  • what a shame HP didn't give this tablet a chance . .. R.I.P WebOS

  • webOS rancheros xD

  • I will sell my iPad 2 as long as it is worth something, and get one of these...

  • Does any 1 know where i can access the app store for Web os ?

  • @smartdon007 yes! you have to go to appcatalog.de

  • Bottom line is that no matter how much people bash this there is one thing to keep reminding yourself.

The cost of a digital photo frame from Sony is $99 bucks.

All the digital photo frame does is shows your pictures.

The new sale price of the HP Touchpad is $99 bucks.

You figure out the other million possibilities that the HP Touchpad can do.

    Worth the price?

    YOU BET !!

  • hp touch pad is now 99$ hahahahahahahahah!.....no camera havin app havin future havin piece of crap that it is.

  • @theviciousViper I hope your tablet and it's OS will RIP while apple skyrockets to the top. lololl

  • oh and by the way, i know it can be cracked but for what fucking reason ? do i need to crack the toster to make a fucking tost both sides ?

  • ipad looks really poor and shitty compared to this... i really really don't understand the phenomenon of ipad... we all know it's not the first tablet, i agree it gives a genuine experience and a very good ips panel (a little obsolete though) but what about compatibility ? what about free choice ? i can't just put the fucking picture on this shit by draging it onto the device icon ?? what the fuck is that ?? it cost about $500 for a 16 GB (sic!!!) version and i cant do the most basic operation!!

  • @jasiuuu1985 POWER OF THE APPLE LOGO

  • @ajans101 I guess, you see an apple logo in 50 movies and you start thinking, jeees everybody uses that piece of sh....hardware - when you are slow thinker that is...

  • RIP WebOS

  • that shits gone

  • Web OS is dead

  • The reason how i know of dis product is bcos some celebs are ENDORSING dis item .......

  • i have a question when you said you can sync the touchpad to your phone can u do it with any phone or just hp phones thanks in advance

  • 8 people just realized they screwed up by buying an ipad

  • tablets are a big waste of money, desktop pc ftw!

  • @excelx213 try taking ure desktop pc with you on a train

  • @CulturalMyths a have a laptop for that =D

  • @excelx213 ah ok

twice the size at least of a tablet..

    well done

  • Ipad is for gay people

  • whats better ipad 2 or hp touchpad

  • iPad is the best!

  • Wow... Nice tablet!!! If the app support grows this might be the tablet for me!

  • a mix between android and ios??????

  • Looks awesome! I just hate the lag it showed, hopefully it gets updated soon, I hate the slow orientation, I constantly change orientation with my iPad 2 so it seems like it would be annoying in this tablet lol

  • Really nice but seems slow !

  • Looks very interesting - very iOS alike in the way that it looks attractive, clean and effective. Surely much better than the 'butt-ugly' Android OS 3.0....

  • The touchstone feature looks very convenient and seems to work well.

  • love it if i knew i could afford it i would be getting one!! x

  • I love webOS's UI. The touch sensitivity is HORRIBLE though. If they fix their touch & scrolling, I would buy this thing in a second!

  • i lol'd when he hesitated as he said, it doesn't have video out, which is kinda stupid every other tablet does i don' think HP is that good of a brand to be different, and the OS is like the playbooks with all the swipe gestures.

  • Touch Pad looks good. Very refined.

  • that was freaking legit when the pre 3 touched the touchpad but i guess it only works with the pre 3... i guess they expect people to buy both products like that going to happen lol..teehe

  • no android market is boring tablets

  • two words NO APPS.. Android OS would have been far more appealing and cost effecient

  • another piece of shit

  • @27131king ..Another apple faggot..

  • Really like how smooth the OS is. Just like iOS. No honeycomb lag ;)

  • man the phone took forever to load on the phone. BTW WebOS seems to be a much better platform for tablets than phones.

  • He needs to close a few apps on that poor thing. It's hard to run that much stuff man, those are a lot of RAM and CPU hungry thing's he's running.

  • If HP will be with full SD card reader and 3G or 4G unlocked I w'd buy it!

  • look how long it takes to open an app

  • im seriously considering leaving the ipad for hp touchpad. the OS is great and the notifications are better than iOS

  • @lilxrich123 I have an iPad2 and Iphone 4 and I am thinking about switching to the Pre 3 and TouchPad. Even with Apple's WWDC conference, they added more thinghs but really do need to add the bluetooth connectivity so you can get text messages and phone calls on your iPad

  • DO YOU THINK IS BETTER THAN?

    Ipad 2?

