With increasing gas density you get narrower discharge channels, the breakdown voltage increases, meaning that charge builds up until it overcomes the insulating properties (spark).
Above this (as air pressure decreases with altitude) the discharge will become more diffuse, when it reaches a conductive layer it can spread out as a ring or disk.
In very thin gases the plasma channels may be so wide compared to the amperage that they they seem "invisible" - but can still be immensely powerful.

@jillatay Your suggestion seems reasonable. But the fastest way for viewers to assess credibility is to see the relationship between a reconstruction and global layers of known fact. Coming through the back door via "mystery solving" might avoid some viewer discomfort early on, but would conceal the most powerful layers of evidence, while taking at least ten times as long. Viewers must judge for themselves whether our confidence is warranted, based on three episodes, but not less than that.
Can't you gain more credibility by saying your propose a theory of such events instead of recreating a cosmological belief system? Present it as a puzzle and put the pieces together for us. None alive now witnessed these things. So why the definitive statements and the dramatic music meant to give it an air of authority? The EU theory is a fascinating topic, present it on its own merits.
I would respectfully request that respondents limit their comments to the topic of this video clip. Nothing does more to dissuade others from adding comments than seeing a flurry of posting by people who pretend to knowledge that they do not possess or want to discuss unrelated matters.
@thehorribles Of course scientists know that lightning is electrical, but they do not have a credible explanation for the extraordinary separation of charge, or the triggering of lightning.
"...Despite its familiarity, we still do not know what causes lightning. It is a misconception that Benjamin Franklin solved the puzzle..." Scientific American, May, 2005, article by Joseph R. Dwyer
"Science does not know what causes lightning" What the heck? Yes we DO know! It's the balancing of electrical charges between the atmosphere and the Earth. How absurd. Another cause if the friction.
@thehorribles There is ligthning that science do not understand, its high up and the funny thing with this lightning is that it is always horisontal. I dont rememer the given name for it but I am sure u will find ot that on your own!
To study, to understand nature you use the source, the highest art of natural teaching technology will be found in Psychedelic plants or Mushrooms. The Cosmic native people have used them, to study nature millions of years ago, without using modern technological equipment, however their knowledge & wisdom of nature, is way more high tech, advanced then any so claimed modern research scientist. Their knowledge is preserved for Aeon's, modern scientists are just finding a glimpse of it today.
Hmmm, at around 3:25 the ancient god with the thunderbolt appears to be wearing a wrist watch. It's even on the correct wrist for a right-handed person.
Having lived in Tampa Bay, known as the lightening capital or hub of the Eastern side of the US, and a center for the most diverse species of Sharks, the symbol of the Minarette, (Islam) struck me as a little Homosexual in it's orientation. Then again, it could just be all the excess hullaballo about liberals Coffee Party making no headway in it's bid to unseat the Tea Party...otherwise, what and whom is 'Homosexual' would be a 'different' matter.
@hcarter75: no, christianity is a little homosexual in it's orientaton. That's why Christians fight for gay rights like a bunch of monkeys and that's why catholic bishops like to abuse and fuck boys to make them gay!!
Do some proper research and use some facts now lol
To Omnignosis: I'd say the presentation strictly avoids adding one assumption or conjecture to another. Rather, it invites the viewer to consider layers of puzzling, seemingly inexplicable fact in the light of a single unified reconstruction. In this way the puzzling facts become PREDIC TABLE. I believe that the strength of this approach will become increasingly clear in the course of the presentation.
Edward892, It would be a serious mistake to assume that, in an electrified plasma environment, the rules you are applying would be valid. As electrical conditions changed, all apparent masses would change, and thus the orbital paths as well. See discussions of gravity and electricity at Holoscience. In physical terms, the key will not be gravitational theory, but planetary science. Are the features of the planet Mars consistent with it having been immersed in hemispheric electrical discharge?
This would have to mean that mars' orbit should be wildly elliptacle now would'nt it? A shift of millions of miles to regain a round orbit? I'm confused.....heh.
Well done as always. With the aurorae and lightning sprites and with the edges of the electrical field of Venus being just outside of our magnetic field, it is attention getting just how tenuous the electrical stability of the current solar system really is.
Great stuff guys. If I had stumbled across this in my early years at the University I would have most certainly added a significant portion of EE classes to my schedule. I'm now a P.E. in Civil and this fascinates me to no end. If only there was a way to get the type of overdone productions that History channel and Discovery show over their nonsensical theories.
Thanks for posting. This video will be appreciated by skygazers and sky geezers alike. I will buy this episode to share with bright kids and not so bright geezers such as me.
Wow! About midway through I started crying for the sheer simplicity and "know-ability" of the Thunderbolt Project's proposal; for the disparate events and information that I have gathered that did not make sense prior. Science was not hard for me until I fell into the disaster that is astronomy and cosmology and geology and anthropology and archaeology. The theories those sciences profess bamboozle the mind and make science a mockery. Thank you. I can't wait!

The great thing about science is that you can claim anything, you just need to figure out a repeatable and independant experiment.

with power of 2 you can only reverse using negative
negative/2 = positive | # - ( -#) = positive ! reversal
positive/2 = positive | # + (+#) = positive ! no change
