  • The wood cap and epoxy is about the same density as the wood removed, so the only real increase in mass is the lead.

  • Dame, it is a work of art

  • the glue will mess up the balance again. better deform the lead with a hammer a nail to make it expand a bit and sit tight. there is no additional weight with this method.

  • Guys, this isn't that hard. Just take into account the weight of the wood plug, the epoxy and the varnish when you make the lead plug.

It won't be much, because Lead is 16 times more dense than maple, and the lead plug is 3x as long as the wood plug. That makes the lead almost 50 times heavier than the wood. Go easy on the epoxy, though.

I didn't hear them mention that the hole needs to be deep enough to reach center so the lead is centered front to back.

  • wouldent the wood at the end add more weight on the prop???

  • What about the weight of the 5 min epoxy and the wooden plug ?? Is this an issue ?

  • Very well put and i get what you saying and doing but what bhupinderparamotor said in his comment is bang on have a look and please reply to him or me please :-) great video by the way 5*

  • very nice way to teach....i learn some thing new ..thax for this video...dont u think after once balancing it with led u put extra weight of apoxy and wooden plug..?

  • I just read your comment and i was thinking the same thing about the extra weight, would of been nice to get a reply don't you think :-)

  • I was wondering that too, maybe the wood plug and epoxy are light enough not to effect it. Either that, or he made the lead plug light enough to account for the weight of the wood plug and epoxy. Could be wrong though.

  • i'd be a little worried to just start drilling like that

  • I didn't get it @ all

i mean the guy on the vid the commentary is fine