  • @MAGICDJ5 WHEN I GET THIS DO I HAVE TO GET INTERNET ON IT OR JUST APPS

  • @MAGICDJ5 -.- ofc

  • It looks cool but the interface looks like a FisherPrice toy! Honeycomb is the coolest HomeScreen in term of tablet OS but iOS on iPad is really simple, fast, user friendly and with a lot of apps. I think Apple should redesign the homescreen on iOS, just apps all aligned, kinda boring and unproductive...

  • to be honest.. this looks very laggy and unsmooth like the ipad. what i really look for is smoothness in operating. look when he clicked on an email, it took 2 seconds to respond, when he scrolls it is kind of choppy... when he clicked the game = more lag... doesn't look too good

  • touchscreen is not very sensitive, book application is crap, it's laggy as fuck and so do other softwares. the most important thing is the touchscreen, if tablet got everything but the touchscreen is crap then they should call it ipad feeder not killer

  • @thanhchuoi9x its a pre production model there will be glitches

  • ****I want split view****

  • thanks to this theres gonna be an ipad 3

  • is this a capacitive touchscreen?

  • @calebfountaine96 no it's a sensitive touchscreen like ipad 2

  • @calebfountaine96 oups sorry it's a capacitive touchscreen I checked that on a web site

  • @c3dr1cb the ipad has a capacitive touchscreen i thought

  • I cant understand how people can compare this to the ipad when it hasn't even been released.

  • Hey look it's the iPad! Haha

  • No video out? Sigh..... HP is all about making business devices; why would they leave that out?

  • @mtbrown75 To be honest, I don't think I'd actually use a video output. I don't ever use my EVO's micro HDMI port, and I don't think I'd ever use a video out on my tablet.

  • @Yankeeboy254 Never say Never. It is going to be really hard to make a decision on what tablet to get this summer. Xoom, iPad2 or the HP TouchPad

  • @mtbrown75 I will never buy another product after my iPod touch. I hate Apple's one size fits all philosophy. Other products, such as the TouchPad give a streamlined, and more customizable experience, without being locked into the Apple eco-system, something I vow never to get involved in again, for reasons I don't have enough characters remaining to go into.

  • @Yankeeboy254 good for you. don't forget your TouchPad will always be catching up with Apple, simply because they innovate. I'd rather have a closed ecosystem that just works, unlike the alternatives. That being said, I am impressed by how WebOS manages to mimic a good user experience.

  • @Yankeeboy254 Woaa, that is incredible, I've wanted to express this but never found such a good way as yours. I think the same bro.

  • @mtbrown75 Get an iPad 2 or the TouchPad. If you have a Mac, get the iPad 2, they will work together flawlessly. If you don't, and you don't mind not having such a vast selection of apps, go with the TouchPad. It looks very promising!

  • Was that a magic trick at the end??? Lol nice

  • Linux Rules!! :D

  • Webos has same OS what Android use. It is called Linux and it is monolithic by architechture instead Server-Client. Linux is best OS what is available today and will be in future.

  • It needs game apps to succeed or it needs to be cheap.

  • is there no cartridge in the printer?

  • Well, I'm sure myself. This is how a pad should look and work! I think WebOS is the most interactive, friendly and edgy operating system out there. Just a matter of open it to anywhere in the world (as android sadly advantages) and not limit it to regional settings (I'm at Honduras and expect to have full functionality on accessing apps, updates and much more). Either way Pre 3 and touchpad, here I come! Well, until summer though... When WebOS is coming out on pc's?!

  • Does this have games or other app like a iPad?

  • still not sure what tablet i want. Touchpad ipad or a honeycomb tablet.... ios 5 really needs to be killer for me to get the ipad 2. true multitasking would be nice and tablet gestures. i really wish that playbook was 10" web os is so great. lots to think about in terms of tablets right now.

  • Best tablet interface I've seen so far.

  • @TheViciousViper

    agreed.

  • @toemeraldcity: yes, might be thru Skype though, stated as: Have a face-to-face conversation on a large, vibrant screen. Check it out at HP.com. There is more info on the site!

  • Its Linux.

  • This is basically a glorified palm pre in tablet form...you can text by linking your

HP palmpre but can you make calls?

  • @toemeraldcity Its a tablet, not a phone. ^^

  • @irwin770

You say no apple, no microsoft?

Well actually Steve jobs borrowed money from Bill gates many years ago because Apple was in financial trouble.

    No Microsft No Apple ;)

Plus the arguements other apple and microsoft are stupid, they're two giant companies they don't give a crap what we see, especially Apple

  • Was it just me, or did the print picture come out blank and quickly discarded @ 5:40.

