That Chevy truck would have been brand spanking new in 1950 and that color was not factory. The '50 Merc that was chasing it has a non-original two-tone paint scheme as well.
Just think, a mere 7 years later Indy would discover the existence of aliens, marry Marion Ravenwood, and learn that Shia LaBeouf is his son...and part tree monkey evidently.
I don't know why people are complaining about the music. If you listen it plays only when Harrison Ford is playing Indy. It's supposed to show that young indy isn't the Indy we know yet
Show would have done emmensly (spelled wrong) better if harrison did openings for most if not all episodes and lucas used the real indy theme from the movies for opening credits
That terrible knockoff score stopped me from enjoying this show. Shallow I know, but come on! George Lucas has more money than Jesus yet he's too cheap to pay for a theme he essentially commissioned!?
be in mind people, that man with indy WAS poncho-vila, the man Indy mentions when he's with mutt williams in KOTCS which takes place at least 2-5 years after this episode....
The music is corny because it just doesn’t fit the action I mean the Nazi piece, are those Nazis chasing Indiana Jones or just boys from outer of town? This is total pants never liked the Young Indiana Jones.
he did this one episode when the show was at the peek of it's success. I remember this got popular for a little bit couldn't wait each week to watch it. then all of a sudden it just stopped
Indiana Jones is freakin epic! Forget Benjamin Gates, forgot Lara Croft, and just laugh at the square called Rick O' Connell. Indy is the king of adventure.
Just seeing Harrison Ford in Young Indiana Jones makes this show feel more like Indiana Jones. That's a great feeling. For some reason his line at the end of this episode stuck to me. "Things can't always be the way you want them to be. But sometimes they are." Good stuff.
@Beowulf1ca the series is non canon to the movies otherwise they would have shown clips of river phoenix as young indy chasing after the cross of coronado in last crusade.
The reason why Harrison Ford has a beard in this indiana jones film is because this was filmed in 1993 the same year they were filming The Fugitive And Harrison didnt have time to shave it off.
@Noahrussell8 But also when you think aout it it pays good homage to Indy's father..lol Kinda like Luke takin' on the Obi-Wan look in the later stories..lol
@Noahrussell8 hey only harrison ford (and to an extent river pheonix) are worthy enough to have the original theme played in their scenes in this video.
At the time of KOTS Harrison is of course roughly eight-ten years older than his character is supposed to be but there is about a 14 year gap from when this was filmed up till the time of KOTS.
Well, the character of Indiana was born in 1899 in Princeton, New Jersey. You can find out about that info on wikipedia and several cannon books. The scene in here takes place in 1950 meaning Indy is 51. The actual episode came out in 1993 meaning Harrison was 51 as his dob is July 1942. Keep in mind that Crystal Skull takes place when Indy is 57/58 in 1957 and in real time Harrison was 65 during filming.
I wonder if this whole segment with Indy at the beginning and end of the episode is still considered canon even though its still on the dvd version. I only ask due to how he looks here compared to KOTCS status. Maybe we the fans might get a full story explaining this adventure at the beginning some day. It was great to see Harrison Ford as Indy again back then too.
Lots of music cues stolen from Raiders and remixed in a bizarre way! Love the fact its supposed to be 1950 and Indy looks a LOT younger than he does in KOTCS (1957)...
Thanks for posting. The segment doesn't begin badly, but that ending was so horrible! No wonder I only watched maybe two episodes of YIJ before ditching it, and that's when I was probably at the height of my Indiana Jones obsession.

SpiderBoy992 1 year ago
@SpiderBoy992 two problems:
1.) The man indy is with is Native American, not Mexican.
2.) It's set in 1950. Pancho Villa was assassinated in 1923.
Try doing a little research before attempting to sound smart.

(pwns the bad guys)
"...But sometimes they are."
This is the main reason I never liked Carrier or Flannery in the role; Ford always found a way, the other two just kind of let the plot happen.

So Harrison took the Indiana Jones costume not so long after the original movies, all at all, as we all believe by seeing him on the set of Indy4

What they should have done was make a TV series with Ford that actually has to do with archeology and dignified Indy adventures.
