Amazing how they came from my high school, they've gone a lone way starting from their very first album when I first heard them. Brings back the memories of their stickers being passed around all over high school.
Song has some wonderful melodies, the colors and images of the video are great. I like the change to the bridge, I always thought it was a bit long and awkward on the album
@TheSkateboardingTaco Haha. I came here cause Misha mansoor from periphery wore a hoody with DREDG on it. I remember ADTR saying this but never looked it up. I was too lazy. :) But nice to see that metal and hardcore fans can still like other kinds of music without hating it or comparing it.
@TheSkateboardingTaco I never said you are a close minded. But many people in metal are as you probably know. ;) I listen to everything which has real instruments in it. Every kind of Metal, Jazz, Rock and alternative. I just hate david guetta and stuff like that.
This song pulled me out of some really bad times. Pretty much saved my life. Thank you, Dredg. Very powerful stuff. This album changed me. Love you guys, very much!!!
I've always liked (older) Dredg cause they reminded me of Pink Floyd. Now, I like this new band UByK for the same reasons. Check em out if you like that kind of stuff.
@1nationalist Yes, that's what can make music amazing and captivating. It really isn't a lie when a certain kind of music can remind you of a moment in your life.
Exactly how will forever be a mystery like every other wonder in the world. After all, everything is still just a theory, yes?
i loved dredg and especially this song the first time that i listened to.
it was may 2009 and i falled in love with the boy that broke my heart 2 months ago. we went to a dredg's show in ravenna (IT) and he told me: "this is our song".. everytime i listen to "INFORMATION" i cry because i can't forget the beautiful moments we shared. This is for you, Nicola. Forever and ever...
His voice is so clear. He sounds great. I have always loved Dredg. I think they have their own sound. They don't sound like any band I can think of. They are good.
@souldiver101 Thursday on "A City By The Light Divided". In fact the part at 2:31 has originally been used in their song "Running From The Rain". On the other hand, ACBTLD is heavily quoting dredg. I think CWA and ACBTLD sound quite similar. And if you look for the style they play on "Pariah", try some U2 *shudders* Hope dredg V will have be decent material again.
Hey guys listen to our first material, it would be really cool if you check it out and comment.. we're going to upload soon more of our songs... cheers!
Hey check out my band A CULT LIKE VULTURE! We have two songs up on youtube right now, and we just want people to check it out, comment, and let us know what you think. We are influenced by Dredge and are also from SF so we dream we can end up like them.

Dear lord, this is bad. I bet he's trying to be "edgy", playing an instrument with a wrench. "Hmm, let's think. We'll fill this huge, empty gap at the beggining with some somber piano playing." These guys aren't original at all, sorry.
@Pedowfyl If you would have fallowed this band from the very start of their career you would really appreciate the amazing soundscape and musical evolution until this point.

I love Dredg! They're brilliant and amazing! From "El Cielo" to "The Pariah, The Parrot, The Delusion", everything is wonderful. What more can one say?
Not as instant as Cielo for me (still a firm favourite on the iPod) but this album has really grown on me. Wonderful stuff and fantastic song. They need more publicity in the UK.
el cielo..instant?..congratz;)..i need a few listenings to understand all of them..el cielo is i think played in the same categorie as leitmotif or catch with out arms..the "new" pariah album is for me an progress to their older things..sorry 4 my bad english..greets
their new stuff is a different aproach, probobly better in their opinion, way more room to expand and do different things, heavier isnt always better.
got to talk to all four of them on multiple occasions in dallas tx 10-20-08, was a great show. being a musician, ive had a tendency to start being more analytical at shows recently, instead of just letting go and reveling in the moment. but not at the dredg show, pure emotion and release.
they've stopped touring that would've been really cool to attend a show... you're right about the release and the expressiveness of music only so few musicians can do this properly

That might be true. Although, the first time I heard Leitmotif, it had instantly interested me and soon grew on me. This didn't really catch my ear... at all. They just don't seem to be as dynamic as pre-CWA, at least to me. Decent song, but just not for me. I think their penultimate theme would have to be The Canyon Behind Her.

You misunderstand. I love The Pariah. But I'm just not "into" it yet, for personal reasons. (I think I burned out on dredg and need a longer break or something...)
just bought the new album its amazing in my opinion its better than catch without arms best album of 09 by far you gotta get it even if you dont like this song which is absurd because its great. album versions better though

You misunderstand. I love The Pariah. But I'm just not "into" it yet, for personal reasons. (I think I burned out on dredg and need a longer break or something...)

you're right, maybe a break will help. I'd propose to get into another band for some time and then come back to it.
