So is the new prince john defoe or dacabe? Complete confusion.
Why did the tall man try and make defoe stronger if he knew that chzo was going to have him as a new prince. The tall man kept killing trilby, one of the only men defoe is afraid of and defused the bomb that was going to blow him up.
Crazy plot line but everytime I play it, a few bits piece together. Truly epic games it must of taken ages to come up with all this story... should be a film
I can explain one of those, the bomb had to go off for Chzo to get his hands of Dacabe to make him the new Prince. Tall Man was essentially trying to keep his job. By killing the Trilbys, it made it more likely for Decabe to be killed by DeFoe.
Dacabe. A bomb went off and destroyed the entire town of Buckinghamshire, and killed him, but Chzo brought him back to life, and made him the "New Prince."
It seems the entire series is an excersise in recursiveness, a stable time loop. Theoretically, i wonder what would happen if someone was to break the loop...?
So the Trilby that was killed in chzo's body so his lifeforce could be given to revive the one in Trilbys notes... was that the REAL trilby? Or is this left unanswered by the game.
The Prince/Tall Man is Cabadath (The druid who tried to summon Chzo ages ago to fight the romans or some such)
John Defoe was meant to be The Bridge, used by Chzo to pull one of the clone trilby's (Later used to revive Trilby during the events of Trilby's Notes) and Theo (Who became the New Prince).
Perhaps the reason why The Tall Man kept killing the trilby's was to allow DeFoe's wraith to enter the house, to kill Theo, before he was able to become the new prince (and thus, kill the tall man)
That's July 28th (written in day/month format). It's supposed to be a day when the barriers between worlds are weaker than usual. You'll notice that all of the #DAS series take place in the days leading up to that date, and the final confrontation on that very day...
(Why Croshaw picked that day is something I'm scratching my head over. Birthday? Random date? Anniversary? What?)
Man, I'm so heck confused! So the tree which contained the soul of the Prince (so he would remain forever with his mind and soul), is what the father of John DeFoe used to beat his child to death, making John DeFoe the supposed successor of the Prince? And Trilby is what again exactly, the prophesied BODY sacrificed for the prince? So,wait, Body (Trilby), Mind (the cultist in white robe) and the Irish girl (soul) were suppose to be the next successor for the prince? Then John DeFoe is who again?
@Melcadrien I believe that was the plan, to get a new Prince. The Arrogant Man seemed to be using his chzo-given powers simply to kill everyone who came into contact with the wood from the tree his soul was trapped in, Whereas Theo Dacabe, who actually seems quite similar to John DeFoe by the end of the game (in appearance and possibly in mind), seems to be much better suited as a servant and guardian of Chzo.
If you can recall, the cultist describes the ways to become an acolyte. Suffering of the body (cuts, broken bones) Suffering of the mind (insanity, boredom, etc.) and suffering of the soul (losing someone you love). His body is hurt when he is pushed down the elevator shaft, his mind is hurt, when I think he goes insane when he enteres the defoe basement, and his soul is hurt when Janine is killed. Making Theo an acolyte himself. In short, I think Chzo was trying to get a new Prince (Theo).
I believe that you are totally right about Theodore. With him as the new Prince and I believe that Defoe is finally dead as well. But Theo has no fear of Trilby, so from then nothing will stand in their away from then on.
Another thing I didn't get. Why was Cabadath killing off all the Trilby clones exactly? I mean, didn't he get pissed off at Lenkmann in Trilby's Notes for letting Trilby die?
Well the guide said that fore every tribly clone that dies john defoes mind sinks in the facility a little bit more so i think he was killing the trilbys to allow john defoe to posses some one and then kill anyone in the facility like theo
I don't think the Lenkmann thing had anything to do with Trilby in particular, just that the offered sacrifice was already dead. Tall Man just went for the next guy in the room.
Its worthy to notice whenever the New Prince creates his own scythe, it is now 4 sided. That means there may have been 2 before Cabadath... no what famous thing in modern society symbolizes pain and death and carries a ONE sided scythe?
Throughout the game Decabe went through the Blessed Agonies. First his body was broken in the fall down the lift shaft at the beginning, then his soul was broken when Janine was killed. Finally, his mind was broken by the whole ordeal and the trip to Chzo.
So essentially by the end his entire being and existance was completley shattered and sanctified for Chzo, making him a far better servant than Cabadath.
when the nuke blew, that trilby was also in the immediate area, so he must have went along for the ride. That's the same trilby that the caretaker will find 200 years in the future.
Original Trilby is still in our present day (check out Trilby's Notes and the 9th video of 6 days a sacrifice to see what happened to him). He's nowhere in 6DAS, unless you count a small cameo in the 9th vid.
Thank god the Special Edition summarizes everything that happens, because this version is confusing.

So, what happened to Trilby after the game? Is he just kinda stuck there with Chzo?
DukeOnkled 5 months ago
@DukeOnkled Timeline shows Trilby is killed by the protagonist of 7 days. So in a word, yes, he is stuck there.
Melcadrien 5 months ago
@Melcadrien
But is that one the original?

That must be where I was getting confused because I thought defoe was the new prince.
The thought of the old prince saving defoe in hopes that he would kill dacabe is quite disturbing lol.
Imagine that, the old prince and defoe in a team together, they would be a force to be reckoned with.

so that last trilby clone was the old trilby clone that had his life force taken away
tallpinoyman 3 years ago
so, Whats-his-face got turned into Super Mummy DeFoe and Chzo didn't actually go through with his plan, but kidnapped trilby?
poopskinTheLiar 3 years ago
It was the order's plan, not chzo.

Huh, one site said the order overestimated Chzo's interest in the world of technology...

Wait the destiny man said"We are all pawns in a game too vast and complex to understand although

So let me get this straight, CHZO screwed Cabadath over like any treacherous villain.

Chzo Books
Book of the New Prince
Chapter 1
8. And the Arrogant Man wept aloud, "Why have
you betrayed me, my King? What have I done that should earn this wrath?"
9. Came the reply, "Long ago, you were
offered to fulfill the role of the Bridge, as a being of both Magick and
Technology. You could have proven your commitment to your King. You could
have chosen your Successor. But in your arrogance, you resisted and created the
Child to become the Bridge in your stead."