  • Introduction is good, Accurate Info, good Promo

  • It's nice, but real multitasking like this drains so much battery (noticed they left that bit of info out).. And the only honest advantage to card view is to save unfinished email cards for later.. Well all Apple has to do is next the send button, put another button that says "Finish Later" and it'll store it for later and that'll be that. You could also save to drafts, but that's no fun. iOS multitasking could be improved, and i think we'll see that, but battery life is a commodity and I think

  • It looks like a very nice UI full of great ideas, but many of the applications do not seem to run smoothly, e.g. the kindle and photos apps and the email client.

For me, that spoils the immersive experience a touch device should offer, but perhaps some software updates will take care of it, since the processor should be able to handle the content.

  • Despite a dual core processor, it looks/feels sluggish in terms of basic functions like swiping and the general interface is not as smooth as the iPad...

  • This has the opportunity to beat the iPad hollow.... If only its marketed well, priced well, and has many applications to boot... WebOS 2.0 looks really promising... If only it had come out a few years earlier... Love the cards UI and the ability to resize the onscreen keyboard! (with a separate number pad!)... Now thats a first. ;-)

  • There is also no idea (spec) that separates it more from the iPad (gyroscope, accelometer, ebook) got anything else HP?

  • "basically the same keyboard I learned to type on (from the iPad)"

the keyboard and browser looks exactly like the iOS, good copy from HPalm, couldnt they make it more obvious? Even the round edges and the home button is at the exact dimension and location.

  • 1 gb of ram?

    1.3 megapixel camera? loool

  • despite it has a good cpu, the WebOS seems to a little sluggish. Not so smooth as iOS.

  • I have a question regarding the app catalog. Can it compete with AppStore and Android Store?

If you want to use the touchpad in school or work can you use any document program and how good is that program?

  • I have a question

  • I have a question regarding the app catalog. How many apps are there? Can it compete with AppStore and Android store?

If you want to use the touchpad in school or work is the document program good enough?

  • does webOS mean that u've to be connected to the internet to use?

  • @RinozerosJanni No, you do not need to be connected to the internet to use the tablet/phone/webOS. It means that its apps are built upon internet standards, namely HTML, CSS and JavaScript.

  • The only tablet dat comp with the iPad still getting an iPad.

  • Lol. Fail comment, I don't know if there's a text limit or some thing but just no vvvv

  • Okay, all they retards about copying, there isn't any way to do so unless you completely do what they did with no real changes(which means a different look but exact same thing would probably be copying). These companies(including apple) don't copy, they take off where some other company left off and improve it to be better. If people complained about copying, just imagine how much the world would suck if something was only given one chance to be good, other companies should look at ideas and i

  • @Simon95able The first GUI was developed at Xerox PARC and both Steven Wozniak and Bill Gates copied their idea. Apple even didn't develop multitouch themself, they just got the patent.

  • @Simon95able so your saying, there should be no innovation and just copy everything, how will the human generation move on if they only cook their food on a bonfire? for generation and generation? there will not be any real change and we will be stuck in the early ages.

Think Different, Innovate to Impress. There companies are not spending much time of their research and development and they just want an instant pile of money from a technology that a company worked hard to research and develop.

  • I PAD (iOS) < Touch Pad (webOS) < Xoom (android 3.0) < PlayBook (Blackberry Tablet OS)

    Touch Pad (webOS) - PRO'S (UI - 9/10, performance - 5/10, hardware 5/10)

    - Very user friendly UI, really love the card concept (easier multitasking than iOS)

    - keyboard size adjustment, numbers on main keyboard layout

    - the graphics looks polished.

    - device connectivities

  • CON'S

    - the other task seems to freeze while switched to background (very similar to iOS multitasking process). probably gives very minimum system resources to background process.

    - NO HDMI connectivity, or any other sort external display connectivity

    - even with stellar specs dual core 1.2 Ghz there seem slight lag when in applications (although only one app is truly running).

    better specs camera's

  • Xoom (android 3.0) (UI - 7/10, performance 8/10, hardware 7/10)

    - good multitasking engine (but complicated UI although graphically rich. ie switching from app to app is not easy as webOS)

    - performace really good (the carousel display, very little lag)

    - can pump out 720p video out via hdmi port for external viewing.

    - rich portfolio of apps

  • CONS

widgets are good for a phone

but a tablet is more of a replacement for a laptop and with all that panel and drag and drop is might excitement for a while but it is too much of an annoyance for everyday use

could use 1080p output and smaller for factor.

