A marine colonel told me once that "marines are known for a lot of things. Being smart is not one of them." Anybody who legitimately knocks on other services clearly does not comprehend the flexibility and components necessary to fight a war.
It's about being the TEAM!!!!!! Nobody is better than anyone we're all equal! Only an Air Force junkie would say so. Tough to talk when your boots are lighter. Haha AF does have some good guys though and it really is about working as a team, fighters can't do much without the support units.
@Mattw9105 You don't need 20/20 vision. As long as your eyesight is witin certain parameters the military will pay for a corrective surgery if you qualify for a pilot slot. I know this because I'm DODMERB pilot qualified and don't have anything near 20/20 vision.

We are not the same...the AF does not, will not, or has ever had the same culture or code as the Marines. Combat Controllers are an elite few and usually and are usually in a support role. But the rest of the members of the AF have joined to be part of the Armed Forces and are good at their jobs, but they didn't join to do harm in the name of our country. Thats what the type of men that join the Marines are for.

@MrDrAlfonso To answer your question the USAF isint really the place to go if you want to be a pilot, sounds silly I know but this is coming from an AF guy. the airforce currently has about 3 percent pilots, if you want to go to be a pilot currently I would say Navy or army if you want to fly helicopters, marines if you want to fly fixed wing. The airforce is facing budget cuts and were going torwards drones. Also if you want to fly DO NOT ENLIST do ROTC or the AF academy.

The airforce has thousands of diffrent jobs keep in mind, being a pilot is exremly competitive keep in mind, My recommendation is if your grades are good enough go for the academy.
