • I was bit by one below my nee, it was not nearly as sever and the infection worked its way out of my nee thanks to antibiotics. The doctor gave me tweezers and gauze and i had to pull dead flesh out of my leg every night for a week.

  • SWEET!!!

  • his eyes close up and his face from 0:09 to 0:15 looks mad he looks really cool and big. but i hate spiders. i can't believe they are real lol. can any1 tell me how i should put traps and (what traps) for redbacks and whitetails and etc.

  • @ChelseaFcTheChmps glue traps. You can get them cheap at any hardware store and even cheaper on some online sources. The flat ones used to catch mice work the best. Watch so the pets an not get to them. Our dog was wearing one on her leg for an hour.

  • I am originally from Pekin, Illinois aswell...living in nashville, TN for the past 7 yrs. I have only become aware of these types of spiders and what they can do the past few years. I have a major aracnaphobia since learning about these hideous mutant things. Im currious, Dale..if you were living in rented property, did you contact the owner about the spider problem? What can we do as far as traps..ect to keep from getting bit by these spiders?

  • @CrystalMystique the owner of Lakeshore Apartments lives in Arizona. I contacted him after having to ask the county who owned it. He ignored me. The apartment manager refused to spray and we had to force him through the Tazwell Health Department. They exterminator missed many areas. We still saw spiders when we left the complex.

  • @CrystalMystique i live in oklahoma. and i have seen them there a few times. because they are known to live there and the reason there showing him is because its an extreme case. most of the time down here people know the bits and recognize them. and they get anti venom pretty quickly. i am not saying ther enot dangerous. i am just sayign dont get worked up bout it

  • holy shit

  • if that was your cockrel you'd now be female

  • @drpoppabong lmao