    $799 overproced

  • PlayBook (QNX based Blackberry Tablet OS)- PRO'S (UI - 8/10, performance - 10/10, hardware 9/10)

UI seems like a copy of webOS (the card part but the multitasking done better!!! cudo's to RIM one thing done right after long time.

incredible power from the QNX OS and true multitasking environment. and really LOVE the gestures which makes that easy as closing eyelids.

  • 1080p video out via HDMI (makes easy to take movies where with u and play it at any place at full HD)

when I meant true multitasking apps can be run in background at full speed ie third party downloads such as loading flash videos on webpages while you are downloading something else.

and decent cameras that record full HD 1080p videos front and back.

  • Awesome form factor (tablets are on go device I wouldn't use it at home if its for home use. I rather use laptop until they are fully capable of doing everything that a laptop capable of. which is not yet)

could use better app store (and seems like RIM trying by giving developers different tools and free playbook for submitted app.) and possibly android apps could be run on playbook depending.

    playbook CONS

get the device out and stop it with the teaser's.

  • Pretty impressive, this webOS.

  • I guess this was the hp slate all along.

  • @iribz

Well ithin that are some apple fans that never saw a door ans gv that reaction but nvm i only buy apples little devices like iphone ipad but if u think that im a apple guy with that reaction i maybe think u work dor HP wich stads for half product what apple never would do well go try to make full iDoor like other doors

  • it looks like an bigger Blackberry Playbook ^^

  • why copy apple why give me 10 reasons!

  • @killerhakie ffs apple could make a brand new item and call it the iDoor which will be a normal door, and all you apple fanboys will say "OMG WTF ALL THESE COMPANIES PUT RIP OFF DOORS IN THEIR OFFICES WTF!!! WHY COPY APPLE ITS SO SAD" and then go and cry in your room

  • @killerhakie Apple copy windows ... The first tablets were made in like 2004 just google "Tablet computer XP"

  • @RizzyWow Windows copy Apple, if there is no Apple there will be no Wondows. Apple did not copy anything, they only entered a not-popular category that they now dominates

  • @irwin770 Oh really... well google Microsft Arc it might remind you of something... Microsoft XP tablet, looks just like a Ipad don't you think?... Oh yeah not to mention the windows phones (iphone) , microsoft office (iworks), and some other stuff I can't think of atm XD... The only thing microsoft copied from apple was the Ipod (they made a zune) ... =)

  • @RizzyWow like what i said before, Apple re-entered the Tablet market, they did not copy anything from Microsoft, can you see a stylus pen, multi-touch, etc in tablets before the iPad made by microsoft with the same price range and smooth User Interface? Nope. And no Windows copied Apple, the first tablet computer is Newton, which started development in 1987 and ended in 1998. Hmmm, when did microsoft made the first tablet personal computer? Oh right that was in 2001. wikipedia it!

  • @irwin770 Ermmm yeah, Microsoft Arc 2008 ... Mighty mouse 2009? Re-entered ? Micosoft never left remember PDA's? first Microsoft one was back in the 1982... Face it Apple copy

  • @RizzyWow Microsft Arc? and just so you know Apple made the first mouse! again no apple, there will be no microsoft,

  • @irwin770 so you dropped the rest of the products, because you know I'm right ... you just keep tellin yourself that Apple don't copy XD

  • screen is so dull and grey..

  • Actually i went from Playbook to Xoom to TouchPad

  • I'm with you lol

  • Ok so I'm switching platforms from iOS to Android now to WebOS when it comes out.

WHO IS WITH ME ON THIS ?

  • I agree with you YUPnNOPE the only problem hp/palm has is it's app store. their app store still needs work and more apse

  • WAIT!!.. Did I just hear him say there's no

    video out???!!!! :(

  • "it's not just a sea of icons, it's a visual representation of what im doing. And that's a very powerful concept." - direct gap at Apple! He's right though. Multitasking on iOS needs an OVERHAUL! Come on Apple, HP is showing you up!

  • Much better than playbook and ipad just needs some iprovements an mayba it is even better than android(comes from android fan) but the app store is really dreadfull improve that and its very good tablet

  • now who is the master of multi-tasking? QNX

  • Lol how you don't have any access to examples of flash unless there's no internet connection

  • The screen is 18-bit plus dithering versus the iPad's 24-bit IPS LED display. 18-bit color is on the spec page of HP-Palm's website.

  • That will cause iPad to loose customer, bad bad bad hp. I'll still with iPad 2

  • we should have been able to access the apps from the cards instead of having to go fullscreen......dosent make use of the 9.7: screen

  • very cool...competition is a great thing!
